Chapter 725: A Bloody Battle

Alaric jumped from his spot like an enraged shadow.

His eyes had turned completely black, and the veins on his forehead bulged like living snakes.

"You piece of trash... you killed my successor... the treasure of this guild... now it’s your turn to die!"

"It has nothing to do with me that he was so weak," Daniel said mockingly. Killing James wasn’t his doing, but unfortunately, no matter how much he wanted to deny it, in this situation it didn’t matter.

He had no choice but to accept responsibility for now, until he could later find evidence to prove his innocence—if such evidence even existed.

"Shut your mouth! Not just you. today the entire Everlight Moon Guild will be destroyed!" Alaric roared in fury.

His destructive aura and killing intent shook the entire Goblin Guild palace. Space and time seemed to be cracking under the pressure.

Under that aura, Daniel felt his body trembling, and that sensation made him angry. If his power hadn’t been weakened this much, how could he possibly be shaking from this bastard’s aura?

"If a guild is going to be destroyed today, it’s your terrorist guild," Varnos said coldly as he came up behind Daniel.

"Hmph, a weak piece of trash like you is too delusional. I’ll tear you to pieces and send you to that whore of yours," Alaric growled and attacked without giving them any chance.

Varnos quickly jumped back and tried to activate his Moon Law. By burning a large portion of his life force, he had suppressed much of the poison. He could now use the Moon Law at a limited speed.

[Lunar Reflection]

A silver moon ring appeared around his body to reflect Alaric’s attack.

But...

The ring only flashed for one second before shattering like glass.

His Moon Law power was severely weakened. The poison and the hidden array didn’t allow even one percent of his real strength to come out.

Alaric laughed. A cold laugh full of contempt.

"All these years you claimed to be the strongest Rank S in the country... and now you can’t even activate your own law?"

He waved his hand.

[Void Devourer]

The space around Varnos suddenly collapsed like a small black hole.

Air, light, and even the sound of Varnos’s heartbeat were swallowed for a moment.

Varnos felt his chest being crushed.

He punched forward with his bare fist, but Alaric simply created a shadow of himself with a finger movement and caught Varnos’s fist inside the shadow.

[Shadow Dominion]

Dozens of shadow hands shot out from the ground and walls at the same time and attacked Varnos.

Each hand felt like a cold metal claw. Varnos could only break three of them with his fists. The rest dug into his body.

The skin on his arms and chest tore open. Blood sprayed.

Space and time trembled under their fight. Large sections of the palace collapsed, and both were forced to move into the infinite void to continue the battle.

"This will be a tough fight for Mr. Varnos," Daniel muttered with a frown as he watched them disappear into the void. Fortunately, once they entered the void, the array no longer affected their fight.

But that damn poison was still a huge weakness. Right now he realized that even though he had burned away half of the poison, it had come back again and covered his entire body.

And it was even worse than before.

What the hell was this poison? He had never thought such a terrifying poison could even exist.

He was certain that only a Demi-God could create a poison like this. But why would a Demi-God get involved in something like this?

He doubted that a being of that level would care at all about destroying a guild like Everlight Moon.

Sure, their guild was powerful, but in the eyes of such an existence, it was no different from a pile of garbage.

He was convinced the target wasn’t the guild itself. So what was it? Did they want something from the Goblin Guild? Or were they using the Goblins to take control of the country? Or maybe even the entire region?

Unfortunately, he had no idea that his reasoning was completely wrong, because the real target wasn’t the country, nor the guild.

It was him. Himself.

He turned his attention to the Fallen. The bastards from the Goblin Guild hadn’t been able to defeat them, in fact, they were the ones getting beaten down.

His Fallen were practically immortal. No matter how many times they died, they came back to life. Defeating them was a real headache, and these idiots simply didn’t have the ability to do it.

However, before he could continue his analysis, a massive attack suddenly came rushing toward him.

"Hmph, I’ll tear you apart with my own hands, you piece of trash," Jason growled as he charged straight at him on his knees.

On the other side...

"Ah...!" Varnos dropped to one knee. The pain was excruciating.

He tried to use [Moonfall Strike], a strike that fell like the moon, but the power in his fist was only at the level of an average Rank A.

Alaric stepped forward and slammed a heavy fist into Varnos’s face. The sound of his jawbone breaking echoed through the hall.

"This is for James."

Varnos was thrown backward and rolled on the ground. Blood poured from his mouth.

He quickly activated [Celestial Barrier], a silver moon shield formed around his body, but Alaric just laughed.

[Eclipse Blade]

A black sword appeared in Alaric’s hand that swallowed all light.

With a simple swing, he sliced the moon shield like paper.

The blade struck straight into Varnos’s shoulder and shattered the bone.

Varnos screamed. For the first time in years, he felt real physical pain.

Ever since he reached Rank S, he had never experienced pain like this.

His power had fallen so much that he couldn’t even use [Lunar Eclipse] to blind his enemy.

Alaric stood over him and stomped on his chest.

"You always claimed you wanted revenge... so where is that revenge now?"

He stomped again. Varnos’s ribs cracked.

"I killed your wife... and now I’ll kill you too. Then your daughters... I’ll take everything from you, Varnos."

Varnos tried to stand up. Blood poured from his mouth and nose. Hearing those words made his eyes turn blood-red.

But he couldn’t do anything.

With his last strength, he activated [Silver Moon Force], the silver moon fury, and threw a heavy punch at Alaric.

But Alaric didn’t even flinch.

He simply grabbed Varnos’s arm and spun him around, slamming him into the infinite void.

[Abyss Chains]

Black chains shot out from the shadows and wrapped around Varnos’s body. The chains squeezed not just his body but his soul as well.

Varnos felt his life energy draining away.

[Eternal Nightfall]

The surrounding space turned into permanent darkness.

In this darkness, Varnos’s power dropped more and more every second. He couldn’t even lift his hand.

"You’re nothing, Varnos. You always were nothing. Just a barking dog that thought it could bite," Alaric said quietly but full of hatred as he bent down.

He raised the Eclipse Blade to deliver the final strike.

Varnos lay on the ground. His eyes half-open, his body covered in wounds and fractures, blood flowing from every part of him.

He couldn’t even speak.

He could only take short, blood-filled breaths.

Alaric smiled.

"Goodbye, old friend."

The black blade rose to kill him...
