Chapter 26: Blue Vs Tyson

Earlier That Day

Blue held the freshly forged ID card in his hand, the badge of his new identity as a worker inside the Ruling Party's building. "Is this really our key to getting in?" he asked, his voice laced with doubt.

"Yes," Coco replied firmly. "Get inside, blend in, and don't draw any suspicion—especially from Captain Barnes."

"And what about you?" Blue asked, glancing at Raine's ID card, which labeled her as a cook. She looked irritated. "By the way, Raine, that role suits you."

"Shut up," she muttered, clearly unamused. "Why do I have to be a cook? Couldn't I get something better?"

"I'll stay out of sight," Coco interrupted, his tone steady. "Too many people know my face. I need to remain hidden until the right moment—element of surprise and all." He patted the side of the van. "You know where to go. Stay there until I give the word."

Blue watched as the van pulled away, uncertainty still gnawing at him. "So, what's the actual plan?"

"Who cares?" Raine replied casually, cracking her knuckles. "As long as I get to shut up those arrogant idiots." She waved goodbye. "I'll wait for you, Blue."

Blue nodded and turned back to Coco. "You haven't told me everything"

Coco exhaled slowly. "We're going to make the president apologize for his mistakes. This plan is about Humanity's future...for all of us"

Blue hesitated, his grip tightening on the ID card. "I just hope it doesn't turn into a bloodbath."

Coco paused watching Blue for a moment, "Let's be real, Blue. There will be casualties."

Blue's shoulders slumped. "I know. Just... try to be more careful. Stick to what we agreed on and leave as soon as we've done it."

"Don't be such a crybaby," a gruff voice interrupted. Dex strode into the garage, puffing a cigar. "It's their job to keep civilians safe, not ours."

"Dex," Blue snapped, his voice sharp. "Watch your mouth."

"Or what, kid?" Dex sneered, blowing a cloud of smoke in Blue's face. "You're not strong enough to take me down. So just be the little dog you are and follow orders."

"You—"

"Hey, both of you, knock it off," Coco said, stepping between them. "This isn't the time to fight among ourselves. We need everyone focused to pull this off."

"Tell that to him," Dex grumbled, tossing his cigar and raking a hand through his rope-like hair. "Since he joined, he's been running his mouth like he's in charge."

"He's young, Dex," Coco said, keeping his tone calm. "It's our job to guide him. Now go on ahead—I'll handle this."

Dex shot Blue a glare. "Fine. But I'll tell you this, kid—I'll enjoy taking out those weaklings. See you around."

As Dex walked away, Blue finally spoke. "He's insane, Coco. If we start killing people, there's no way the Rangers will hold back."

"They won't hold back anyway," Coco said gravely. "We're crossing a red line by attacking the president's quarters. But we will do as much as we can for people"

Blue gave a small nod. "I guess I'd better get going."

"Do that," Coco said, patting him on the back. "And when you face Tyson, don't worry about anything else. Just enjoy yourself—I'll take care of everything else."

Blue left the garage, his steps slow and uncertain.

Coco stood there, watching him go, his face unreadable. As he glanced at his phone, a faint smirk tugged at his lips. The sent message glowed on the screen: "Make sure Ed stays with you while I strike when the iron is hot."

For a moment, his gaze lingered on the garage door. "Soon," he muttered under his breath, the smirk fading into a mask of calm resolve.

----

Back to the present.

The blast rang out—a deafening roar that shook the very ground beneath them. Blue's heart pounded in his chest, adrenaline surging as chaos erupted around him. His instincts kicked into overdrive. He pushed forward, eyes scanning the frantic movements of the guards.

With a flick of his wrist, Blue activated his bracelet. His metal armor quickly enveloped his body, transforming his hands into plasma guns. He felt powerful since he somehow got an upgrade of Two power points. Was that really because of nano-particles? Or Coco had enhanced his Meta-bot. He wondered.

The group of rogues surged forward, pushing through the line of unaware Ranger guards, their sights set on the president.

The captain reacted immediately, pulling the president away from the podium as his Meta-bot shielded him. "Cover the president! Stop their movements!"

The line of guards surged forward, transforming and clashing with the rogues. For a moment, the captain hesitated, his eyes darting to the corner. Blue followed his gaze and saw Tyson and Alex escorting the president's daughter to safety.

"Clear the way!" The captain barked, pushing the president toward an alternate exit. The confined room was overwhelmed by the number of rogues, but they were determined to cut through.

"I'm going that way," Blue muttered, slipping away as Raine beside him looked confused.

"Hey! Aren't we supposed to capture the president? Where do you think you're going?" she shouted, her voice rising with irritation. "Blue, you better not ignore me, bastard. I swear, I'll kill you!"

Although she knows Blue often does unimaginable things she doesn't want him to get hurt by his carelessness and now they are in what seems like the middle of a war zone yet these guys are running around. She felt like she needed to follow him.

"Raine!" Two of the others beside her followed as she stormed after Blue. "Why are we going this way?"

"Who knows?" Raine replied, her frustration growing. "I'm just following Blue."

It wasn't long before they saw the reason for Blue's detour.

"Wow, I'm impressed, Blue," Raine remarked, her tone a mix of admiration and annoyance. "You had a backup plan in case the first one failed."

Blue chuckled, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Yeah, guess I'm cursed with intelligence."

Raine squeezed her eyes shut, trying to resist the urge to hit Blue. "You really know how to get on my nerves, don't you?"

Blue tilted his head, watching them with amused curiosity. "Oh, don't let me stop you," he said mockingly. "Run along. But you know what happens if you turn your back on me, Tyson. I want you, not that guy, No offense"

Blue paused, his mind racing. As long as that hotshot stayed out of his way, he was confident he could take on Tyson again. The way Tyson had surpassed Blue's expectations the last time had burned a fire inside him. He wanted to fight him again, to push himself further, to give everything he had. But there was one catch—he mentally prepared to stay far away from Alex.

That guy? Annoying, Blue's eyes narrowed at Tyson. Once Alex locked eyes with him, it was like a shadow that never left. It didn't matter that Alex couldn't defeat him—he still wouldn't back off. Blue wasn't in the mood to deal with that. He fought to finish, and he wasn't about to let anyone, especially not Alex, distract him.

"Guys, it's my fight. Stay out of it," Blue whispered, determination in his voice.

"What do you think this is? A playground?" Raine scoffed. "We need to finish our jobs, genius."

"Wrong. You guys need to finish yours." Blue eyes already scanning for Tyson, "Look, the president's daughter is running away. Go after her."

"Ugh, you're hopeless," Raine snapped, rushing forward. But before she could take another step, Tyson jumped in front of her, his sword slicing through the air, embedding itself in the ground next to her.

"No one passes through here."

Raine's eyes scanned his power points, calculating the situation. Fifteen points? He was daring to challenge them all with only fifteen points? She was at twenty, and the others—ranged from eleven to nine. Hardly a threat, in her eyes.

"Think you can take all of us?" she sneered.

Blue didn't flinch. He walked casually toward them, his voice cutting through the tension. "Don't underestimate him," he called out, his tone casual but carrying weight. "It's the same guy who nearly kicked my ass last time. This time's different though, I am prepared"

Raine took a step back, her earlier bravado faltering. If Blue was saying that, it meant Tyson was no joke. She knew him well—Blue never backed down from a fight, no matter the odds. It was one of the things she admired about him... or maybe liked about him more than she cared to admit.

"Now don't you worry," Blue said, stepping forward and casually cracking his neck. "I'll entertain him. You go after them." He glanced at Raine and the others. "Just make sure not to piss off that red ranger. He's insane."

Tyson didn't wait for a witty comeback. With a wave of his sword, he closed the distance in an instant, his blade colliding with Blue's twin plasma guns. Sparks erupted as metal met metal, the clash lighting up the confined space.

"Go!" Blue shouted over his shoulder as he held Tyson back. Raine and the others didn't hesitate, darting past them.

Tyson's eyes flicked toward them for a split second—just enough of a distraction. Blue capitalized, landing a solid kick to Tyson's midsection. The force sent him sprawling to the ground.

"Focus on me," Blue teased, lowering his plasma guns with a smirk. "You're breaking my heart, man."

Tyson clenched his teeth, his glare burning into Blue as he scrambled back to his feet. Helplessly, he watched the others disappear, the president's daughter in their sights.

"You guys are monsters," Tyson growled, gripping his sword tighter, his knuckles turning white.
