Bear School Astartes-Chapter 850 - 833: Demos
"Pericles, oh Pericles..."
A robust male voice filled with mockery and undisguised malice emanated from the side door.
The footsteps that followed brought the owner of the voice into view before Lann and the others.
A flash of realization crossed the Demon Hunter’s face.
He had just felt that this voice sounded familiar, indeed...
"Aleksey?"
Lann discreetly pulled Pericles up from the marble floor, pushed him behind, and whispered this name.
Cassandra’s brother, a ’Demigod’ raised by the Order Divine Teachings since childhood.
He still wore his dazzling golden armor, a mix of his own strength and aura, just like those figures from Ancient Greek mythology.
But as usual, after Lann said this name, the malicious smile on his face vanished abruptly, replaced by a layer of icy murder intent.
"You’re here too? Don’t mention that nauseatingly weak name again!"
He growled in a furious low voice.
It seemed his emotional outburst caused golden particles to burst forth from his body like particle effects.
This kind of display purely from emotions... could this guy be stronger than Cassandra’s current lineage, or is it that sword of his that enhances his bloodline further?
Could their mother really have given birth to a child with a purebred Elder Race?
Lann’s mouth twitched slightly.
But losing a verbal battle wasn’t his style.
"Oh, a rebellious kid doesn’t want to be called an unimpressive name, is it?"
Lann subtly waved a hand backward, and Rong Buqiu immediately understood, helping the weak Pericles, who could hardly stand, to leave the Parthenon Temple.
Rong Buqiu turned back to look with concern as he walked.
Aleksey... or rather, the name he now self-identifies with more — Demos.
His mouth twisted in anger, veins bulging on his muscular body.
Yet he only stared intently at the Hunter in front of him, disregarding his originally set target, Pericles.
He even raised a hand to stop the three Divine Guards behind him from stepping forward to chase.
He tilted his head, sizing Lann up and down like a hungry wolf eyeing a piece of meat.
"Do you think that just because you slept with her, I would spare you?"
"Do you dare to provoke the greatest Warrior of the Greek World?! The most furious Demigod?!"
"Is that so? Is that what you think? I admit, maybe a little. I have been... with your sister..."
Lann shrugged nonchalantly and pursed his lips, not finishing the sentence.
Because he looked at Demos, whose forehead veins seemed ready to burst.
"But it has little to do with me provoking you, I just genuinely think you’re a bit of a fool."
Lann eyed the tightly clenched fists of Demos, who spoke through gritted teeth.
"Cassandra is not my sister! I am a son of gods! A Demigod!"
At this moment, Lann astutely noticed that the eyes of the three Divine Guards behind him seemed a bit wandering.
And without a doubt, Demos also detected this with his special senses inherited from the Elder Race bloodline.
After a brief silence, Demos suddenly spun around, and who knows when, he had already drawn the Greek Short Sword from his waist, striking upwards from below.
With a "thud," it pierced under the chin of the nearest Divine Guard, bursting through the skull, lifting the helmet on his head!
The remaining two Divine Guards barely had time to react; Demos’s movements were unnaturally fast.
He withdrew the short sword from the first man’s jaw, then sliced open the throat of the second.
The third man’s neck was then caught in Demos’s hand; with a slight clench of his muscular hand, the cervical spine emitted a chilling ’crack’.
Lann silently watched this scene.
Recalling how last time, before he left, Demos had gone alone to the ancient forge to speak with Cassandra without any followers from Divine Teachings or Divine Guards accompanying him...
Perhaps Divine Teachings still didn’t realize that Demos had, by some means, become aware of and acknowledged his identity, meeting Cassandra.
Looks like, to Cassandra, her brother, who has been turned by Divine Teachings into a killing machine... might still have quite a few thoughts of his own.
In an instant, Demos effortlessly dispatched the three Divine Guards as if squashing a mere ant.
He shook off the blood droplets from the golden Greek Short Sword and commented nonchalantly.
"It’s a pity; they heard what they weren’t supposed to. Usually, when I mentioned Cassandra, I’d refer to her as the ’Hawk Trainer’."
"But today, they not only found out about our blood relationship, they also discovered the emotions I revealed... damn."
Demos cast a sidelong glance at Lann behind him, his tone sinister.
"If you weren’t here today, they wouldn’t have heard all this."
"So... you want to say it’s my fault?"
Lann made an exaggerated smile, expressing the absurdity of the notion.
Just then, Rong Buqiu came running on all fours from outside the temple, drawing the Thunder Cat Sword from its back, standing alongside Lann, looking seriously at Demos opposite.
Lann frowned: "Why are you back? Where’s Pericles?"
But Three-Floral Kitten seemed to be quite assertive at this point, speaking with earnestness.
"If we win, then there’s no need for Pericles to leave. But if we lose, he couldn’t go far in his current condition, meow!"
"So, might as well wait outside until the battle is over! A Warrior shouldn’t shy away from battle, meow!"
"The accompanying cat fights with the Hunter!"
And at this point, Demos also turned to face Lann and Rong Buqiu, looking amused.
"You even have a talking cat?"
He coldly sneered and approached step by step, and from the hand holding the golden Greek Short Sword as a starting point, a piercing golden light began to seep out from his body.
"I will carve out your heart and place it before Cassandra. Let her see, that I am the mightiest Demigod of the Greek World!"
"Then, this little cat will become my pet."
"Tsk tsk tsk." Lann clicked his tongue, "That request is so hair-raising, I can’t possibly agree."
"I don’t need your agreement!"
With that, Demos leapt high into the air!
The set of golden armor he wore began to radiate golden light as well!
Only now did Lann realize... this guy wasn’t just wielding a golden short sword from the ancient forge; his entire outfit was made of Ishu Divine Artifacts!
"I will do it myself!"
"Clang!!!"
The Demon Hunter’s pupils constricted! A clear silver light poured out from his waist!
