Chapter 293: Chapter 293: Herald’s True Power

While the power of the herald was limited in the nightmares. That was because the nightmares were connected to the real world through the dreamers.

However that was not the case in the dream space. The dream space was an entirely different realm and there was no limit of power here.

The herald could reveal his true strength without reservations. Ved immediately tried to take the two of them and disappear.

If they woke up they would’ve escaped from the herald but he found out he couldn’t. His power no longer worked.

He couldn’t escape, his entire body shook with fear. Without hesitation he activated the wings of Garuda.

He flew off faster than light since the laws of the heavens didn’t restrict him as much here. However even that was not enough.

The herald grew larger, his body continued expanding. No matter how far Ved flew it seemed as if the herald was right there behind him.

He grew larger than stars, galaxies and continued growing. When he stopped growing he turned towards them and grinned.

Ved gritted his teeth, grabbed Naledi and the boy and threw them away. Just he did a massive black hand appeared above him.

So huge it seemed endless. " NOOOOOOOO." Naledi screamed. Ved closed his eyes and accepted his fate.

Time seemed to slow down,’ I’m sorry.’ he thought as he smiled at her, then something he should’ve expected happened.

His tree materialised behind him, the dragon roared. The tree grew solid with each passing moment.

His image had determined this was the closest he had come to death and the closer to death he got the stronger and more solid his image got.

The roar of the dragon was not silent like always. It sounded like the birth and death of a universe.

Like a billion drums of war, like the screams of death of every creature that ever was and ever to be.

It sounded nothing like a dragons roar. Golden light poured into him making his body grow significantly stronger.

However something else, something he never expected happened. His body turned real.

Avery and Nal on the real world watched and panicked as his body burn illusory and disappear in a split moment.

They didn’t even have time to register what had just happened before he disappeared. His image drew his entire body into the dream world.

He had always known it was possible but the amount of will, mental strength and dream mist that would be needed would be insane.

It would require him to have the power to effect the real world using the power of dreams, basically cause the realms to overlap temporarily.

Fortunately for him his image determined that was the power he would need to survive this.

But it was not enough, with the new power of the dream mist which had grown significantly stronger.

The image reached out and drew Naledi’s body in as well however to do so it would need her permission.

Ved wanted to deny this but unfortunately he didn’t have control over his image. Not when his life was in danger.

It was like an automatic response A.I who’s only function was to keep him alive. Naledi accepted and had her body was drawn in.

All of his other fragments were drawn in as well, however because of the forceful nature they were pulled out of the nightmares.

The nightmares shattered and crumbled, however it didn’t happen fast enough. The herald still managed to kill tens of thousands of humans and spiritual beasts.

Naledi’s fragments merged with her as well. Ved used everything, martial intent, ignition 4x, soul force.

Plus the enhancement of his dragon image, his strength grew to levels he had never reached before.

The tree shook it leaves and branches as if dancing. An armour of bark appeared around him.

The hand continued drawing near to him but everything was happening too slowly. Naledi suddenly appeared next to him.

White wings fluttered gently behind her, the space around them grew cold as snow appeared like gently winter.

Her entire body blazed with blue flames, she was burning her divine flames higher than her soul could handle.

He wanted to dissuade her but he knew how stubborn she was. He knew she would rather die with him than watch him die.

However he desired nothing more than her safety and his image responded. The dragon image poured it golden light into her.

Tree bark appeared over her Valkyrie armour. She extended her arm and her divine flames covered his entire body.

They merged their powers, they looked up and immediately tried to defend themselves. The herald had the power of a creation realm being.

There was no way they could fight him and survive but they would try, it was not like they had a choice in the matter.

" AHHHHHH." They both roared while holding hands or to be more exact she was holding his finger.

Shields appeared above them, ice and wax shields layered on top of each other. Thousands and thousands of them.

Each coated with her divine flame and further strengthened by his dream mist since they were in the dream realm.

They gritted their teeth and hoped the shields would be enough or they would all be dead.

Including the little boy who watched everything with fearful eyes. Unfortunately their hopes were crushed immediately by a massive hand.

The black hand shattered their shields like pieces of fragile glass. They now realised the power of a creation realm.

They tried to retreat but the pressure of the heralds aura pressed on them like literal stars.

It was so powerful he felt the bark armour around him crack. Naledi’s divine flame flickered like a dying bon fire.

Even though divine flames were illogically powerful, the difference between their ranks were too high.

Both their images tried with their might to reduce the effect of the hand’s attack to no avail.

The dream realm itself shook, they felt a terrifying presence trying to stop the herald but something else showed up.

An aura Ved very much recognised, it was the aura of the Nameless whose dream projection he once saw.

The aura almost cracked his soul. He saw Naledi grit her teeth. Fortunately it was occupied dealing with whatever showed up first which he assumed was the heavens.

She turned and looked at him, " I love you." She whispered with a sad smile, having accepted their fates. Ved gritted his teeth.

He broke the very essence of his will, he went against his most basic instinct and shielded her.

In doing so he knew he was going against the foundation of his image.
