Chapter 310: Chapter 310: Possession

Each of the six people on top of the pillars grabbed the chains connected to their pillar and pulled.

Their muscles strained, even together they found it hard to hold Vermilion. Cat used that opportunity to attack.

Her body blurred forward like a ghost and she sent a palm for his chest. The palm was covered by her martial intent.

" Gently fist." Gently fist was a martial technique she had just thought of while fighting Vermilion.

Since she can’t use brute force in this form then she decided to create martial arts she can use.

The palm landed, it force was transmitted directly into her internals shattering all of his organs into blood mist.

A massive hole appeared on his back spewing out the blood and gore. Even the strongest humans would die from such a wound.

Everybody relaxed, they were certain he was dead. He had lost his head and now all of his organs.

However neither Cathra nor Aira relaxed, they could still feel his aura growing stronger with each passing moment.

’ Cat run.’ Aira warned but it was too late, Vermilion’s severed head dissolved into blood and grew back on his neck.

The wound on his back closed and his organs regenated, all of that happened instantly. His muscles expanded.

He ripped off the chains pulling the people holding them off their pillars. The moment they left the pillars the barrier broke.

His arm turned into a blur and he ripped Cat’s heart out. " NOOOOOOOO." Cathra screamed seeing her daughter’s heart in Vermilion’s hand.

She disregarded her own safety and flew at him like a green streak. Cathra was not a fighter but that did not mean she was weak.

Her image bloomed behind her, while others were hesitating to use theirs she used hers immediately without a second thought.

A huge tree with golden leaves gently swayed behind her, the aura of life spread across the entire battlefield.

Vermilion grinned at her and licked the blood off his hand. Cathra took the tiny leaf on her head which was her vessel.

It expanded to the size of a kite and she waved it at him like a fan. Countless leaves appeared and flew at him like blades.

Vermilion merely snapped his finger, a red flame bloomed and burnt all of the leaves to ash.

Cathra’s eyes had turned red, she could feel Cat’s life force disappearing then it was gone.

She stopped, her mind went blank and she stood there frozen. Tears started streaming down her eyes.

Cat’s friends tried to hold themselves but the anger inside them blazed like eternal flames, all they could think about was ripping Vermilion to shreds.

Vermilion watched everything with a mocking grin then he attacked, everybody rushed to stop him but they were too slow.

The monk was out of energy and couldn’t help either. The golden monk who usually had either a blank face or smile gritted his teeth.

For the first time he truly felt hatred, his very soul was disgusted by the presence of whatever Vermilion had become.

Vermilion’s sharp claws were about to cut Cathra’s head off when his head flew through the air instead.

Cat appeared carrying a pinkish red blade, it was constructed from crystallised alcohol, this further reduced her time in this form.

Her breath was ragged and her expression was pale. While she was able to use her ability and negated the damage then hide in the mirror realm, having her heart ripped out was a lot.

She really wished she was drunk right now so her sense of fear would be muted because she was currently scared shitless.

She looked around at the people around them, 34, there were 34 projection realm experts of more than above average strength, all facing Vermilion yet she had a feeling they would lose.

She grabbed her mother who was still in shock and retreated, Haruko grabbed the monk and retreated as well.

Aira took out a bottle of blue liquid and gave it to the monk. This was an essence potion, they were rare and dangerous if drank too much.

However they were able to regenate lost essence rapidly. The monk took a large gulp of it.

In only a few moments his face was no longer pale and he stood upright. He addressed everybody.

" Benefactors, I admire your courage but I’m afraid it’s time for you to leave, I will take care of the rest."

The monk like everybody else knew they couldn’t defeat Vermilion so he planned to hold him back until everybody else was gone.

They could all see the resolve in his eyes but they knew it was hopeless, Vermilion cannot even be killed.

Aira shook her head, " I don’t think that’s it, there must be something else going on here, nobody is unkillable."

Vermilion heard her and laughed, " Smart as always miss Aira, I’m not unkillable, unfortunately for you, you don’t have the means to kill me." He grinned showing his fangs.

" Retreat." Aira shouted but it was too late, a dome of blood red fire appeared and trapped them in.

She gritted her teeth and tried to teleport them out but it didn’t work. The dome prevented her teleportation.

Siri suddenly shook with fear, as a tamer she was very sensitive to souls, infact she had eyes that can see souls.

It was how she was able to tame powerful beasts as easily as she could. Right now she was seeing something within Vermilion’s soul.

Something dark, large and ancient. A presence so vast her eyes could not even see it full form and it was waking up and rising.

" No no no no." She held her head and screamed alerting the others. " Siri what’s wrong?" Haruko rushed to her side worried.

" No, what are doing, this was not our deal." Vermilion screamed drawing everybody’s attention.

Deep in his soul a humanoid being with long red hair and bleeding eyes looked at him with a cold face.

" You are a fool little mortal, who are you to negotiate with me? As penance for your insolence I will take your body.

Fear not, your pathetic soul will live, for now." The massive being enveloped Vermilion’s soul taking over his body.

Outside, Vermilion stood up and rotated his shoulders. " Good body." A strange voice whispered in a cold tone from his mouth.

Then Vermilion or the being inside him raised his head and looked at them with cold eyes.

" Now, which one of you should I kill first?"
