Chapter 216: Chapter : 216 : New Life!

Nyxion lay on the bed, breath coming in shallow, uneven pulls.

Her dark skin glistened faintly with sweat, the deep crimson flush on her cheeks looking almost feverish against her usual cool composure. Each inhale seemed to cost her visible effort—her full chest rising and falling faster than normal, the thin silk sheet clinging to the heavy curves of her breasts, outlining every labored breath.

Aiden sat beside the bed on a wooden chair that had been dragged close, his posture tense despite how gently he held her hand.

His thumb traced slow, careful circles against her palm—grounding, steady—like he was afraid that if he stopped, she might slip further away.

"I’m here," he murmured softly. "You’re not alone."

Nyxion turned her head just enough to look at him, crimson eyes hazy but focused. "I know, Heart Lord," she whispered, voice weak but sincere. "I can feel you."

Luna leaned against Aiden from behind, her soft, swollen breasts pressed warmly against his back, arms loosely wrapped around his neck. Her chin rested on his shoulder as she peered down at Nyxion with quiet worry.

Her tail lay still against the floor—an unusual stillness for her.

"She smells like when I was sick," Luna said quietly, voice small. "Before I knew."

Aiden’s jaw tightened slightly. He nodded, not taking his eyes off Nyxion. "I was thinking the same thing."

The room was full.

Too full.

But no one wanted to leave.

Arisha stood near the foot of the bed, arms folded, expression serious and alert like she was guarding a battlefield instead of a bedroom.

Thristle leaned against the wall nearby, unusually quiet, her usual grin replaced with concern, arms crossed beneath her generous chest.

Selvara stood beside her, arms crossed, eyes sharp and calculating.

Lysandra sat on the edge of the bed, Leona resting comfortably in her lap. She stroked her daughter’s hair absently while watching Nyxion with a softness that only deepened with worry, her own full breasts rising gently with each quiet breath.

Leona leaned forward slightly, tiny hands clutching Lysandra’s sleeve. "Ny-Mummy looks tired."

Lysandra smiled gently, brushing a strand of hair from Leona’s face. "She is, my little dragon. But she’s strong."

"I can help!" Leona said earnestly, eyes wide. "Daddy always says strong people need help too."

Nyxion managed a faint smile. "Thank you... Leona."

Liri stood close to the bed, hands clasped nervously in front of her. Noir hovered just behind her, peeking out from behind Liri’s shoulder, small fingers twisting the hem of her dress.

"Will she be okay?" Liri asked softly, wings fluttering anxiously.

Aethoniel nodded quickly, wings fluttering with anxious energy. "S-She will. Benefactor always makes things okay."

Venya sat cross-legged on the floor near the bed, tail swaying slowly. "Venya thinks she just needs rest," she said cheerfully, though her eyes kept darting back to Nyxion. "And maybe snacks."

Zerra leaned against a pillar, arms crossed tightly beneath her chest. "If this is what I think it is, she’ll be fine."

Valeforia stood beside her, hands folded, eyes closed in quiet prayer or focus.

Xylendra stood beside her, finger clinched against her side, "She will. I know she will."

Vegia stood near the head of the bed, eyes closed, staff resting lightly against the floor as she concentrated.

Beside her, Nayla mirrored the posture—one hand raised slightly, eyes shut, expression unusually solemn for her, the deep plunge of her gown revealing the heavy swell of her breasts rising with each slow breath.

The room was quiet except for Nyxion’s breathing.

Aiden squeezed her hand gently. "Does anything hurt?"

Nyxion nodded faintly. "Everything feels... heavy. Like my body is trying to protect something."

Luna’s ears twitched. She leaned closer, voice barely above a whisper. "That’s exactly what it felt like."

Aiden exhaled slowly.

The thought settled heavier in his chest.

The children shifted closer.

Ivy clasped her hands together. "You’ll get better, right? Edda-Onee-Chan makes soup that fixes everything."

Nyxion chuckled weakly. "I’ll hold you to that."

Noir stepped forward, small hands clenched. "I hope you’re okay. You’re... nice."

Nyxion turned her head slightly. "Thank you, Noir."

The warmth in the room grew—not heat, but presence. Care. Family.

Then Vegia’s eyes opened.

At the same time, Nayla’s did too.

They looked at each other.

Then spoke in unison.

"She is pregnant."

Silence crashed into the room.

Aiden froze.

Luna gasped softly, tail flicking once in surprise.

Thristle’s jaw dropped. "...Wait. Really?"

Arisha blinked once. "That explains the symptoms."

Zerra let out a slow breath. "Called it."

Valeforia smiled softly, hands lifting to her chest. "A new life."

Xylendra gave a sigh of relief.

Lysandra’s eyes softened instantly as she looked at Nyxion. "That’s why it feels familiar."

Leona clapped her hands. "A baby?!"

Nyxion stared at the ceiling, stunned. "...Pregnant?"

Aiden leaned forward, disbelief and awe tangling in his voice. "Nyxion...?"

Her breathing slowed just a little as realization settled in. She turned her head toward him, eyes wide, vulnerable.

"Heart Lord... is that true?"

He swallowed, then smiled—gentle, warm, overwhelming. "Looks like it."

Tears welled in her eyes. Not fear. Not pain.

Relief.

"I felt strange," she whispered. "I thought I was failing you."

Aiden stood and carefully sat on the edge of the bed, still holding her hand. "Never. You’re carrying our child."

Luna tightened her arms around his neck from behind, smiling softly. "You did great."

Nyxion’s lips trembled. "I... I don’t know what to do."

Aiden brushed his thumb over her knuckles. "You rest. We take care of everything else."

Venya beamed. "Venya will help!"

Thristle snorted. "Guess the house is getting louder."

Selvara nodded once. "We’ll adjust."

Nayla smiled knowingly. "Congratulations, Nyxion."

Vegia exhaled, tension leaving her shoulders. "Her fever will pass. It’s the body adjusting."

Xylendra said, "I-I’m happy for you, Nyxion..." she mumbled, ears flicking back shyly. "A baby... that’s... that’s really wonderful..."

She glanced at Aiden, then quickly away, cheeks burning darker.

"And... um... congratulations, Savior..."

Aiden’s expression softened further. "Thank you, Xylendra."

She fidgeted, "I-I just... I hope the baby is strong like you... and beautiful like Nyxion..."

Nyxion reached out weakly, and Xylendra hurried forward to take her hand.

"Thank you," Nyxion whispered.

Xylendra’s replied shyly. "Y-You’re welcome... I’ll... I’ll make sure there’s always something sweet for you to eat. For the baby."

Nyxion smiled faintly. "You’re sweet."

Xylendra ducked her head, cheeks flaming. "N-No I’m not... I just... want to help..."

The warmth in the room deepened.

Nyxion finally relaxed back into the pillows, eyes closing as the weight lifted from her chest.

Nyxion shifted slightly against the pillows, her breathing steadier now, eyes clearer.

She glanced toward the foot of the bed, where the children lingered—Liri holding Ivy’s hand, Noir half-hiding behind her, Leona perched proudly near Lysandra.

Nyxion smiled softly. "Hey... little stars," she said, voice gentle but firm. "Why don’t you all go play outside for a bit?"

Leona tilted her head. "Outside?"

"Yes," Nyxion replied, smiling wider. "Run. Laugh. Tell the sky secrets."

Noir blinked. "Are you okay?"

Nyxion nodded. "I will be. I promise."

Liri looked at Aiden, then back at Nyxion. "We’ll come back later?"

Aiden smiled warmly. "Of course. Go have fun."

The four of them nodded together.

"Okay!" Leona declared, hopping down. "Come on!"

They filed out in a small, chattering cluster—Leona leading, Liri gently guiding, Ivy skipping, Noir glancing back once before following.

The door closed softly behind them.

For a moment, the room felt quieter.

Warmer.

Aiden let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding and smiled down at Nyxion. "They really listen to you."

Nyxion watched the door for a heartbeat longer... then turned her gaze to him.

Her smile changed.

Not weak.

Not tired.

Grateful.

She reached out, wrapped both arms around his neck, and pulled him closer.

Aiden blinked. "Nyx—"

She kissed him.

Not gentle.

Not hesitant.

Her lips pressed into his with raw emotion, relief spilling over as her fingers threaded into his hair, tugging him down just enough to close the space completely.

Her tongue slipped past his lips—slow, teasing, tasting him like she was memorizing every inch all over again.

Aiden froze for half a second—then melted, one hand bracing on the mattress, the other cupping her cheek as he kissed her back.

"Mmm... look at you two melting into each other. So sweet it’s almost sickening. Should I be jealous, or should I just enjoy the show?"

Behind him, Luna made a small, offended sound.

"H-Hey..." she groaned cutely, still wrapped around his shoulders. "Master..."

She leaned in, pouting exaggeratedly, and kissed his neck, nibbling lightly just beneath his ear.

"I was here first," she mumbled, voice muffled against his skin. "You can’t just forget about me because Nyxion’s all glowy and pregnant now."

Aiden let out a breathless laugh against Nyxion’s lips. "You’re always here."

Nyxion smiled against his mouth, breaking the kiss just long enough to whisper—voice low, teasing, dripping with satisfaction: "Mmm... jealous already, Luna? Don’t worry. There’s plenty of him to go around."

Luna huffed, ears flattening.

Nyxion smiled against his mouth, "Thank you."

"For what?" he asked softly.

"For choosing me," she said. "For this. For our child."

Her voice wavered for just a second.

Then she kissed him again, shorter this time, forehead resting against his.

Luna huffed, tail flicking. "I’m happy for you," she said, trying to sound dignified. "Really. I am."

She pressed her cheek against his shoulder. "But I’m also... a little jealous."

Nyxion chuckled—soft, wicked—nipping Aiden’s lower lip lightly before kissing him again, deeper this time, letting her tongue play lazily against his.

Nayla moaned at them, "Nngh... hearing you groan into her mouth is doing terrible things to me again. I thought I was satisfied, but apparently my body disagrees."

Luna whined, pressing herself tighter against Aiden’s back, breasts squishing warmly against him.

"Master... you’re supposed to kiss me too..."

Aiden broke the kiss with Nyxion just long enough to turn his head and catch Luna’s lips in a quick, sweet kiss—gentle but firm.

Luna sighed happily into it, tail wagging once.

When he pulled back, Nyxion was smirking.

"See? Plenty to go around."

"Aww, Luna’s tail is wagging so hard it’s practically a blur." Nayla teased her.

Across the room—

Arisha, Selvara, Zerra, and Thristle all slowly lifted their heads in perfect unison.

Their eyes shimmered dramatically.

Sniff.

Arisha crossed her arms tightly, voice wobbling just a little. "I am truly happy for her."

She sniffed again. "But... I would also like a baby."

Selvara nodded stiffly, eyes suspiciously wet. "This is unfair."

Zerra wiped under one eye with her thumb. "I’m not crying. I just... want one too."

Thristle slammed her fist into her palm. "My king! I demand equal opportunity!"

The room went still.

Then—

Lysandra coughed softly into her hand, smiling nervously. "You’ll all get your time."

Vegia laughed nervously. "Patience."

Valeforia smiled serenely. "The house is already full of love."

Venya bounced slightly where she sat. "Venya thinks more babies sound fun!"

Aethoniel nodded rapidly. "Y-Yes... babies are... good."

"Aww, everyone’s getting broody now. How cute. Guess I’ll have to start taking notes... or maybe just take him again tonight." Nayla added.

Nyxion pulled back just enough to look at them all, cheeks flushed, eyes shining.

She raised two fingers in a small peace sign.

"Soon," she said playfully. "One miracle at a time."

Thristle groaned. "I accept this... temporarily."

Aiden shook his head, laughing softly, overwhelmed and full all at once.

Nyxion leaned in again, resting her forehead against his.

"Stay with me," she murmured.

"Always," he replied without hesitation.

Behind him, Luna tightened her hold just a bit more.
