Chapter 335 - On Par with the Ten Great Beastmaster Kings

The second battle exceeded everyone's expectations, just like the first one did, making the crowd tremble.

What kind of colossal joke was this? A second-generation beastmaster with the potential of reaching Legendary was defeated in seconds, and Lu Ran’s new familiar didn’t even have a scratch on it.

"Bravo!" a first-generation beastmaster exclaimed. "He used his powerful foundation to pressure the opponent and reduce their morale, before using the Dragon King’s aura to completely break them down mentally.

“Such a combo is significantly more devastating than a more conventional strategy.”

"This strongest beastmaster of the fourth generation has quite an outstanding talent for combat!”

"This is the true strength of the peak fourth-generation beastmaster."

Before, people maintained the opinion that Lu Ran was unlucky to get matched with a gatekeeper who was on the path to becoming a Legendary beastmaster. No matter how crazy talented he was, his opponent was an established beastmaster with excellent potential as well. However...

Not everyone with Legendary potential is the same!

Lu Ran wasn’t the only one to clear a Legendary secret realm, but he was able to do so alone as a fourth-generation beastmaster. Thus, it made sense that he was able to completely suppress second- and third-generation beastmasters who were part of Legendary secret realm raid teams. No one had foreseen this clash between beastmasters of such caliber.

"Save him!"

Lu Ran called for his next opponent as Chris was carted off the stage.

Over in the prep room, Takagi Shu, the next gatekeeper, was watching the match and couldn’t help but feel nervous.

This monstrous fella from the Xia Empire...

He didn't have the slightest confidence in defeating Chris in seconds.

Seeing Sudden Death King’s terrifying defense, Takagi Shu's thoughts ran wild. He hurriedly analyzed his own familiars to see who he should send up to give him some hope for victory.

Will Lu Ran send out his dragon again?

After a while, Takagi Shu finally walked out of the prep room slowly.

Although he tried his best to hide it, it was noticeable that the pressure was getting to him.

"God Lu is too amazing."

"If this goes on, then the third level shouldn’t be an issue either."

Beastmasters from Xia were teeming with excitement.

Fang Lan and the Lu villagers breathed a sigh of relief, while Gu Qingyi and the other Zodiacs nodded in approval.

"This guy needs to experience what it’s like to plummet from the sky repeatedly," Pig God mumbled.

In sharp contrast, President Pari was extremely distressed. He felt that the previous gatekeepers were really useless, but he endured his frustration. If Lu Ran lost so easily in the first three levels, then it would be a waste for him to pay such a high price for Jack.

He glanced over at Jack, the number one second-generation beastmaster. He was assured by Jack’s calm demeanor and calmed down a bit.

"Are you going to swap out your familiar?" Takagi Shu asked as he got in the ring.

"Do I need to? This will be over in a second. I’ll switch in another familiar after this so that they all get a chance to have some exercise.”

"You..."

Hearing Lu Ran's arrogant words infuriated Takagi Shu.

Many of the viewers were also shocked by the statement.

Many members of the Golden Generation looked at him with envy, as he truly had the power to back up his arrogance.

"I’ve seen through your strategy, and you’ll pay for looking down on me!"

Takagi Shu calmed himself as he realized that Lu Ran’s taunts were just a tactic to pressure him.

Lu Ran's performance so far and his confidence put a great deal of pressure on him. Against the power of the Dragon King, he knew that he was in for a tough time, but he had no intentions of giving up.

"The next round is about to begin. Xia Empire’s Lu Ran versus Takagi Shu!" the referee declared as Takagi Shu summoned his familiar.

Takagi’s overall strength was obviously better than Chris’ as he was the leader of a two-man team that cleared a Legendary secret realm. He was definitely talented, or else the organizers wouldn’t have agreed to have him as a gatekeeper.

He had a very unique familiar to boot. It was a huge four-headed snake that was dozens of meters long. It had a sturdy physique and was covered with dark blue scales.

[Species: Four-Headed Hydra]

[Attributes: Spirit, Dark, Poison, Water]

[Species Rank: Superior King]

[Level: 50]

It gave off a strange and evil aura, much like Lu Ran’s Twin Crows.

Lu Ran actually smiled a bit when he saw his opponent’s familiar. He had investigated Takagi before the fight and knew that he had two other familiars that were of similar strength.

Having seen Takagi’s choice of familiar, Lu Ran already had a rough guess of his strategy.

He must be planning to rely on his familiar’s Spirit attribute to counter Sudden Death King’s dragon aura.

Additionally, combining the Poison and Dark attributes results in adding a strong corrosion effect to its attack, which he probably wants to use to wear down Sudden Death King’s defense.

Too bad he’s too naive.

"What a waste of time." Lu Ran yawned while the countdown for the fight began. "This is your last round, Sudden Death King. Go for a one-hit KO."

Roar!

Sudden Death King roared and then gave Lu Ran a nod.

No problem. I’ll finally be able to nap after this. I’ll leave the last two enemies for Dark Crow and Captain Doofus.

It narrowed its eyes and glared at the hydra.

Lu Ran’s words once again made Takagi scoff in anger.

You want to win with a single hit? I want to see how you’ll do that.

Soon, the signal sounded to mark the beginning of the fight.

Sudden Death King stretched out its arm and wagged a finger to taunt the Four-Headed Hydra.

Roar!

The four heads roared in unison at the provocation, causing the air around them to tremble. A poison mist began to spread out from the hydra and cover the stage.

As the mist approached it, Sudden Death King drew its arms back closer to its body.

Have you ever hit the ground at 53 meters per second?

Sudden Death King wasn’t fazed in the slightest as a terrifying dark red energy wrapped around its body. It had a seemingly limitless supply of energy that continuously surged out of its body.

Beastmasters in the crowd who were familiar with Sudden Death King assumed that it would shape the energy into some kind of armor, but contrary to their beliefs, the energy collapsed on itself and began to compress inward.

Boom!

In a few brief moments, the energy was compressed thirty times with no signs of stopping. It continued to compress and gave Sudden Death King a dark red glow that made it appear demonic.

The easiest way to tell how far energy has been compressed was to look at the ripples it let out. The energy was rapidly approaching forty times density.

"It can actually compress energy down forty times!"

"What a shocking power."

"How did it practice something like that? The record for energy compression is only a little over forty times!"

"It could have something to do with its powerful defense. It looks like it can bear the physical load of the high energy density."

The two determining factors of how far one could compress energy were energy control and physical strength!

The audience started sweating as they continued to watch as Sudden Death King compressed the energy further and further.

41 times... 42... 45...

After being compressed so much, the energy raged violently and indiscriminately wreaked havoc on the surroundings. Everyone was aware of Sudden Death King’s formidable defense, but its scales still started to crack under the pressure.

The poison mist was naturally obliterated when it got too close and couldn’t touch Sudden Death King at all.

The energy fluctuations around the Sudden Death King became increasingly terrifying.

Soon, it reached fifty times compression!

Blood was seeping out of its damaged scales, but it ultimately managed to compress energy down fifty times. Unfortunately, although it had a strong enough physique, its energy control was far behind Captain Doofus’.

Fifty times was really its limit, but this was still more than enough.

By now, even many first-generation beastmasters didn’t know how to react.

50 times energy compression! Was this kid holding back against me?

Pig God contemplated.

"That arena master from the Snow Federation could only compress energy down to forty times," Dean Qin commented to President Youxiong in the audience.

"Yeah. Although Lu Ran's Dragon King injured itself to achieve fifty times compression, it’s still a terrifying achievement. It isn’t an exaggeration to say that he’s now on par with the Ten Great Beastmaster Kings," President Youxiong analyzed.

Everyone turned to look at the third gatekeeper. Takagi Shu originally didn’t believe that Lu Ran could beat him with one attack, and now he was filled with a different kind of disbelief.

Takagi Shu’s face paled as he watched Sudden Death King use a technique that put it on the same level as the Ten Great Beastmaster Kings.

Forget dragon aura—the violent energy surrounding Sudden Death King alone was enough to give him a heart attack.

"Hey, do you really need to get that serious?” Takagi Shu asked.

Sudden Death King responded by transferring all of its energy into its fist. After injuring itself, it met the conditions for activating the Heavenly Dragon Meteor Fist.

Boom!

Sudden Death King punched out, and the image of a meteor surrounded it. The stage that had stayed intact so far was torn apart. Chunks of stone flew into the air as the deadly attack pushed forward.

The hydra did its best to resist, but with no effect.

The Dragon Meteor Fist destroyed everything in its path. Takagi sent out a Spirit-attribute familiar to counter Sudden Death King’s Dragon attribute, but unfortunately for him, Sudden Death King’s strongest attack didn’t utilize dragon aura.

Kaboom!

Every bone in the Four-Headed Hydra’s body was shattered as it struck the barrier surrounding the stage.

"Holy shit!”

After an initial moment of shock, the entire audience fell into silence.

Lu Ran couldn’t help but purse his lips.

It’s just fifty times compression. Is it really that serious?
