Beastmaster of the Ages-Chapter 3480 - Wormhole Expressway

After tens of millions of years, some infinitum-class worlds would have perished. As such, there was no guarantee that the star map was up to date, but it wouldn't be too far off.

"Even Skydome’s here! Damn!" Tianming also noticed the Infinitum Mundus and Ebonia next to it. "The Blissful Union has been to Ebonia, too? Doesn't that mean the valley lord would've found my home if he had obtained the ship?"

Even though he wasn't afraid of the valley lord while he was in Infinitum, he would still be unable to defend it if the valley lord just snuck his way there while Tianming wasn't around. Obtaining the Blissful Union had spared him that trouble.

"Thanks to this star map, I can simply order the ship to cruise to a star of my choosing without needing to pilot it. There's another crucial function here.... Let's see what it's about." He had noticed an additional function that other astralships didn't possess: the wormhole expressway. All he knew was that it was a function that let the ship traverse through vast stretches of space with blinding speed, but he had no idea to what extent it meant.

The astralscape of order was far too vast, with many places between clusters of stars being desolate voids. Not even the fastest astralships could help one travel faster than the Myriadpath Celestial Formation; even the wonderians' Dreamchild would take more than ten years to travel from Skydome to Infinitum, let alone the rest of the Million Mundi.

As for the distance between the Yin-Yang World and Myriadpath Valley, it was as far as the distance of a myriad of mundi. He hadn't heard of the Grand Myriadpath Ruins having any wormhole function, either.

"Alright, let's try it out." Curiously, he activated the wormhole expressway function with the formation in his body. The Blissful Union stopped moving altogether, seemingly having transitioned to a different state. At its core, large swathes of yin-yang essence surged and entered the divine astralship formation, charging up the ship as if it had entered an offensive state. Then, all the infinitum-class stars and Myriadpath Valley shone brightly on the map.

"Is it asking me to select a destination?" Immediately, he picked the closest infinitum-class world.

"The wormhole expressway is going to initiate. Destination: Tumermound! Sit tight!" It was the familiar voice of the monochrome figurine.

Before Tianming managed to react, the astralship suddenly shook and shot through space like a bullet, accelerating faster and faster. He looked outside and saw stars rapidly shooting past him. The ship was already much faster than the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb at that moment, but it was still accelerating! The massive sphere seemed to have blended together with the void around it.

"So this is the wormhole expressway, eh...." Right as Tianming was in awe, he heard the ship's voice again.

"Soon entering: the wormhole expressway!" Apparently, it hadn't even begun yet.

"What is that?" Tianming widened his eyes and seemed to see pitch-black space explode into colorful starlight. It was as if a cloudy flower of stars bloomed out of nowhere! Within it, Tianming saw many formation diagrams formed of really dense divine celestial patterns with complexity rivaling those of the Myriadpath Celestial Formation, or perhaps even surpassing them!

With his mouth agape in awe, he was entirely swallowed up by the light of the formation. The next instant, the Blissful Union crashed into the cloudy flower, which was followed by incessant humming. Looking out, it seemed like they were traveling through a tunnel of rainbows. The rapid shifting in colors seemed to reflect the speed at which they traveled.

Tianming had the feeling that the Blissful Union was traveling in a higher spatial dimension of some sort... like a hyper space. "What in the world?"

His face was glued to the windows of the ship, illuminated by all the colors outside. Ying Huo and the rest were just as stunned as he was as they looked at the rainbow pathway. It was the kind of shock that made them entirely forget the passage of time.

It didn't take long before a black-colored hole appeared at the front of the pathway all of a sudden. Right after the Blissful Union exited the hole, it began decelerating as if it had hit emergency brakes. Its hull 'rubbed' against the space around it, the ship ramming straight through a lot of debris around them until it reached an eventual stop. Everything around it was completely quiet.

"The wormhole expressway has closed!" said the voice.

"Huh? Huuuh? Huuuuh?" Tianming looked around him, seeing what appeared to be a normal sight in the astralscape. Unlike the Yin-Yang World, there were actually signs of life. He looked ahead and saw a dark purple infinitum-class world. "Tumermound?"

He couldn't believe it. Even though it was the closest infinitum-class world to the Yin-Yang World, he had thought it would take quite a long time to get to go there even with an astralship. But instead, they had only spent ten days in the wormhole expressway!

Tianming had thought that as long as the ship was ten times faster than an infinitum-class ship, it would be amazing enough. But something even more ridiculous had happened. He left the ship and looked closely at the world in disbelief. It was indeed Tumermound!

"Does the wormhole expressway work like the Myriadpath Celestial Formation?" The Myriadpath Celestial Formation could teleport people to different locations; did the wormhole expressway do the same for entire astralships? The implications were so shocking that he couldn't find the words for it.

Just as he was still reeling over from shock and doubt, he saw a paper of light form before his eyes. The ship said, "Let's say this paper is a map of the entire astralscape of order. If you fold the paper, you can bring two points on both ends of the paper really close together. One will be overlapping with the other."

"Go on," Tianming said.

The paper of light folded together, bringing two shining points together as the ship had explained. Then a sword pierced through the two points, linking them together. "By bending space itself and making a hole through it, you generate the wormhole expressway. The ship travels through the 'sword' and arrives at the destination much as it would by teleportation."

Tianming was completely stupefied by the explanation.
