Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 182: Back to the tribe
Their leisurely day ended quickly. Faster than they anticipated. The sun shone down on the small world around them. They stared out at the plants circling the clearing where the sanctum stood. They were ready to go to war with the plants.
As soon as they stepped out, it began. The plants lashed at them, as though they could sense they had caused trouble. But what surprised the trio was how easily they were able to overcome. The plants that were once difficult for them now felt as though they were tickling them.
Xeno was the first to try to use his abilities. His roar caused the plants to be torn apart. This led to Uri using his devouring ability. And Visha using her Rite of Vitality. Uri found that using his devour ability could help him replenish strength. As for Visha, the rite was no longer about calming plants. She was able to extend the power to use it as a whip.
Fighting their way through the plants with their abilities, they moved steadily. Before the day’s end, they found their way out of the Verdant Maw. They continued their journey until night fell.
"Today...was too easy," Xeno remarked.
"It was. It appears vital energy will be useful in the future. We should teach the pack," Uri suggested.
Xeno hummed. "But what about the others? The River Clan and the Stone-horns have been staying with our pack. The plants are a threat to them, too."
"Make them join. That’s the simplest and easiest way," Visha shrugged. "While it is not the best suggestion, we don’t know much about vital energy now. There is a library in the system. I want to check it and see what I can find."
"Then we wait. Until we understand what we are doing, we will not tell anyone, pack or otherwise," Uri said.
"One thing at a time, I guess." Visha relaxed, resting her head on Uri’s lap.
Uri nodded, stroking her hair.
"They’ll notice the difference," Xeno replied, stretching.
"They might, but we do have to give a definite answer," Uri said. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Xeno and Visha agreed, and the topic ended there. This was not something they could deal with lightly. Power like this should be dealt with carefully. Vishe thought of the Crest Stage from the system. If there is a Crest stage, there must be stages above it.
They did not dwell on the topic. They had only spent one day resting. They knew once they returned to the pack, they needed to leave again. The heavy winter would most likely catch them on their way back from the Ram tribe.
As for why they were so adamant about going to the Ram tribe, it was simply because they did not know the consequences of leaving those partners and cubs in the Ram tribe over a period of time. If, as Roc said, their leader would use these people as hostages, they may be in for a struggle.
The journey back to the tribe was faster than to the maw. The arduous week became a somewhat tranquil three days. As they approached their territory, they could hear the fighting.
Thinking the Stonefang Pack had come to bother their pack, they moved faster. Figures blurred as they raced towards the caldera. What greeted them was chaos. Plants and beasts alike were having a battle royale.
Tigers, Goats, Rams, Wolves, all fighting a battle. It was obvious that the wolves did not have many allies. The tigers, goats, and rams worked together to overcome the wolves and avoid the plants. The wolves attempted to attack but were retaliated against.
Xeno didn’t hesitate, seeing his people needed help. He jumped into the fight, getting rid of plants he knew others wouldn’t be able to touch. Visha and Uri also joined, aiding in killing the plants. As for the wolves, they believed their own people could handle them. Seeing the battle drawing to a close, the remaining wolves tucked their tails and ran.
When the pack saw who had helped them, they couldn’t help but cheer. Their leaders had returned. Though apprehensive about the way they looked, it was obvious they were stronger than before.
The plants that they had so much trouble pushing back were eliminated by them.
"Take everyone inside," Visha called. "I’ll heal them once everyone is in."
They quickly picked up their companions. They worked steadily, ensuring that all their people had been collected and placed in the square. As for the wolves, Uri and Xeno went through their ranks, searching for any that might be alive.
Once they found them, they bound them with the vines from the plants they killed and dragged them along the ground. They would interrogate them when they were conscious.
Standing in the square, Visha gathers vital energy at her fingertips. She used it to heal the people lying in front of her. Whereas before it most of her strength to heal a few people. With the introduction of vital energy, healing the group of people did not take much of her energy.
"Let them rest, we’ll talk tomorrow," Visha said to the other pack members.
Krag and Chi stood a distance away, watching the changes in the three people. Both smiled. They knew the reason the trio left. They had not expected them to be back so soon. But it was for the best. They could spend the last winter with them.
As they saw the trio enter their home, they followed. There was a lot they needed to talk about. While the pack is resting, this is the best time for them to tell them what they can.
As they walked, Krag reminded Chi, "Don’t say too much. The less they know, the better."
"I know. I still find it funny seeing the three of them together like this," Chi giggled.
"Maybe they’ll remember one day. If they do, I’ll give Uri hell," Krag chuckled.
They walked towards the trio’s house, laughing softly to themselves.
