Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 332: Finding the Door
Ariana hurriedly shook her head again and again. "No, no... I’m fine."
Silvanus nodded, gave a brief warning to be careful, then continued leading the way forward.
This land was vast and flat—no hills, no obstacles—only endless, frigid ice and snow.
Just then, a loud voice suddenly rang out from behind them.
"Oh, what a coincidence, huh? I knew it—you’re after the top 1 too."
Silvanus and the others turned around, and sure enough, they saw Nana standing there.
She seemed to have regained her composure, no longer the furious mess she’d been before.
At her side, only three subordinates remained—two were missing.
Silvanus looked at Nana and suddenly asked, "So you mean whoever finds that door first gets first place?"
Nana looked at him in surprise, apparently not expecting Silvanus to be unaware of that fact. Then she laughed.
"Well, I suppose that makes sense. People like you have probably never even seen a competition like this before. Of course, you wouldn’t know."
She flipped a strand of her hair back and gave Silvanus a mocking look.
Silvanus didn’t want to waste time dealing with her, but Ariana stepped forward, frowning. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Nana, don’t go too far!"
Nana raised an eyebrow at her and laughed. "Oh my, the useless daughter of the Samson family."
"Haha, you’re so pathetic you actually had to seek help from a commoner? My god. Your family must be dying of shame right now."
Ariana pressed her lips together, her face flushing red with anger. Her eyes fell, trying to hide the sting of humiliation.
Suddenly, a hand pushed her gently back.
Silvanus stepped forward, standing face-to-face with Nana. "You really do enjoy picking on others, don’t you?"
Nana sneered. "Picking on? I call it treating everyone according to their place. A commoner like you..."
Her gaze swept over Silvanus as she smirked. "Just hearing a commoner speak is already enough to dirty my ears."
Anyone who knew the Aurellan family—and Lady Nana in particular—knew that the slaves in her manor didn’t have tongues.
To her, commoners and slaves weren’t even worthy of being called "people."
At that moment, Silvanus suddenly stomped his foot against the ground.
Instantly, the ice beneath him began to crack apart, splitting into countless jagged fissures that raced straight toward the front!
The fractures spread rapidly, glowing with blinding light as they went.
"Boom! Boom! Crack!"
The sound of shattering ice echoed again and again, and in moments, the frozen ground beneath Nana’s group completely split apart!
Nana’s eyes widened as her hands dropped, a brilliant light flaring from her palms.
All around her, panicked screams erupted from her subordinates. Nana herself stood upon a glowing magic circle, hovering above the water’s surface. The light beneath her shimmered, making her hair flutter gently in the wind.
She lifted her gaze—only to see Silvanus smiling at her, raising a hand in mock greeting.
"Well then, annoying young lady—farewell."
With that, he grabbed Matthew with one hand and Ariana with the other, swiftly flying out of Nana’s sight.
Veins bulged on Nana’s forehead in fury. She stomped down hard on the magic circle beneath her feet and roared, "Bastard!"
In the next instant, the light around her turned into glowing threads that lashed out, yanking her subordinates from the icy water and flinging them onto solid ground.
They groaned in pain, shivering violently from the cold.
Nana walked forward slowly. With every step she took upon the water, a new magic circle appeared beneath her feet, supporting her weight.
Click.
She stepped onto unbroken ice again, then glanced at the three subordinates lying before her.
"Enough. Useless trash—get lost."
The moment her words fell, the three men immediately bowed their heads, gritted their teeth, and crushed their Lumins.
They were nothing more than slaves from the Aurellan family—carefully chosen by Nana to enter this trial as her disposable helpers. Now that they had lost their use, their dismissal was only natural.
"She’s the youngest daughter of the Aurellan family," Ariana said softly, as if explaining to Silvanus. "She’s also the one said to be the future heir of the family."
"The youngest daughter... but she is heir..." Ariana murmured.
Despite having many older brothers and sisters—each far more senior—Lord Aurellan had declared from the moment Nana could understand words that she would be the one to inherit his position.
Silvanus glanced at Ariana. "You seem to admire the strong, don’t you?"
Ariana blinked in surprise, staring at him. Silvanus went on calmly, "Even though Nana insulted you so harshly, even though you were furious, you still can’t help but praise her."
Ariana lowered her eyes, murmuring softly, "That’s because I’ll never be like her."
The countdown indicated that there were two hours left before the competition zone would be closed entirely.
Yet, there was still no sign—no clue whatsoever—of the door leading out.
Matthew’s and Ariana’s footsteps were growing heavier.
Ariana was beginning to falter, while Matthew pressed his lips tightly together, forcing himself to keep walking, his heart trembling with unease.
He was afraid... afraid that if he failed to make it into the top 2000 and couldn’t find the exit, he would be separated from Silvanus—and lose his chance to attend Lumina.
But he clearly possessed strong Light affinity; all he lacked was one thing—just one opportunity!
The moment that thought crossed Matthew’s mind, Silvanus’s footsteps ahead of them suddenly came to a halt.
Ariana quickly stepped forward, calling out, "Silvanus..."
Then she fell silent—because she too had seen what Silvanus was looking at.
A "door"!
It rested on the icy surface—a rectangular frame, just wide enough for two people to walk through side by side.
At its top gleamed a bright golden handle, pulsing faintly with light.
Matthew stepped up beside them, murmuring, "This... this is the door?"
His voice trembled in disbelief, his eyes wide with excitement.
There really was a door.
He—he could get into Lumina!
Even without telepathy, Matthew and Ariana exchanged a look at the same time. Then Ariana threw her arms around Matthew, jumping up and down like an overjoyed rabbit.
"We found it! We found it! We’re getting into Lumina!"
Matthew’s face flushed bright red—whether from excitement or embarrassment, even he couldn’t tell.
Both of them looked expectantly toward Silvanus.
Silvanus, however, didn’t know what lay beyond that door—whether it was truly the exit or something else entirely.
But he had come here to overcome trials.
So he reached out, grabbed the handle, and pulled the door open!
"Whoooosh!"
"Slash!"
Almost instantly, a violent gust of snow-laden wind burst out from within, tearing through the once-peaceful air and swirling into a roaring storm.
The gale was so fierce it felt as though it would blow all of them away.
"Get back!" Silvanus shouted.
A moment later, the wind abruptly converged, then slammed downward with explosive force before scattering outward again.
The impact was so significant that it shattered Silvanus’s light barrier, sending all of them tumbling backward more than ten meters!
And at that very instant, an enraged voice echoed from afar.
"So you actually found the door!"
Nana landed on the ice and sprinted toward them. At the same time, blades of light flew wildly from her hands, cutting through the air.
"I’m going to be the first one in there!"
In the distance, other figures could also be seen racing toward the same spot.
Silvanus could feel the ice beneath them rumbling and cracking, trembling as though something massive and terrifying was about to emerge from the other side of that door.
He hadn’t even gotten the chance to stand up yet, and already, trouble was charging straight at him from all directions.
