Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 369: The Strange Girl
Silvanus wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but he seemed to hear someone crying right next to his ear.
He frowned slightly, lifting a hand to tap his ear. At the exact moment, he noticed the space around him shifting. In the blink of an eye, he was outside again, standing on the very ground where he had disappeared earlier.
"Swish!"
Right after that came the sound of fabric tearing.
Silvanus felt an icy wind sweep across his body. He halted for a moment, raising a hand to touch his ear as his gaze lowered to the small scraps of cloth that had ripped apart because his body had suddenly grown larger.
These were the clothes Drake had made for him... clearly ugly, yet Silvanus now felt a faint sense of regret.
He pressed his lips together, unable to identify what exactly he was feeling.
He bent down to pick up the torn piece of fabric, but at that moment, the sudden rush of wind made Silvanus widen his eyes. In the next instant, he darted to the side at his fastest speed. A feathered tentacle brushed past him, nearly grazing his waist by mere millimeters.
Silvanus lifted his hand, and a sphere of light shot upward at once, illuminating the surroundings. With that, the form of the creature that had been hiding in the shadows finally appeared.
It was a strange being covered in countless tentacles. The tentacles were not grotesque at all and even carried a pure and beautiful glow.
The moment it noticed Silvanus looking back, the creature suddenly opened its mouth wide and let out a piercing shriek. Countless tentacles shot forward like a rain of arrows.
Retreating, Silvanus raised his hand. Light unfurled like thick strands that pierced deep into the ground, weaving into a massive net, some threads even stabbing through parts of the mysterious creature.
But before the two forces could collide, a fierce sound tore through the air. It was a claw, ripping everything apart...
It shredded Silvanus’s threads of light and tore apart countless tentacles before violently flinging the strange creature to the side, as if it weren’t a powerful entity but a worthless toy.
Long silver hair shimmered in the light. Her beautiful face held a slightly mischievous expression, though her eyes were clear and innocent. More striking were the ears atop her head, matching the color of her hair, flicking lightly, along with a tail so large it could almost completely cover her entire body.
She landed in a strange posture, almost like a four-legged beast. One hand touched the ground while the other curled upward. Her hand was still a set of sharp claws, stained with traces of golden liquid from the creature she had just struck down.
She stared straight at Silvanus, blinking her fox-like eyes.
Before Silvanus could even react, she suddenly lunged forward. Her arms and legs spread open as she threw herself at him, wrapping him in a tight embrace. Her face kept rubbing against his, her whole body practically hanging off him.
She was clearly much larger than Silvanus, and her weight made him stagger a little.
"Wait, hey, who are you?"
He spoke while trying to pull the strange girl off himself.
Please, he was still completely naked. Silvanus usually didn’t get embarrassed, but even he had to acknowledge just how ridiculous this girl was.
She was pushed aside, but her massive tail remained wrapped around Silvanus’s leg. Even when he stepped away, she immediately bounced back toward him. Her bright eyes sparkled as if she could hardly wait to throw herself at him again.
A chill ran down Silvanus’s spine.
He quickly created a set of clothes and pulled them on at his fastest speed.
At that moment, as if sensing something, he suddenly raised his hand. Light surged from the ground, slicing through the tentacled creature that had been trying to flee.
But the creature seemed to melt into liquid.
The instant it was cut apart, the pieces rapidly gathered again before shooting away, leaving only a fading afterimage.
Behind him, the girl let out a low growl and then hurled herself forward on both hands and feet to give chase, but she couldn’t keep up.
She kept swiping her claws through the air, looking furious. Then she turned back to Silvanus.
Tilting her head slightly, she blinked once and immediately leaped toward him again.
Silvanus widened his eyes as a burst of wind rose up to catch the girl mid-pounce.
Silvanus silently wiped imaginary sweat away. "Miss, I don’t know who you are, but maybe you should consider the size difference between us."
This girl was at least two meters tall. Combined with that enormous tail, it made absolutely no sense.
But why did a human have ears and a tail? Silvanus was certain he had never seen nor read any records about a humanlike creature with such features.
As Silvanus was thinking, a transformation occurred. The tall girl in front of him had turned into a girl even more petite than him, though her tail remained impossibly large and soft.
The little girl immediately spread her arms, waving them repeatedly, urgently wanting Silvanus to pick her up.
Silvanus stayed silent for a moment, then finally sighed and lifted her into his arms.
She instantly nuzzled her head against his neck, then his cheek, and finally even stuck out her tongue and licked him.
"Hey! No!"
Silvanus slipped his hands under her armpits and pushed her away from him.
She only giggled, her arms and legs flailing excitedly.
Silvanus: "..."
He asked directly, "Thank you for helping me earlier, but what exactly are you?"
The girl opened her mouth and chirped, but only a few odd purring sounds came out, similar to a cat.
"You can’t speak the human language?"
She looked so human, after all. Was it because of her ears and tail?
"Did I just discover a new species?" Silvanus muttered under his breath.
Vivian squirmed, trying to grab Silvanus’s attention, but it didn’t work.
She honestly didn’t understand. Silvanus usually liked her so much. He always kept her in his shirt wherever he went and even liked hugging her to sleep. Why was he suddenly acting distant?
Had he forgotten her after being gone for only a few days?!
With that thought, Vivian’s eyes welled up, and she suddenly burst into tears. The sound was tiny and strange, not human at all, more like an animal.
Silvanus froze, unsure why she was crying all of a sudden. Instinctively, he set her down on the ground.
But she immediately scrambled forward on all fours and clung tightly to his leg. Her huge tail wrapped around him so firmly that he could barely move.
He felt the fabric of his pants dampen from her tears. Looking down, he saw her drooping ears and pitiful expression.
"Did you get separated from your family? Is your family around here? I can help you look for them..."
Silvanus was still speaking when his hand was suddenly grabbed. The girl took his hand, pressed it down on her head, then patted it. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Silvanus paused and asked, "You want me to pat your head?"
The girl’s tear-filled eyes sparkled as she nuzzled his thigh and nodded rapidly.
