Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 447: Asta’s Resolve
The next morning, both Asta and Nick almost failed to recognize Silvanus.
Nick stared blankly at the tall man before him. Silvanus had already been very tall before, but now he was far taller than he used to be, and his body was even more muscular.
From his back extended a pair of wings resembling bat wings. Even folded, they were large enough to make one feel their sheer size. His eyes were a deep purple, with vertical pupils like those of a wild beast. His long black hair fell like a wolf’s tail, and his icy gaze made Nick shiver involuntarily.
What the hell happened overnight?! Where did his adorable child go? And what was this Demon standing in front of him?!
Only Asta felt that his position had been seriously threatened. Why had Silvanus suddenly awakened and even gained such an outstanding appearance? This was completely unacceptable!
Silvanus’s wings were even larger than his own. It was infuriating.
Nick swallowed, quickly regaining his composure. He hurried over to Silvanus and spoke in a flattering tone, smiling lightly. "How did you become like this overnight?"
Silvanus did not hide anything and replied directly, "Marax helped me awaken."
"What?!"
The moment Asta finished speaking, Nick shouted. The tail behind him stood straight up, and he glared at Silvanus like an enraged cat.
As if that were not bad enough, the door behind Silvanus suddenly opened.
Marax stepped out with his clothes slightly disheveled, his face still carrying a trace of sleepiness. She muttered, "Silvanus, why are you up so early? Aren’t you tired?"
What Marax meant was that awakening one’s bloodline was always painful, but to Asta’s ears, the meaning completely changed.
Marax and Silvanus were sharing a room! Marax had helped Silvanus awaken his bloodline and had not left! And now... tired? Why tired? How intense had last night been for him to be tired?!
"Clang!"
A gemstone suddenly fell to the ground. Before anyone could react, sharp spikes burst forth at an unbelievable speed, shooting straight toward Silvanus!
An enemy who steals one’s spouse, Asta would absolutely not let this go!
But before the spikes could reach Silvanus, Marax suddenly appeared.
Asta was shocked and hurriedly withdrew his hand.
His eyes almost instantly turned red, his gaze filled with accusation as he looked at Marax, yet he did not dare do anything.
"Marax, you clearly chose me. So why did you still—"
As Asta spoke, Silvanus paused slightly, finally realizing what he had misunderstood.
Silvanus could not help frowning, his expression hard to put into words. He grabbed Nick and left, throwing out one sentence before going. "Settle it yourselves."
Seeing Silvanus speak to Marax like that, Asta frowned, his fangs showing once more.
But at that moment, Marax suddenly took his hand.
Asta felt like a balloon that burst in an instant, all his anger scattering away.
He looked at Marax with a mix of shyness and excitement, though his face still held a trace of sulking grievance.
Marax smiled and said, "Silvanus is very important to me. Asta, don’t do this again next time, alright?"
"But..." Asta could not believe that Marax was actually speaking up for Silvanus.
Yet before he could say anything, Marax gently lifted his chin and leaned down, so close they were almost touching, the tips of their noses only millimeters apart.
Asta’s heart seemed to stall for a moment, then began pounding so hard he feared Marax might even hear the chaotic thudding of his heartbeat.
Especially when Marax said, "Of course, you will be my only groom."
After saying that, Marax left at once. Asta stared blankly at Marax’s departing figure, then almost became so excited he felt like he might take off on the spot. He nearly howled right there, but fortunately he remembered that Marax was still ahead of him.
He coughed lightly, forcing down the joy surging in his heart. Even so, the corners of his lips kept twitching uncontrollably. He was truly so happy that he could not press his smile down at all.
He quickly hurried forward to catch up with Marax.
Breakfast was extraordinarily lavish, and everything on the table was meat.
Nick had not eaten a proper meal in a long time, let alone meat. Even with a beauty sitting right in front of him, he almost could not restrain himself and ate without any regard for appearances.
Just then, Marax suddenly spoke. "Master, given your requirements, we can reach the Relic of the Hobbit through the passage leading into Chaosland. The current entrance to Chaosland is located at Bael’s citadel. However, the situation there is rather tense right now, as two other city lords are contending over the place. If we want to obtain a pass from Bael, we will definitely have to go through some trouble. Bael will not give up the chance when there is someone who can help him deal with his problems."
Nick and Asta were both completely confused. How had only one night passed, yet Marax was already calling Silvanus "Master"? Could it be that Silvanus’s bloodline awakening was so powerful that it inspired fear and respect to this extent?
But Asta was even more puzzled. He could not help asking, "Marax, why are you suddenly helping Silvanus like this?"
After all, the trouble at Bael’s citadel was no small matter.
Marax smiled at Asta. "Because I will be going with Silvanus. Nick, you love me so much. You can help me govern this citadel in my place, right?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Asta was stunned. Completely numb.
Did Marax think he was an idiot?! This script was clearly Marax planning to leave with Silvanus. Marax wanted to abandon him!
Asta would absolutely never allow this to happen!
He hurriedly said, "No, Marax. Even if it is boiling oil and raging flames, no matter how dangerous it is ahead, I will go with you!"
Marax smiled. "Even if you have no status or title at all?"
Nick seemed to hear the sound of Asta’s heart shattering.
Laughing at this moment would indeed be a bit too cruel, so he quickly lowered his head and pretended to focus on chewing his meat nonstop.
Asta silently clenched his fists, suddenly stood up, and left with a cold expression.
Nick watched his departing figure, then looked over at Silvanus and said, "He left so fast. He must’ve been afraid he’d start crying on the spot."
Silvanus had not yet spoken when Nick sensed another gaze. The moment he looked up, he saw Marax resting her chin on her hand, smiling at him. Her beautiful eyes were like a pool of honeyed water.
Nick froze, then quietly blushed, only hoping that there was absolutely nothing stuck on his face.
It was not until Marax left to make preparations that Nick finally let out a breath, feeling as if he had come back to life.
He did not know whether it was his imagination or not, but every time he drew close to Silvanus, he felt as though Marax were staring at him. That probing, strange look made him feel uneasy.
In that instant, he could not even sense her beauty anymore.
Nick looked toward Silvanus and asked softly, "Why is Marax coming with us? Did you know her from before?"
Silvanus nodded. "Yes. You’ll meet even more people in the future."
Hearing this, Nick could not help feeling dejected, sensing that he would soon become useless by Silvanus’s side.
Just then, Silvanus suddenly looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Aren’t you going to keep eating?"
Nick nodded vigorously. "Of course I am."
In any case, by the end of that day, they had already set out.
Nick had thought that Asta would not show up again.
He was clearly very flirtatious and could have many girls by his side. How could he possibly endure being hung up on Marax without any proper status or title?
But when he saw the large, gleaming palanquin before them, Nick felt that he had truly underestimated what people called Asta’s love at first sight.
Asta loved far too deeply!
Marax smiled at him and said softly, "I thought you had left in anger."
Asta immediately looked away and said, "I can pursue you, can’t I? I’m this perfect. There’s no way you wouldn’t like me!"
Silvanus only felt that Asta was beyond saving. If things continued like this, when the truth was finally revealed, Asta would only suffer so much he might want to die. It was even possible he would turn from love to hatred.
So he spoke up directly. "Marax is a man."
Nick stared wide-eyed at Silvanus. Asta also froze for a moment, then immediately glared at Silvanus.
Clearly, he felt that Silvanus was deliberately trying to drive a wedge between his feelings for Marax so that he himself could more easily become Marax’s other half!
Asta raised his voice. "Even if Marax is a man, I still love her!"
Do you think I’d believe you, Silvanus? Not a chance. I will never give Marax up to you!
Silvanus met Asta’s gaze. "..." When the time comes, don’t blame me for not having warned you.
