Edith no longer needed to fear that everyone would disapprove of her relationship with Callum. After Cliff was given a day to find evidence, they were reunited at Cliff’s extended family home. Edith and Callum sat side by side confidently, while Cliff and Arabella wore gloomy expressions, indirectly admitting defeat before the interrogation.

Callum raised his head confidently. He presented the DNA test evidence he had, along with CCTV footage showing Cliff meeting with the hotel bartender to slip an aphrodisiac into Edith’s drink.

Even Kevin was speechless when he saw that Callum’s DNA test results were indeed genuine. Moreover, the DNA test was conducted five years ago, making it impossible for the results to have been faked.

"Father, I suggest you think this through more carefully. Even though I’m not your biological child, Cliff’s actions are truly unforgivable. He deliberately manipulated the DNA test results to conceive my twins."

Kevin massaged his temples as he glared at his biological son. "Why did you go to this extent? Even though you hate your half-brother, you shouldn’t have manipulated something that affects someone’s future!"

Cliff immediately knelt before his biological father. "I’m sorry, Father. I really just wanted to marry Edith!"

"I admit that Callum is indeed superior to you in every way. All this time you’ve only been able to give me a headache because of your stupidity!"

"Kevin, you better not be too hard on Cliff!" Diana scolded.

"This is the result of your inability to raise him properly! Cliff never takes matters into his own hands. And now, a new problem has arisen because of his stupid actions!"

"Father, it was actually Callum who stole Edith from me! You should have trusted me instead of that bastard!"

"Just shut up, Cliff! Because of your actions, King’s Group’s stock price is plummeting! You never solve problems, but you create them. That’s why I’ve decided not to keep you on the board of commissioners. I was forced to give you that position because your mother persuaded me!"

"Father?!"

"Callum is a better choice to replace you. You should learn a lot from him!"

Callum hadn’t actually expected to replace Cliff at his father’s company. After all, his relationship with his father hadn’t always been close. Was he simply being considered a replacement for Cliff for business reasons? Callum sensed something was amiss.

"Father, I’m sure what happened at the engagement party wasn’t my fault, but Callum’s!"

"But why can’t you prove that Callum was the culprit? From all the evidence Callum and you gave me, it’s clear that you were the one who wanted to give Edith the aphrodisiac!"

"In fact, I have a recording from the bartender that proves you did it!" Callum snapped, placing the recording device on the table.

Callum deliberately played a voice recording showing Cliff openly giving orders to the bartender. "Luckily, the bartender was also smart, always keeping evidence whenever someone ordered him to commit a crime."

"I’m increasingly disappointed in you, Cliff. It’s a good thing I couldn’t love you fully in the first place," Edith said with a hawkish gaze.

"Edith, are you sure you want to marry Callum? You don’t want to waste our sweet moments in the past?"

Edith laughed awkwardly, shaking her head. "A sweet moment, you say? I know you forced yourself into dating me because your parents were pressuring you to get married. Especially since our wedding seemed to be a business marriage."

"Don’t you remember our first meeting a long time ago?"

"I still remember it now. Even though you seemed like a nice guy back then, you never cared about me when I was in trouble. Maybe you’ve been busy spending the night with Arabella all this time!"

"You two better solve your problems here! Don’t make my headache worse!" Kevin snapped, glaring at the two couples sitting opposite each other.

"How about we continue our conversation in the backyard?" Callum suggested, taking his fiancée’s hand.

"Actually, my purpose in calling you all here was simply to announce that Callum will be joining King’s Group. Prepare yourself, Cliff! You’ll have to face the consequences for disappointing me!"

Cliff groaned in annoyance as he got up from the sofa. "I’m sure you’ll regret your decision, Father! I’m still going to keep my position! I don’t want to give it to a bastard!"

The two lovers moved to the backyard to finish their conversation. Callum allowed Edith to chat with Cliff as much as she liked, officially ending their relationship. Callum didn’t want Edith to be bothered by Cliff again like before.

"Edith, can you think this through a little more carefully? I know you’re not related to my family by blood, but I won’t make the same mistake twice," Cliff coaxed, rubbing his palms together.

Edith burst out laughing as she stared at Arabella, who stood alone with a gloomy expression. "Cliff, are you stupid? Can’t you count? You’ve made the same mistake twice! I won’t be fooled by you!"

"Actually the last time I did–"

"You still want to deny it when Callum’s evidence clearly shows you talking to the bartender. You’re such a jerk!"

"Then what about Callum? He was the one who screwed you up and got you pregnant!"

"You finally admitted that Erdin and Eliana are Callum’s twins, not yours." Edith stepped closer to Cliff and pushed his broad shoulder with her index finger. "Now I want our relationship to truly end. I’m going to marry Callum soon."

"You will definitely regret your words one day!"

"I won’t. Only Callum can make me happy." She snapped her fingers for a moment. "That’s right. I should be thanking you for cheating on me with Arabella. Thanks to you cheating, I’m now engaged to a better man than you."

Cliff clenched his fists tightly. "Aren’t you curious about the accident you had five years ago?"

Edith’s footsteps paused for a moment. "What exactly do you want to talk about? Why are you bringing up the past again?"

"Aren’t you curious about who wanted to kill you at that time?"
