Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 178: The Competition Part II
Edith was still not satisfied with presenting the meaning of the dress and suit she designed to everyone, including the judges. She looked at her beloved fiancé with a sparkling gaze. Deep in her heart, what she had said earlier was completely true. She had created this couple’s outfit, imagining how sweet it would be for them to dance together, even though they weren’t officially a couple yet. Edith could feel Callum’s love so sincere that it made it hard for her to hate him even now.
"Perhaps I also want to clear up all these misunderstandings. I never plagiarize when designing any clothing. Just like when I designed the dress and suit for my fiancé, I always thought about it. I worked on this dress and suit until midnight. I didn’t even have time to spend my free time with my fiancé because time was so limited at that time." Edith looked at Ariadne with a grin from afar. "This couple’s outfit means ’eternal love’, showing that my love for my fiancé will always be eternal."
"Edith..." Her eyes grew even more teary hearing her fiancé’s open declaration of love.
"Impossible!" Ariadne shouted, running up the stage.
Everyone was now focused on Ariadne, who was going crazy. They were all gossiping about whether Ariadne might have framed Edith. Because what Edith said was more meaningful than Ariadne’s.
Edith refused to bow her head any longer. She raised her head confidently, folding her arms. "I know you’re the one who’s been plagiarizing my work all this time. The proof is that you don’t understand the true meaning of this couple’s outfit."
"You’re only good at making up stories. Are you a novelist?"
Callum immediately stood in front of his fiancée, acting as a shield. "Watch your words! I was the witness who saw her designing this outfit until she couldn’t sleep. She even pricked her finger with a needle because she was so exhausted."
Ariadne folded her arms, staring at Callum haughtily. "You’re just his fiancée, you shouldn’t interfere."
"In fact, now I also want to prove to you that there are other accessories that complete this couple’s outfit." Callum pulled two pairs of gloves from his pants pocket. "Because her finger was injured, I suggested she wear gloves."
"These gloves were made by my assistant."
Now everyone was focused on Ariadne, who looked increasingly nervous. Reporters kept taking photos of her nonstop, as she screamed frantically on stage.
"You guys don’t believe it!"
"You were the one who deceived everyone and framed me!" Edith snapped, glaring at Ariadne.
"I have proof that you ordered reporters to spread fake news on the internet!"
At the same time, a video of Ariadne’s conversation with the reporter, who was wearing a mask, was released. Everyone was now focused on the video, and the exclusive news was immediately shared on social media.
James and Arabella stared in awe at the tense atmosphere on stage. Meanwhile, Erdin and Eliana watched in awe, staring at the relaxed couple.
"Uncle, auntie, what happened to my father and mother now?" asked Erdin.
James gently stroked Erdin’s tiny head. "You don’t need to worry anymore. Your parents are definitely the ones who won this competition."
"Is that auntie mean?" Eliana asked, pointing at Ariadne who was still angry with Edith.
Arabella nodded. "Yes, she’s very mean. She’s the one who accused your mother of copying her design."
"She’s like a witch! No wonder my mom has been looking sad lately."
"But now it’s all over. Your parents won’t be sad anymore."
The stage was heating up again. As the video ended, several police officers surrounded Ariadne and handcuffed her. Edith glared at her opponent arrogantly, her lips pressed close to her ear.
"Looks like you’ve got the wrong target, Ariadne."
Because Ariadne was proven to have cheated and was the actual perpetrator of plagiarism, she was automatically disqualified from the competition. The judges were completely impressed with Edith’s design. Everyone was now curious about Edith, who still seemed relaxed despite her troubles.
Because Edith impressed the judges, she won the competition. Her reputation was finally restored, and the hoax disappeared from the internet. Even now, online gossip is circulating about Ariadne, who deliberately accused Edith of plagiarism in order to steal all of her customers.
Edith and Callum had now changed into casual attire. It had been a tiring day for them. To celebrate their victory, Edith invited James and Arabella to dinner at a restaurant. She had initially wanted to invite Laura and her family to join her, but since Laura prioritized spending time with her family on her day off, Edith had no right to force her.
Callum stared at his fiancée in awe. His mind was still reeling from his fiancée’s candid declaration of love, making him fall even more in love with her. Unconsciously, his right hand continued to gently stroke her hair.
"You were so cool earlier, Edith. You managed to get your reputation back."
Edith smiled shyly, gripping Callum’s hand tightly. "This is all thanks to you, Callum. If you hadn’t suggested I compete, I wouldn’t have been able to solve all my problems."
"No. This is purely the result of your hard work. I’m just standing by you and supporting you."
"Callum’s right. If you don’t have confidence, you can’t win," James said, taking a sip of lemon juice.
"By the way, thanks for helping us, James, Arabella."
Arabella smiled casually as she watched the twins devour their food. "I was glad to see your twins were so supportive of you when you debated with Ariadne on stage."
"Mom and Dad are cool." Erdin and Eliana clapped their hands happily.
"Edith, I really like your style today." James gave two thumbs up.
"Thanks for the compliment, James. You’re cool too."
Callum lifted his head right in front of his fiancée’s face. "You’re not complimenting me?"
Edith laughed awkwardly as she handed her twins a few spoonful of green vegetables. "I’ll tell you all about it before bed."
