Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Holiday In Switzerland

Two weeks later...

Their wedding day is fast approaching. Of course, Edith and Callum are busy preparing for their wedding after going through various problems. Whether it’s problems involving their lives or their reputations, which were destroyed by someone’s selfishness. Edith is actually curious about Callum: why he didn’t take her to a jewelry store to order their wedding rings. Even though it was such an important matter. Was Callum planning something without her knowledge?

Because Callum wanted their pre-wedding photos to have a mountain backdrop, they traveled to Switzerland for the shoot. Of course, their twins and their assistant came along. Callum covered all expenses. For Renata and Patrick, the trip to Switzerland was like a short vacation. Coincidentally, Callum had cleared his entire schedule this week so no one would disturb him on his vacation.

On her first visit to a country where the air was quite cold even though it was spring, Renata kept rubbing her palms as she watched an engaged couple taking pre-wedding photos in a meadow with the Matterhorn in the background. She wondered how the couple could still look so fine without coats. Especially since Edith was wearing a sleeveless wedding dress.

"Are you still cold?" Patrick asked worriedly.

Renata nodded as she adjusted her crooked scarf. "I’m still not used to traveling to cold countries. Although I’ve accompanied Edith on several trips abroad, her usual destinations are Asia, and we usually visit when the weather is warm."

Patrick looked around innocently as he draped his scarf around his lover’s neck. "You should wear mine instead of getting cold."

Her cheeks flushed red at the sudden special treatment while they were watching the twins who were playing tag. "Thank you, Patrick."

"You could have told me you were cold." Patrick laughed awkwardly, gently stroking his lover’s head. "You’re just like Edith, always feeling a bit cocky."

"Because Edith was my superior, I was used to her stubbornness and arrogance. I unintentionally began to imitate her behavior."

"Don’t imitate her attitude. Because I’m the type of man who won’t be sensitive if you just keep quiet."

Renata burst out laughing, patting her lover’s arm. "I know your personality, don’t worry."

"Auntie Renata is cold?" Eliana asked, running around looking at Renata’s appearance, which was wrapped in two layers of coats and two scarves.

Her cheeks flushed even redder at the child’s taunting remarks. Especially since Eliana and Erdin were only wearing one coat.

"Yeah, I’m cold actually."

"Even though the air is warm," Erdin argued.

Patrick rolled his eyes. "Kids, you don’t feel cold because you’ve been playing."

"Then, uncle and auntie, let’s play. Auntie Renata won’t be cold anymore."

"Uncle and auntie should try it," suggested Eliana, jumping up and down.

Meanwhile, Patrick and Renata looked at each other with shy smiles. Patrick spontaneously gripped his girlfriend’s hand tightly.

"Okay, I’ll play tag with you guys."

"Hurray! Then I will be on the same team as Erdin."

Meanwhile, the newlyweds were still having their pre-wedding photoshoot, posing in various sweet poses, so the photographer didn’t have to bother directing them. Callum lifted his fiancée and twirled her around, and they also kissed openly without the photographer’s guidance.

After a while, they took a short break. They changed into casual spring clothes and watched a pair of assistants and twins playing tag. Callum and Edith watched from a distance, laughing heartily and holding hands.

"Renata and Patrick will definitely catch up with us," Edith said.

"Even though they’ve been dating secretly, I know Patrick cares deeply for Renata. I even often advise him on love matters."

Edith furrowed her brows, folding her arms. "I guess you’re not such a stiff guy anymore. I remember you used to be as cold as a refrigerator. Now you’re too sweet for me."

Callum raised his head directly in front of his fiancée. "Because you’re the one who changed my personality into this."

"Even though I haven’t done anything to you all this time."

His lips landed on his fiancée’s forehead. "Would you like to come somewhere with me? There’s a beautiful lake around here."

"Weren’t we going to take pictures there later? Why do you want to take me there now?"

"Because I want to walk with you alone there."

Callum and Edith briefly asked the assistants to look after their twins while they were busy on their date. Now they walked hand in hand towards a lake in a somewhat hidden location, not too far from the previous photo shoot location.

Upon arriving at the location, Edith gazed around at the sparkling, clear lake. For the first time, she and her fiancé could see the lake without being disturbed. Furthermore, a pair of swans were swimming in the middle of the lake.

Gazing at his beloved, who was still beaming with a beaming smile, Callum laughed happily, wrapping his arm around his fiancée’s shoulder affectionately. "How’s the view of the lake?"

"This is so beautiful! Even in our hometown, we wouldn’t find a lake as clear as this." Edith moved her lips towards her fiancé’s sexy lips. "By the way, how did you find this lake? It’s not the kind of lake tourists often talk about online."

"You could say I found it five years ago. When I asked you to marry me."

Her cheeks flushed as she thought about that simple proposal, which still lingered in her mind. "So you found this lake a long time ago. Why didn’t you tell me?"

"I actually wanted to keep it a secret from you as a surprise. But since we’re having our pre-wedding photoshoot here, I won’t keep it from you any longer."

"But, did you really want to give me this surprise on my birthday?"

"No."

"Then, do you want to give me a surprise while we are on our honeymoon?"

"No."

"Is it our twins’s birthdays?"

"No. But, I wanted to propose to you seriously. Now I want to propose to you." Callum knelt before his fiancée, opening a small box containing a pair of diamond rings.
