Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 115: Enemy spotted.
Chapter 115: Enemy spotted.
After casting the spell "Warden of the rift", the star constellations vanished and Alex’s eyes began to glow brightly like stars as he stared down from the top of the building.
He looked like a human statue with glowing eyes in the darkness above the City, his sight covered the entire City!
Everything and everywhere was laid bare before him, he could feel and sense everything clearly.
Alex had to admit that the city was huge, and it would take him time to locate what he wanted, so he decided to focus on the sensing and hearing abilities of the spell.
Various sounds flooded his mind: voices, moving items, heartbeats, pets, and even passing wind.
Alex began to filter the sounds and soon, he caught something.
Sounds of faint heartbeats, soft murmurs, and sobbing of young children. Some were calling for their parents while others cried about how uncomfortable they were or being hungry.
’There!’ Alex exclaimed in his heart, his vision instantly shifted in the direction of the sounds. His sight crossed hundreds of meters around the City in less than a second as a tall building entered his view.
At a glance, the building looked like a normal structure and wasn’t any different from the others in the area. Each floor was a rented store where different items were sold.
Alex didn’t stop there as his gaze continued to move, he felt a thick layer of squirming mana underneath this building.
It was a formation! From the nature of the mana inside this formation, Alex was certain that it was a formation meant to ward off any form of detection.
Sadly, this formation was not enough to block off his spell as Alex’s gaze easily penetrated through the formation and came to an underground section below the building.
Alex’s gaze continued to travel down, he was surprised at how deep the underground part of this building was; it was just as huge as the main building above.
"So this was where they were hiding," Alex mumbled to himself with a smirk as his gaze continued to travel. Soon, he saw a huge platform with countless glass cells.
In each glass cell was a child between the ages of 7 and 17; some of them were the same age as Alex!
"Found you!" Alex said to himself as he retracted his gaze.
He didn’t end the spell immediately, he began to wander the underground floors in search of members of the Dark Union.
Alex found over a hundred people; some were in yellow robes, and some were in casual clothes.
After a moment of inspection, Alex was left confused. All the people he had seen were only Core mages at best, this couldn’t be the full force of the Dark Union; some were not present.
Alex hesitated, should he carry out his plan now or wait for the others to return before acting?
After a brief moment of thinking, Alex decided that he would act now. He couldn’t let those kids suffer any longer after he already found them. As for the missing members of the Dark Union, he would look for them later.
After coming to a decision, Alex continued to wander the underground structure. He found a few dark beasts and more people locked up in even worse cells. He also saw some people committing unholy acts to some women, ignoring their pleas and struggles.
It was a disturbing sight and Alex had to move his gaze away. His sight returned to the building above the ground to also inspect it.
There were even more people here than there were underground but Alex knew for a fact that not all of them were members of the Dark Union.
Some were honest traders who were here to sell and were not aware of what was going on underground, they probably didn’t even know that there was an underground structure beneath the building.
Of course, this was only Alex’s thoughts and he wasn’t entirely certain; however, he had an idea.
Alex ended the spell, and his eyes returned to normal as the glow died out.
Alex wasn’t surprised that more than half of his mana had been used up after using the spell for so long since the same thing had happened the previous time he used the spell outside the border.
Thanks to the system, it only took a few moments for him to restore his mana almost fully.
After replenishing his mana, Alex activated the Void walk skill.
His view turned into a bird-like view over the city, and he picked a place for the second gateway to form; it was inside the Rising Wave group building.
Alex’s gaze returned to normal, and a gateway tore open in front of him, which he stepped through and entered the white space. A few seconds later, Alex reached the second gateway and stepped out of it before ending the skill.
He saw Simon and a few members of the Rising Wave group in the living room, all of them were just chilling since they had nothing important to do.
They were all frightened when someone suddenly appeared in front of them and they all jumped up to their feet with stars of various colours forming around them, ready to cast spells.
But their expressions of fright soon turned to astonishment when they realized that it was Mr Chen, their bodies stiffened for a few seconds before they recovered and hastily retracted their stars.
Trying to launch spells at Mr Chen, wasn’t that the same thing as signing a death wish?
"M-Mr Chen, what brings you here?" Simon stuttered as he looked at Mr Chen, still shocked. He was about to ask if he should go and call Mia since the other party was probably here for their leader but Mr Chen spoke next.
"Give me your phone," Alex stated In a flat tone.
Simon and the others "..."
Phone? Mr Chen came here for Simon’s phone. Was this...theft? frёewebnoѵēl.com
Although Simon was confused, he still obediently handed over his phone to Mr Chen. If his phone was what Mr Chen wanted, then he would happily give it; he could always buy another one.
Receiving the phone, the contact card that Clint had given him earlier appeared in his other hand. Alex calmly copied the numbers before calling.
This was why he had come here; he wanted to use someone’s phone to contact the Union and have them surround the building with the underground structure while he went down to save the children and take care of the members of the Union.
Since he couldn’t identify who was a part of the Dark Union besides those underground, he would leave the investigation to the Union. He couldn’t use his phone to make such a call, right?
Soon, the line connected and a voice came out from the other side, it was branch leader Clint’s voice.
Alex was briefly stunned when he realized that the man had given him his contact line but later felt it was expected. After all, Mr Chen wasn’t a random person.
"Hello, who is this?" Clint’s voice sounded through the phone.
"Is there a way to identify members of the Dark Union?" Was the first thing that Alex asked.
"Mr Chen? I didn’t expect you to call so soon. Yes, there’s a way to identify them. The members of the Dark Union have the tattoo of a twin-headed snake on their left chest, but it’s usually invisible and can only be seen after infusing mana into the place." Clint’s surprised voice sounded before explaining things to Alex.
"Is that so, good.".Alex didn’t waste any more time and went straight to the point, he told Clint the party of Balon City where the building was located and the name of the building before telling him to gather officers of the union and to surround the building. He was to check every single person inside the building before letting them out.
"Mr Chen, are you saying this because.." Clint’s voice sounded but was cut off by Alex.
"Yes, that’s the base of the Dark Union and where the missing children are being kept, I’ll be there before you come. Just take care of checking those in the building, I’ll handle the rest." Alex ordered before ending the call, not letting Clint say anything else.
Simon and the others watched with speechless expressions as Mr Chen made the call, they were shocked
So Mr Chen came just to make a call, and he had found the hideout of the Dark Union in Balon City? How shocking!
After ending the call, Alex tossed the phone to Simon before turning around. He activated "Void Walk" already and stepped into the gateway but to Simon and the others, Mr Chen turned around and vanished into thin air.
All of them stood petrified for a long time, unable to process everything that just happened before them.
In the Union building, branch leader Clint dropped his phone with a serious expression on his face. It just happened to be that he was in the meeting room with William, Owen, Silvia, and the others present. All of them had stunned expressions on their faces as they stared at branch leader Clint. They had heard everything that Mr Chen had said and couldn’t help but find it unbelievable.
But this was Mr Chen, it definitely wasn’t a prank.
Clint stood up and looked at everyone, he said In a deep voice.
"Let’s move."
