Chapter 146: Release me right now!

The day was gradually approaching evening, and several academies were already through with their matches. Finally, it was the turn of the Dragonic Magic Academy.

As the tenth match of the day ended, Alex was already standing up and was heading down without the guidance of teacher Christi.

Before he could leave, the Vice Dean called and wished him good luck. Following the lead of the vice dean, the students of the Dragonic Magic Academy also wished him good luck with encouraging faces.

Alex ignored them and strolled off with both hands in his pants pockets.

Amelia, Glen, Ryan, and Jason looked at his back with interested expressions.

"Do you think he’ll win?" Amelia asked, sounding worried.

"Can’t say for sure, no one was his opponent during the competition at the academy but the opponents here are different," Glen stated with a logical tone.

"True, and his opponent is from the Black Rose Magic Academy; they will definitely send one of their best students for the solo mode, all of the academies that had fought previously have been doing the same," Ryan added.

"Hmm, Alex is the first Adept mage to appear during the solo mode, will his space element be able to overwhelm Core rank mages too?" Amelia inquired before turning to Glen and asking him if he was confident of beating Alex who had the space element.

After all, he was now the only Core mage from their academy after Laura left.

After giving it some thought, Glen replied.

"I don’t know much about the space element but there should be a limit to how far the control of his telekinesis can cover. If I keep a far distance and attack from there, I might be able to win.

But as I said, I don’t know much about the space element so I don’t know if I can win or not. But the opponent he’s going to face is from the Black Rose, even I might not be their opponent despite being a Core mage myself."

Listening to Glen’s words, everyone felt that it made sense. After all, while the space element was overpowered, its Adept rank spell should have limits. If Alex were to face an opponent who knew this and could deal long-range attacks, wouldn’t he be left in a bad situation?

Immediately after realising this, most of them began to worry. They clapped their palms together and silently prayed for Alex to win. If he lost this round, then their academy would be out of the tournament, even if Glen and the others won their next match, which wasn’t even guaranteed.

Teacher Arnold glanced at the panicking students before looking at Alex who had reached the arena by this time, a contemptuous sneer formed on his face.

"That brat will definitely lose, there’s nothing that he’s good at." He snorted.

The surrounding teachers and even the vice dean glanced at him briefly without saying anything, all of them had different thoughts in their minds.

The eyes of the vice dean revealed an expectant look as she gazed at the red haired youth on stage.

In the arena, Alex stood opposite his opponent, a boy with a huge build, his black uniform wrapped around his muscles as if they were going to explode out at any moment.

A distance of ten meters between them. The referees stood on both sides of the two with weird expressions as they looked at Alex and his opponent, a Core mage against an Adept mage?

What was wrong with this kid’s academy?

All the students who had participated in the solo mode matches so far were all Core rank mages, Alex was the first Adept mage to appear. This caused the spectators to murmur as well, didn’t the academy of this kid have another Core mage? What did they expect him to do when his opponent was stronger by an entire rank?

Alex could obviously hear everything with his superior hearing, his face was calm and he was even smiling faintly with both hands still in his pockets.

He glanced to the side and looked into the crowd of spectators, his eyes instantly locked on his parents and sister, they were sitting with the members of his explorer group.

Simon, Mia, Joan, and many others were present.

All of them immediately made cheering gestures at Alex when they noticed him staring at them, his father gave him a thumbs up with a proud look on his face while his mother and sister were screaming something which would usually be swallowed by the noise inside the stadium but Alex was able to hear them clearly.

"Don’t get hurt, surrender if you can’t win!" His mother was screaming out to him. It was obvious that she had heard the murmurs of those around her and thought that Alex had no chance of winning since his opponent was stronger.

As for his sister.

"Good Luck big brother, I know you’ll win!"

The smile on Alex’s face grew wider when he heard this, he then moved his gaze to another side. It was the sitting area of the Blue Void Magic Academy, his eyes locked with a pair of brown eyes and visible shock could be seen in those brown eyes.

They belonged to Laura.

A low gasp even escaped from her lips when Alex locked eyes with her and her expression turned twisted when she saw the provocative look on Alex’s face, she almost exploded from rage.

"Laura, do you know him?" A student sitting beside Laura asked with a calm tone when she noticed Laura’s behaviour, the boy shot a glance at Alex in the arena.

"He is from my former academy." Laura replied, moving her gaze away from Alex.

"Hmm, looks like you guys have some history. Sadly, you won’t be able to resolve it since he’ll lose in this match." The boy stated, Laura didn’t reply.

The boy didn’t say anything else and returned to staring at the arena, he was one of the two summoners on the team representing the Blue Void Magic Academy.

’Interesting, for an Adept mage to piss off Laura just by appearing, he definitely isn’t simple.’ the boy thought to himself.

Back in the arena, the referee announced for the match to start.

Alex and his opponent just continued staring at each other without saying anything. The stadium went silent as they waited for what would happen next.

The boy from Black Rose Magic Academy stared down at Alex since he was bigger, his gaze was hard as he looked at Alex’s hands that were in his pockets.

"Surrender, I have no interest in bullying those weaker than me." He said with an arrogant tone.

Alex didn’t reply and just kept staring at the other party. Seemingly annoyed by Alex’s attitude, the boy’s body exploded with the aura of Core mage and sent a gust of wind sweeping in all directions.

Even after that, he noticed that Alex’s expression was still calm. He felt that this weak Adept mage was looking down on him.

"That does it, don’t blame me for being cruel!" The boy yelled angrily before summoning his stars. Purple stars began to appear around him one after the other in quick successions.

The lightning element!

Many of the spectators gasped when they saw this, those from Dragonic Magic Academy felt their hearts jump to their throat upon seeing this. They looked at Alex who still had his hands in his pockets.

Why wasn’t he doing anything?!

Just after the lightning mage summoned all of his stars and began to connect them to form his star patterns, Alex lazily brought out one of his hands from his left pocket and stretched his palm at the other party.

His silver white stars appeared around him and formed a star pattern in less than a second, his speed startled everyone.

Even those from the Dragonic Magic Academy were shocked.

The eyes of the lightning mage widened when he saw this, now he realized why Alex’s cloak was silver white; he had the space element!

But it was already too late for him to react as Alex made a grabbing motion while saying. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Telekinesis."

Instantly, the lightning mage felt a powerful force wrap around his body and tightened as if trying to squeeze the life out of him before lifting him off the ground.

His breathing turned rough and he could feel his bones protesting in pain that was still manageable.

Everyone gasped at the sudden turn of events, Alex’s parents revealed surprised and excited looks while the members of the Rising Wave had expressions that showed that they had expected this.

As for members of the Dragonic Magic Academy, their expressions showed their astonishment and joy when they saw Alex lift his opponent off the ground.

In the sitting area of the Blue Void Magic Academy, the boy who had asked about Alex earlier smiled faintly.

"The space element, how interesting."

In the arena, after getting grabbed by Alex, the lightning Mage’s expression was still stubborn as he tried to break free with brute force.

"This is a sneaky attack, release me right now!"
