Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 277: The Osworth mansion
After leaving the Union Core Center, Alex went directly to the home of the Osworth family; he didn’t have time to waste and besides, the Osworth family mansion was located inside Brandvel so there was no need for him to delay.
Vice Dean Hannah had told him to check on the head of the Osworth family, chances of the shadow monarch handing the soul jewel over to him were low but Alex was willing to try.
If the shadow monarch really possessed a soul jewel, he was willing to use whatever means to take it!
Alex had asked Maria about the location of the Osworth family earlier so he knew that he was going in the right direction.
He arrived at the place shortly after and realised that the place shouldn’t be called a mansion, it was as large as a small village!
’This entire place belonged to the Osworth family?’ Alex was first shocked but then realised that it wasn’t really that strange since the shadow monarch was a Saint and probably had a lot of family members.
Another thing that Alex realized after arriving was that the entire territory of the Osworth family was surrounded by a massive powerful formation, even his senses as a Saint rank mage was unable to penetrate it.
It felt like standing in front of a thick fog and being unable to sense anything no matter which direction he turned too.
"This is going to take longer than I planned," Alex mumbled to himself. He could still see the entire place but since his senses as a mage were shrouded by this fog formation, looking for the shadow monarch wouldn’t be as easy as he hoped.
But this wasn’t a big problem as Alex entered the territory of the Osworth family.
Immediately after he stepped through the first gate, several people appeared in front of him.
"Who are you?" One of them asked with a serious expression.
Alex stared at them in silence, a total of five people and each one of them was at the Master mage rank. They were also in similar uniforms and were most likely servants of the Osworth family.
"Wait, that mask, Mr Chen!"
Before Alex could reply, one of the men recognised him. The other four also recognised Alex too, well, they recognised Mr Chen.
Immediately, their attitude changed.
"Welcome to the Osworth mansion, Mr Chen. Are you looking for something or someone?" One of the men asked.
"I want to see the shadow monarch," Alex replied calmly.
The eyes of the five men widened. Mr Chen wanted to see the head of the Osworth family? The shadow monarch was an illusionary figure to most of the residents of this place as they have never seen him before.
These five men were no different, each one of them had worked here for at least twenty years but they had never seen the shadow monarch with their eyes before.
"Umm, Mr Chen. I’m sorry but I don’t think that would be possible, we don’t even know if the shadow monarch is here." One of the men stated, his tone was as humble as possible.
"Hmm, then who’s currently in charge of the Osworth family?" Alex asked.
He was really getting tired of having this discussion.
’If not for this damned formation, I would have just looked for him myself,’ Alex thought to himself.
He couldn’t wait to learn more about formations at the university so that next time he encountered such a formation, he would break it or at least be able to navigate his way around.
"Lord Rigmus is in charge of the family, he’s the first son of the family head." One of them voiced out.
"Okay, take me to him." Alex demanded.
The men didn’t give any excuse this time and immediately asked Alex to come with them. Three of them went back to do whatever they were doing before Alex came while two led Alex to the villa of lord Rigmus.
’Using Master rank mages as servants, big families are truly different.’ Alex thought as he walked behind the two men.
One had to know that every mage had their own pride. An ordinary Core mage could go to some backwater City and easily make a name for himself there, earlier a lot of money and respect.
Expert rank mages could even stay in a place like Brandvel and still earn a lot from being an explorer or doing other things. Just how much was the Osworth family paying their workers to keep Master rank mages as servants?
But Alex soon realised that his thinking was still shallow as they went deeper into the Osworth family, he came across stronger servants of the Osworth family! Before finally arriving at their destination, he was passed to other servants the deeper they were and current, the servant who brought him to the villa of lord Rigmus was a Sage rank mage!
"Please go in, Mr Chen. Lord Rigmus is waiting for you." The Sage mage gestured for Alex to go into the villa, his tone was polite and respectful.
Alex nodded before walking through the door and entering a massive living room that was lavishly furnished.
What got his attention the most was the massive chandelier that hung from the ceiling. It filled the living room with bright light and made the temperature remain cool at all times.
Alex instantly noticed that every single light bead of the chandelier was a magic item!
’Luxury,’ was the word that appeared in Alex’s mind after seeing this.
"Mr Chen, it’s an honour to finally meet you. I’ve heard so much about you but haven’t had the opportunity to meet you, to think that you’ll come looking for me.
Please, make yourself comfortable." A rough voice sounded at this moment, pulling Alex’s attention to the person standing in front of him.
A man with a huge build and unkept beard on his face, sharp eyes that belonged to only those who had experienced a lot, and short black hair that reached below his ears.
For some reason, Alex felt that this was how Eric would look like when he became an adult.
’Well, they are from the same family so it shouldn’t be surprising.’
"You must be lord Rigmus," Alex said as he walked toward the other party who was still standing.
"Hahaha, please disregard the title. I am only addressed that way by members of the Osworth family, I dare not ask you to address me as lord. You can just call me Rigmus" Rigmus laughed and said while bending slightly forward.
He only sat down after Mr Chen was already seated.
Alex was observing the other party, Rigmus might seem humble and friendly but every of his movements were graceful and deliberate.
On top of that, he was a Supreme rank mage.
"I apologise that I prepared nothing for your arrival, Mr Chen. It was a short notice and there wasn’t enough time," Rigmus said after sitting down.
"Don’t bother, I’m here for something very important and do not have time for anything else." Alex was very straight forward.
Rigmus paused for a moment before nodding his head.
"I understand, so what can we help you with?" He asked, his face turning serious.
"I want to see the shadow monarch," Alex announced in a soft tone.
Rigmus’ eyes shrank upon hearing this, visibly stunned.
"You want to see my father?"
