Chapter 153: Chapter 152

Hiro giggled, his cheeks tinged with pink, happiness blooming in his chest. But then a thought crept into his mind—one that made him frown a little.

“Um, Raiden... what happened to your mum?” he asked cautiously. “I remember a woman came to our house once. After you were accused of...um, you know... that stuff. She said she was your mum. She begged and cried for my brother to drop the charges against you. Was that... was that your real mum? Or...”

Raiden chuckled. His evil stepmother was quite unbelievable. He glanced at the glowing time again, noticing that he was going to be late. There was someone very important he had to see.

“I’ll tell you all about my mum later tonight, okay?” he said, brushing Hiro’s sandy brown locks gently out of his face and kissing his cheek. “I’m already late for my meeting.”

Hiro nodded slowly, trusting him. “Okay. Tonight.”

“Tonight,” Raiden echoed with a small smile, holding Hiro’s gaze for a beat longer before finally releasing his hand and shifting him back into the passenger seat.

The afternoon sunlight poured gently through the large windows of the private hospital room where Hiro sat beside Saika, their laughter echoing like soft chimes in the calm atmosphere. They’d been playing games and chatting non-stop for hours now—about food, about old memories, about random gossip neither of them really cared about but enjoyed anyway.

Saika looked radiant. Her dark hair, once dulled by illness and fatigue, now shimmered like silk around her shoulders. Her dark eyes were sharp and lively, glowing with renewed strength, and her complexion looked healthier than ever—vibrant, smooth, flushed with color.

Hiro’s heart swelled just watching her smile. Seeing his sister healing, blossoming back into herself, filled him with a sense of peace he hadn’t realized he was missing.

“You know...” she said suddenly, squinting at him suspiciously as she popped a grape into her mouth. “Is it just me, or are you getting fatter?”

“Huh?” Hiro blinked, caught off guard. He looked down at himself. He was getting fatter?

She laughed and reached over, pinching his cheeks playfully. “Seriously! Your boss must be paying you well. What the hell are you eating?”

Hiro’s face lit up bright red. Oh, Raiden was feeding him well, alright. Not just with food—but with attention, warmth, emotional support... and a healthy dose of toe-curling pleasure. His thoughts started to drift a little too vividly, and just as he was opening his mouth to dodge the question, his phone buzzed in his pocket.

He quickly glanced down—and his heart did a full flip when he saw the name.

Raiden.

“I’ll be right back,” Hiro said quickly to Saika, already rising from his seat.

She just nodded, waving him away.

Hiro slipped out into the hallway and answered the call. It was a video call, and the second Raiden’s handsome face appeared on screen—smiling, Hiro’s expression melted into pure affection.

“Hey, baby,” Raiden grinned, his voice a smooth drawl. “Miss me?”

Hiro’s cheeks turned even redder. “Yes,” he admitted shyly, “I miss you a lot. Do you miss me?”

Raiden chuckled, leaning closer to the camera. “Oh, I miss you a lot more. You’re all I can think about love.”

Then with a devilish smirk, Raiden flipped his camera around—and Hiro’s eyes widened as he saw the very prominent bulge straining against the front of Raiden’s expensive slacks.

“Look what the thought of you does to me.” Raiden teased.

The camera flipped back to his face, just in time to catch Hiro covering his burning cheeks with both hands, eyes wide with embarrassment.

Raiden laughed—a rich, low sound that sent shivers down Hiro’s spine. “God, you’re so cute.”

Shyly, Hiro peeked through his fingers. “C-Come back early,” he murmured, “so we can... do something about it.”

Raiden’s grin turned downright wicked. “Oh really? What exactly will you do, babe?”

Hiro glanced left and right to make sure no one was watching, then leaned close to the phone and whispered, “I’ll... I’ll suck it.”

Raiden let out a low, strained groan, pinching the bridge of his nose as if trying to calm himself down. “Hmm, baby... you’re killing me.”

Just then, there was a knock on Raiden’s office door. He sighed in frustration, glancing that way with a scowl before turning back to the camera.

“I’ve sent Han to bring you lunch,” he said quickly. “He’ll be there in ten minutes. I’ll come pick you up in two hours, okay?”

“Okay,” Hiro nodded, heart still racing. “I love you, Raiden.”

Raiden’s expression softened immediately. “I love you more, Hiro.” He smiled, warm and adoring, before winking at him. “Take care, love.”

The screen went dark, but Hiro’s face stayed warm long after the call ended—his heart fluttering wildly, and his lips curving into the softest, most lovesick smile.

“Come in.” Raiden permitted, slipping his phone into his pocket before adjusting his pants so he could be comfortable despite his straining erection.

The door swug open and a tall, wiry man walked in. He was dressed in a tailored charcoal-gray suit, his black overcoat draped neatly over one arm. His salt-and-pepper hair was slicked back, and a thin scar ran just beneath his left eye. His sharp eyes, the colour of fading steel, took in everything with a quick flicker before he bowed politely.

"Mr. Yamato."

"Mr. Takeda," Raiden greeted curtly, gesturing to the dark leather couch, across from him. "Please, have a seat."

Mr Takeda sat down with a polite nod and Miss Ling stepped in quietly, setting a tray down between them. Without a word, she poured steaming cups of oolong tea for the two men, bowed, and silently left the room, closing the door behind her.

“I hope you have good news for me.” Raiden said.

The man didn’t waste time. He placed a thick manila folder on the table and flipped it open, spreading out a series of documents and photos.

"I’m afraid it isn’t, Mr Yamato." he said calmly.

Raiden’s jaw tensed. "Go on."

Mr Takeda tapped the top sheet, revealing surveillance photos and redacted files. "Mr. Watanabe’s parents are not in prison."

Raiden cursed under his breath. “Fuck.”

He leaned forward, scanning the papers with narrowed eyes. It was a confirmation of what he had already begun to suspect and he felt his gut tightening into an ugly knot.

“I thought as much.” He said. “I mean, think about it. Why would their parents refuse to see them for four fucking years? Turns out they’re not even behind bars.”

He looked up, sharp. “So where are they?”

Mr Takeda sighed through his nose and sat back slightly. “That... is what I’m trying to find out. The Watanabes aren’t ordinary people. Every single trace of them has been carefully scrubbed from the system. It was difficult enough to confirm they aren’t incarcerated.”
