Betrayal by love-Chapter 17 - : Who is she
Chapter 17 - 17: Who is she
Luna, standing near their table, said, " You guys! I can't manage both of you." Her voice was strained.
Kim stands nearby, his eyes fixed on Nate. "So, you already planned this, huh?" he murmured with suspicion.
Luna took her phone and called Aaron, nervously dialed Aaron, the ringing echoing in the garden, but no answer.
Nate glanced at Luna, a smirk playing on his lips, and moved towards Luna. "Is that everything okay? If you don't mind, do you need any help?"
Luna glanced at the empty garden; her eyes filled with worry, and she nodded. "Yup... I can't handle both of them like this. It's already late." She hesitated for a brief moment and then asked," Nate, can you help me? If you are free, can you drop Eve at her house?"
Nate glances at Evangeline, then back at Luna. "Alright, is that okay with her?"
Luna watched both of them, her expression apologetic. "I know you're a new student, but I have no choice. It's already late."
Nate nodded his head with a warm smile. "Okay, I'll take care of Eve," Nate said with a friendly tone.
Luna smiled back, then struggled to lift Zoey. "Why, she is too weight," she murmured, and she managed to walk slowly towards Luna's car. In her urgency, she forgot to mention Eve's address. While she was driving, she tried to call several times, but there was no response from Eve's phone, " shit!! Why is no one answering my call? Uh!!!!!! I hope she will be at home." Finally, Luna managed to get Zoey home.
Back in the garden, Nate glanced at her condition and gently shook her hand. "Hey, wake up," he whispered, but she didn't respond.
"Shit! I have to do something, HUH!" He said, carefully grabbed her shoulder and guided her toward the door, placing his hands on her waist and supporting her to walk.
Lisa, standing at the front door, bowed to them with a bright smile and said, "Thanks for coming. Go safe, Nate. "After a small glance of Evangeline's condition," You can manage her, right?"
"I think so..." Nate replied, turned towards the entrance, and went to his car. Kim, who standing near his car, gave a quick wave before leaving, and he understood his plan. "See you, man".
Inside the car, Nate glanced at Eve, who was passed out against the window, the soft rise and fall of her chest indicating her peaceful sleep.

Nate started driving, then frowned. "Uh!!!! Shit! I forgot to ask her address; She's so out of it... I wonder where she lives. She didn't give me her address." He pulled over to the side of the road and searched her handbag for a phone to call someone. After checking her handbag, he found nothing.
Nate sighed. "What is the purpose of this purse? I don't have anyone's number. to call." Unsure of what to do, he decided. "Maybe I'll just take her to my apartment, he thought, I'll figure it out later. I planned something, but God planned another idea. It's not my plan."
He drove toward his apartment, keeping one eye on the road and the other on Eve, the streetlight lamp reflecting her half-sleeping. She murmured, "I want another shot. I am broken today." A small, amused smirk spreading across his face. "Is this the right thing, or am I doing wrong?" his mind still racing. What if her bodyguards find out?"
Arriving at his apartment, Nate stopped his car, opened her door, and carefully helped Eve out of the car.
Eve groggily, her hand runs over his head, "Hey, what are you doing? Why is your hair too short, Zoey? Where's your long hair now? You never asked for my suggestion on the style!" Eve speaks too much.
Nate's veiny hand tightened around Evangeline's small waist, but she shook unsteadily, her vision getting blurred. Leaning her head back, she looked up and finally made out the man's face blur, angular shape dark by harsh overhead lights. Her tiny hand ran against the solid muscles of his stomach, she was surprised by the feel of his eight-pack beneath her palm.
She smelled his scent. "Hey... you're not Zoey?" she muttered with confusion. Suddenly, she tries to push him away, pushing his hands off her waist. "Get your dirty hands off me!" she shouted. "Help me? Please anybody... Help me! He is kidnapping! Her voice echoing in the empty hall.
Nate's jaw twitched, his eyebrows narrowed, and his patience finally busted. In one hasty movement, he lifted Evangeline, her feet swinging above the polished floor. She gasped, covered by fear, and He carried her to the lift, the cold metal doors sliding open with a soft hush. Press the upward button to go to the top floor.
As the lift went to the top floor, Evangeline's mind raced with confusion. I have never been to a place like this before. Is that stalker? Or Who? Why is no one here?
"What are you doing? If you want money, I can give you money..." she murmured, her voice trembling.
But he didn't respond to unusual talk.
She lashed out in anger; her fist barely missed his shoulder. When the doors opened, they revealed a dimly lit hallway. Nate carried her out from the lift, his steady footsteps echoing on the empty floor, and he walked toward his apartment. The air was thick with a strange, heavy silence, broken only by Evangeline's torn breaths.
From a distance nearby, the quiet hum of the camera, the shadowy figure adjusted their camera lens, focusing on Nate and Eve entering his apartment.
Click. Click. The figure didn't dare miss a moment, capturing every detail—the way Nate held the door open for Eve, the subtle laugh she gave in return.
After a few more shots, the figure leaned back, satisfied, and scrolled through the photos. A sly smile tugged at their lips as they opened a messaging app. The photos were sent with a single tap, accompanied by the message: "My job, Done"
Somewhere in a dark lit room, a phone buzzed with a message. A hand with jet-black nails picked it up, the glow of the screen revealing a face. The woman scans the photos, her expression indicates her anger. "How dare you, Nate. You'll regret this."
The sharp sound of a glass door sliding open breaks the room's silence. Her assistant entered, professionally with a neatly organized file in hand. "Ma'am, your flight ticket and passport are ready," the assistant delivered the message smoothly. "Your flight is tomorrow evening, Texas."
She didn't look up immediately, her gaze fixed on the photos. Then, after a beat, she nodded. "Okay. Book my stay at the hotel."
"Sure, ma'am," the assistant replied, bowing slightly before leaving the room.
Her nails nibbled the edge of her phone as she whispered, "You made the biggest mistake of your life, Nate. But she..." Her voice grew darker and colder. "She's going to pay for your mistake." She turned off the phone and the screen showed her mad face.
Back at Nate's apartment, things took an awkward turn. Evangeline could barely stand as Nate supported her toward his door. When he paused to enter his password, Eve suddenly lost her balance and stumbled into him. "Oops, sorry, it's your fault, not mine," she muttered, though her expression remained blank.
Nate made her to steady, his brows furrowed in confusion. "Evangeline, are you okay?" he asked with concern, gently shaking her shoulder.
"Why do you care?" she whispered, her head slumped as she leaned against him.
"Shit, this is going to be a long night" he murmured.
Finally, after a long struggle, he got her inside and, opening his room, carefully laid her down on his bed gently, his eyes scanning her head to toe. A small smirk appeared on his face. The soft light of the room made her legs gleam, and her dress had shifted upwards.
He hesitated, then carefully adjusted the fabric, his fingers hovering just above her skin. "Why, she looks great in this outfit." He took a deep breath. "Control yourself, Nate. Don't mess up anything..." and carefully slipped off her heels and placed them properly near his bed.
