Beyond the Apocalypse-Chapter 100: Decades to dominate all of Terra
Chapter 100: Decades to dominate all of Terra
"Awesome!" Vlad’s eyes widened with utter thrill as he considered the power of the Runic Set the A.I. Chip had designed. It would allow him to unleash the same abilities Arasbus deployed during their battles and much more. The set would grant his body abyssal fiery abilities, making his impact on the battlefield even greater.
The excitement was so intense that Vlad couldn’t help but jump from the ground, sending the small yellow cat that had been resting on his chest flying into the air.
"MIAW!" Jormungandr meowed as his tiny body flew through the air. Of course, with his supernatural agility and dexterity, he landed with flawless precision. Immediately, he jumped forward, grabbed Vlad’s arm with his claws, and bit him.
"Ahhh, you prick!" Vlad shouted at the small yellow cat but did not push him away, instead shaking his head with a smile. Jormungandr was a powerful life form capable of facing Champion demons on his own, yet he still acted like a cat sometimes, something the young man found amusing.
"Enough, enough." After a few seconds of biting, Vlad grabbed the small yellow cat by the scruff, the loose skin at the back of his neck. "Let’s get to work."
Jormungandr was already satisfied with his vengeance and nodded. The duo then began to process the materials for the Infernal Comet Runic Set, which consisted mainly of Arasbus’ blood and internal organs.
Vlad and Jormungandr were already used to preparing the materials, so they did not need much time to complete the work. After that was done, Vlad threw the rest of Arasbus’ corpse into his space ring before charging the materials into his runic pen.
Twenty minutes of rest and focus were all Vlad needed to push his mind to the correct state as he began to engrave the runes on his body. While the A.I. Chip had carved all the knowledge and muscular memory into his soul and body and had a lot of experience by this point, engraving runes into your own body was much more challenging than doing it on someone else. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
It took a lot of effort, but Vlad could engrave the runes on his forehead, chest, arms, legs, and feet after almost three hours of hard work. However, things became increasingly demanding when it was time for the Rune of Firestorm Shield, which went on his back.
’The Rune of Firestorm Shield will work in conjunction with the Rune of Demonic Resilience, allowing my body to endure the recoil of falling from dozens of meters at a shocking speed with a fiery explosion. Failing would waste the entire Runic Set, and I have no more material for making a second one.’ Vlad’s eyes burned with focus and determination.
He rested for a few minutes and placed several mirrors in the room to have an unobstructed view of his back before starting the engraving.
Jormungandr stood on the side and, seeing Vlad’s intense focus, used his magic to cast a simple silencing spell, ensuring no sound could disturb him. While his main forte was lightning spells, that didn’t mean he couldn’t use other spells as well, especially simple Mortal Tier Spells.
After two more hours and pushing his mind, focus, and dexterity to the limit, Vlad was able to engrave the last runic line. He was utterly exhausted, yet he couldn’t help but smile as he felt all six runes connect into a single set stronger than the sum of its parts.
"¡Boom!"
A small blast of dark red fiery energy erupted from Vlad’s body, spreading everywhere and burning everything it touched.
Jormungandr was inside the room, but he showed no concern as his Runic Set glowed just as the fiery wave was about to touch him, generating an electric shield around his figure that kept the flames at bay.
"Hahahaha!" Vlad burst into laughter as he felt his power. He didn’t care that the room was set on fire since nothing of great value was left inside, and his eyes turned to the ceiling, eager to jump.
There was no doubt in the young man’s mind that his jump would allow him to break through the tower ceiling, and his fall would have the power of a ballistic missile capable of leveling a small building. Of course, Vlad would not unleash that power inside the military base. After the initial burst of excitement, he took a deep breath and focused on the runes covering his body.
The flames that covered the room flowed back into Vlad’s body before the fiery aura faded. Although it was just in a very basic state, the Inferno Comet Runic Set allowed him to control the fire generated by his energy.
After calming his fire, Vlad looked around and saw how his flames had practically destroyed the room, but he just shrugged his shoulders. The room and the entire tower were impressive from a standard point of view, but they had little value. He would just communicate with Chief Counselor Alonz, and people would come to fix things.
Vlad and Jormungandr left the room. Once they reached the main hall, the young man threw his body onto the couch as he rested. His eyes focused on the ceiling, and thoughts began to cross his mind. He had just completed one task, and his mind immediately went to another.
"What are you thinking, Boss?" Jormungandr had always been very curious, so he did not hesitate to ask Vlad that question, trying to peek into the young man’s mind.
"I am confident that Anglius and Alonz will do a good job with the military and government, and I have already improved the strength of the core members of our force. However, at this rate, it will take years to take control of the country and decades to dominate all of Terra." A few decades to take control of an entire world was an incredible feat, but it was clear by Vlad’s tone of voice that he found that to be too slow.
