Beyond the Apocalypse-Chapter 1086: Evolve Original Sin
Vlad was filled with questions and doubt.
He had no idea who—or what—this entity truly was. While the spark of light had saved him from drowning in the ocean of madness, that did not mean its intentions were pure. Power always carried a price. Following its design could be dangerous. If he were careless, he might end up no different from a puppet, bound to the will of a fallen Primordial God.
Still, his situation left little room for caution.
"It’s not like I have a choice. If I refuse... I die."
The True Depravita of Wrath let out a slow breath, fully aware of the precariousness of his position. For a brief moment, exhaustion and frustration flickered across his face.
Then his eyes sharpened.
Doubt faded, replaced by focus and iron determination. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
He would use every tool, every weapon, every fragment of power at his disposal to defeat Dream of Madness.
As for the consequences... he would deal with them later.
"How can you help me?" Vlad asked.
At his words, a surge of emotion radiated from the tiny light. Thrill. Anticipation. A burning desire for vengeance that had waited an eternity for this moment.
But the excitement quickly settled, and the presence spoke again, its tone calm and precise.
"I could fuse this spark directly with your soul," the Primordial remnant said. "It would grant you enough strength to break free from this domain. However, the strain would cripple your soul afterward. You would survive... but you would never recover your former power."
Vlad frowned immediately.
That path was useless.
If he left this place weakened, he would simply die outside instead.
Fortunately, the spark was not finished.
"My Divine Domain was Potential and Actualization," the light continued. "What I can do instead is push your existence into a state of supreme enlightenment. For a brief period, you will be able to manifest the full extent of your potential—every limit loosened, every restriction broken."
The light paused.
"How long that state lasts... will depend on you."
Vlad exhaled slowly.
There were no guarantees. No certainty that his potential would be enough to break free from this prison—let alone defeat Dream of Madness afterward.
But there was no other option.
He lifted his gaze, resolve hardening.
"Do it."
The spark brightened instantly, its radiance intensifying as all its remaining power gathered into a single intent.
"Good luck, Warrior of the Light," the Primordial remnant said softly. "Use this power to destroy the one who took everything from me."
Then the light exploded forward.
It merged with Vlad’s body, sinking deep into his soul—and into the souls of the four other True Depravitas fused within him.
For an instant, everything became clear.
His eyes glowed with a profound enlightenment, a clarity that seemed capable of piercing through every obstacle, every chain that had ever restrained him.
But the moment the light entered him, the surrounding darkness reacted.
The madness surged back like a tidal wave.
Black tar burst forward from every direction, clinging to his body as it tried to devour him once more.
This time, however, the resistance was immediate.
The power of the Sins erupted.
Wrath. Pride. Gluttony. Envy. Greed.
Each Eye of Sin blazed with overwhelming force, their energies colliding with the invading madness in a violent clash. The domain trembled as two primordial forces collided—Sin against Madness.
Inside that broken reality, a cataclysmic battle began.
Yet after only a few moments, Vlad frowned.
Then he shook his head.
"This is wrong."
The light in his eyes burned brighter as understanding deepened.
"Simply amplifying the Seven Sins... that’s a flawed path."
One by one, the raging energies of the Eyes began to fade.
The resistance weakened.
The darkness seized the opportunity.
Madness surged forward, flooding over his body once more, sinking into his flesh, invading his veins, reaching for his core.
Vlad did not resist.
His mind had already moved beyond the limits of his physical form.
He was looking at something deeper.
"Original Sin is not just power," he whispered inwardly. "It’s a raw, primordial force."
Understanding continued to unfold.
"What I need isn’t to make it stronger... I need to evolve it. Let it transcend."
The black tar spread rapidly across his body.
Within seconds, only his face remained visible.
Still, his enlightenment only deepened.
If anything, the pressure of impending death sharpened his awareness further.
"To evolve it," Vlad realized, "I must stop letting Original Sin flow inward... stop using it to empower myself."
A new direction formed.
"Gather all its destructive impulse... and turn it outward."
The darkness climbed higher.
It covered his face.
It reached his final eye.
"Not a power of consumption," his thoughts continued calmly.
"A power that rejects despair... that overturns fate itself."
The madness closed in.
The final layer sealed.
For a heartbeat, the True Depravita of Wrath disappeared completely.
Then it happened.
A single point of light ignited within the darkness.
It expanded instantly—bursting outward in a radiant explosion of starlight.
The brilliance resembled a vast meteor shower, countless streams of cosmic light erupting in every direction. Wherever the starlight touched, the madness did not merely retreat.
It burned.
It disintegrated.
It ceased to exist.
The domain shook violently as the tar that had consumed Vlad was not only expelled—but completely incinerated.
---
Outside the domain, the battle in the void had reached its breaking point.
The White Death and the Sovereigns had fought with everything they possessed, their attacks relentless, their resolve unyielding.
But the power of the Alien Empyrean was overwhelming.
Wounds covered their bodies.
The Obsidian Dragon King had been split in half.
Only the runic formation anchoring their life forces and souls kept them alive—and even that was beginning to fail.
The White Death’s breathing was ragged.
His left arm was gone.
Blood and white flames leaked from his torn form.
Yet even then, he clenched his teeth, gathering the last of his strength as Dream of Madness lunged forward to deliver the final blow.
Then—
"BOOM."
The domain that had swallowed Vlad shattered like fragile glass.
Fragments of warped flesh and darkness scattered across the void.
At the center of the explosion stood a single figure.
The True Depravita of Wrath.
His body was intact.
His presence had changed.
And around him, bathing the endless void in silent brilliance, flowed a vast and glorious starlight.
