Beyond the Apocalypse-Chapter 78: Fighting 5 Champions (II)

Vlad’s eyes glowed with ferocity as he realized how strong his body had become, easily overpowering a Champion demon. He was still in the Mortal Tier, yet his Depravita Racial Heritage, Bloodline Ability, and skills allowed him to dominate those in the next Tier.

The feeling of power did not make Vlad lose focus, and he turned to the side as another demon flashed toward him.

The approaching Champion was a Demon Spider. As his name suggested, the demon was a gargantuan spider with a hard, shell-like exoskeleton. The protective shell covering his legs ended in sharp spikes, perfect for impalements.

Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he saw the sharp spider legs aiming at him. He immediately flashed back, dodging and then charging back into the fray, attacking the Demon Spider. His electrified swords struck the side of the Champion demon, leaving a deep cut.

Blood spurted from the Demon Spider, and he immediately retreated in agony as he attempted to block the barrage of sword strikes from Vlad. Fortunately for the Champion demon, the Golden Demon Lizard joined the fray, turning the conflict into a three-sided battle.

Vlad only smiled as the lightning arcs around his body grew more potent, and he dodged the claws of the Golden Demon Lizard before slashing with his sword and leaving a deep cut, only to block the Demon Spider’s spiked legs.

The two demon Champions attacked with brutality and ferocity, but at most, they could only keep Vlad at bay, showing the immense difference in their powers.

The other three demonic Champions were a Demonic Hyena, a Spiked Gorilla, and a Fire Bear. They saw that the human was pushing their companions. If they joined the fray, overcoming the human and forcing him to escape would be easy, but that would mean the end for the demonic beasts.

Rage and killing intent appeared in the three demonic Champions as they marched forward, ready to break the warriors’ shield formation and lay havoc on the pikemen who were butchering the demonic beasts.

Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he saw this, knowing that ordinary soldiers could not endure the onslaught of monsters as powerful as tanks. However, he did not despair and instead focused his killing intent only on the two: the Golden Lizard and the Demon Spider.

The demon Champions marched with pure rage and killing intent, their speed rising higher and higher as they adapted to the mud. Soon, they reached soldiers and saw the ground full of demonic beast corpses. The trio’s eyes glowed with killing intent as they were ready to break the shield formation and start a massacre.

Seeing such massive monsters marching toward them, full of killing intent, would have shattered the will of ordinary people, but their rage allowed them to stay resolute. Besides, they knew they were not alone.

The Spiked Gorilla and the Demonic Hyena were the first to reach the shield formation. The creatures lunged with pure killing intent, yet two seemingly unimportant shieldmen flashed toward them, their Force exploding with much greater strength than a mere Level 1 Warrior.

The Spiked Gorilla was ready to send the shieldmen flying when a white hammer came crashing down on his figure. The attack came suddenly, and the demon could not block it, receiving a powerful hammer strike in the chest that pushed him a few meters back.

Clasius’ eyes widened as he saw the power of his hammer strike. He was a Level 2 Warrior, and there was no reason for his attack to have so much power. Yet, all his hard work paid off, and he was able to double the weight of his weapon as it descended, increasing its momentum and gaining enough strength to harm even a Champion demon!

On the left flank, an even more shocking scene occurred as Cazan threw his shield toward the Demonic Hyena, hindering the demon’s view, before striking it with his massive white club. While Cazan and Clasius’ levels were equal, the latter’s Gift was much more advanced, allowing him to clash head-on with the Champion Demon and strike the hyena’s head with his club, sending the demon flying away.

The last Champion demon, the Flame Bear, was shocked to see so many powerful people on the human side, but he did not lose focus, and his path was clear. When he was twenty meters from the humans, he opened his maw and was ready to unleash a torrent of fire.

"¡Boom!"

Unfortunately for the Champion demon, an explosive projectile landed on his face before he could unleash his attack. It was not overwhelmingly powerful, and thanks to the cover of his dark Force, it only left his face bleeding. However, that was just the start since the next second, more and more explosive projectiles landed on his body.

The Flame Bear used one of his massive paws to block the projectiles from landing on his face and could see the one firing at him was a skinny man. With the protection of his dark Force, he could still march, but the projectiles were only the start since the next second, dozens of tiny metal daggers flashed toward him and began to cut his body.

Frank and Mirena were using all their power to attack the demon Champion, doing so much damage that it could not move.

"Keep killing!" A voice full of courage and killing intent echoed across the entire battlefield.

The shieldmen and pikemen were in a trance upon seeing Vlad’s inner group’s display of power, but that voice drew them back to their task. All of them turned to the origin and saw the young man fighting two of the massive beasts at the same time and winning!

"Kill!" "Kill!" "Kill!" "Kill!"

The soldiers began to chant a single word, one that expressed the sum of the feelings in their hearts, as they continued killing and butchering, killing nonstop. Their speed was impressive, and while they drained their energy, the Origin Force they gained made up for it.
