Chapter 86: The last fight (IV)

A sword met a massive spiked club with a resounding clang, sparks flying as metal scraped against metal, with wisps of fire and arcs of lightning flooding in all directions. The force of the impact reverberated through both weapons, creating a shockwave that rippled through the air.

Vlad’s muscles strained against the immense pressure, but his grip on the sword remained steady. His eyes were pure focus as he stared at the Abyssal demon, who showed the same intent.

As the seconds passed and their weapons clashed over and over, the focus on the Depravita and Abyssal only increased, and their senses became sharper, enhancing the strength and skill behind their attacks.

The Depravita and Abyssal were actually growing more powerful during the fight. They used the enemy and the threat of death to improve their talent and skills, pushing themselves higher and higher.

However, everything had to come to an end, and the zenith of their clash finally arrived as Arasbus struck down with his club, charging all the strength he had left in that single attack.

The spiked club came down incredibly fast and with immense power, but Vlad did not move away or dodge. His eyes showed absolute focus as he raised his sword, making it clash with the spiked club.

With a twist of his wrist, Vlad redirected the momentum of the Abyssal demon’s club, pushing it to the side and off its intended path. While he saved his head from bursting open like a melon, the spiked club still reached his left arm, sliding by its side, shattering the armor and destroying the flesh.

Had it not been for the Lightning Barrier, the spiked club would have shattered the muscles and broken all the bones in his arm while burning the flesh, essentially crippling the left arm.

The wound generated immense pain, but Vlad’s focus did not waver for a single second as it was his chance. He raised his sword, aiming it toward the right side of the Abyssal demon’s chest, before gathering his Force in the soles of his feet and the point of his weapon.

"Single Pierce!" Vlad activated his Force skill, propelling his body and piercing the sword into the chest of the Abyssal demon, reaching all the way to the heart!

Arasbus’s entire body trembled as he felt the sword burying inside his heart, severing it in two. Shock appeared in the eyes of the Abyssal as he understood the type of wound he had just received, and he looked at the young man who did it.

At the moment of their death, a warrior would show their true and purest self, some of them cursing their enemies or showing pure fear. As for the Abyssal demon, what appeared on his face was a bloody smile full of satisfaction.

"Good fight... human. You... won." The light in the Abyssal demon’s eyes faded the next second, and his body fell to the ground the moment Vlad removed his sword.

Vlad’s eyes were sharp and focused, and they only relaxed as Origin Force emerged from the Abyssal’s corpse, with eighty percent flowing into his body and the rest into the small yellow cat on his back, ensuring the enemy was dead. At that point, a wave of utter exhaustion assaulted the young man, so strong that he could barely control his breathing and felt he would fall to the ground.

The battle with the Abyssal had been short, but it was the most intense fight he had taken since the start of the apocalypse. He was pushed beyond his limits again and again, and even with Jormungandr’s help, a single wrong move could have meant his death.

Vlad focused on the Abyssal’s corpse as the Origin Force restored his stamina and healed his body. frёeωebɳovel.com

Arasbus was evil, bloody, cruel, and merciless. Yet the demon was also direct and honest, never breaking his word or deviating from his nature. He was faithful to his convictions until the last second.

Vlad put his hand on Arasbus’s corpse and sent the Abyssal into his space ring before taking his second sword. While he had killed the enemy’s leader, that did not mean the battle was over. He detected over a thousand demonic beasts and several Champion demons still alive.

The young man felt the Origin Force finish healing his body and restoring his stamina before filling his lungs with air and shouting with all his strength, making sure his voice reached every corner of the battlefield.

"I WON!" There were two words, yet they had an explosive effect on the battlefield.

The Champion demons’ hearts filled with horror upon seeing that the Abyssal was gone. On the other hand, the humans smiled, and thrill overflowed their souls, knowing that their leader and the strongest among them had achieved victory.

Immediately after rallying the humans and breaking the demons’ spirits, Vlad turned his focus to the closest Champion demons and flashed forward with killing intent.

The young man and the small cat attacked with immense speed and power, the swords acting like the reaper’s scythe and cutting everything in their path while arcs of lightning blasted in all directions, jumping from one demon to another.

Blood, screams, and explosions filled the battlefield as the humans, full of thrill and vigor, began to massacre the demons. Had the aliens stood firm and adopted some sort of formation, they could have put up a decent fight, but they were too broken, and those who could form coherent thoughts were now afraid and wanted only to escape.

Less than ten minutes after Arasbus’s death, not a single demon was left alive on the battlefield, and the soldiers were finally able to rest as smiles rose on their faces. Every second of the fight had been one full of trauma and danger, with countless things that could have gone wrong, but none of that mattered now.

They took down the high demonic horde with more than six thousand demons, earning the right to keep living!
