Chapter 89: Valhalla (II)

Glory City, quiet and peaceful a moment ago, turned into a battlefield the next second as the fierce tribal warriors marched into the streets. Their imposing figures shocked everybody, throwing people into turmoil as they cowered in fear.

However, those with black armbands, who made up most of the population, were not the focus of the warriors’ attention. Instead, they targeted the men and women with golden armbands.

The Gifted in Glory City had grown accustomed to their feeling of power and had begun to see themselves as superior to the rest of the humans. Yet, all that bravado and arrogance fell in the face of the tattooed warriors.

Despite their thirst for blood and fighting will, the tattooed warriors were not crazy killing machines. As long as the Gifted surrendered immediately, they were simply knocked unconscious. However, the warriors cut them to pieces if they showed the slightest resistance or defiance.

Many of the Gifted attempted to fight back, but all were Mages who lacked even the most basic understanding of spells and Magic. They only knew how to fight using the weapons their masters had granted them, and without those, they could do nothing against such fierce powers.

Blood and chaos soon reverberated through the streets, but that was nothing compared to the destruction inside the Sky Reaper. The massive three-hundred-meter-tall building, elevated to a holy state where even the Gifted could not approach, was full of explosions as a massive battle unfolded inside.

Many of the tribal warriors had already reached the building’s first floor and were in a ferocious battle, but the true core of the fight was on the highest floor, where the young woman was facing five enemies.

The young woman held a shield in her left arm and a mace in her right hand. There were several wounds across her body, depicting the intensity of the battle, but her eyes remained cold and firm.

She gazed at the enemies in golden armor and could feel the energy marking them as Champions, yet that only made a fierce smile appear on her face, making her Force explode with more power and her tattoos glow with even more strength.

"Kill that whore!" one of the Champions roared in utter rage. He had fair skin, golden hair, and blue eyes, but the most distinctive characteristic was his wings, which were made of energy.

The man who shouted that order was an angel. In fact, the rulers of Glory City who had taken down the demons and established the caste system were all angels.

The four angel Champions heard the order of the man, and they knew they had to obey, but it was not so simple. While they had wounded the woman, she had inflicted much more damage on them, with several of their bones broken. Two of them could barely continue fighting due to their injuries.

However, no matter how weak and wounded they were, those four angel Champions understood that they could not ignore an order from the man. The Champion Warriors made their energy explode as they blasted forward, all at the same time.

The woman saw how all four angels attacked simultaneously from every direction. She took a deep breath and gathered her Force into her weapon, causing the mace to vibrate with contained power.

"Forcewave Strike!" Her voice echoed across the building as she swung her mace towards the angels, releasing the stored energy in a concentrated wave of force.

The force wave traveled forward at a shocking speed, impacting with immense power on all four angels. The Champions’ eyes widened as they took that strike point blank, feeling as if a house had crashed into their bodies, sending them flying away while puking blood.

A cold smile appeared on the young woman after sending the four angel Champions flying, but before she could get too happy, her eyes turned to the leader of the winged rats and saw how the man had charged a massive sphere of blue fire.

"Heaven’s Flame! Die, bitch!" The man shouted in rage and hatred, his face growing pale due to the energy exhaustion, but there was a smile on his face as he was sure his attack would kill the young woman.

Surprise appeared on the young woman’s face as she saw the torrent of flames coming her way. The power of that spell was definitely impressive. Yet, her eyes only glowed with resolve as her tattoos glowed, generating a massive amount of red energy that she gathered in her shield.

"Aegis Charge!" The young woman shouted valiantly as she charged forward, directing the infused energy into a powerful forward burst. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

The surge propelled the young woman at high speed with the shield at the front, turning her into a human battering ram that pierced through the torrent of blue flames!

Utter and absolute shock assaulted the angel Mage as he saw the young woman pierce through his spell. She acted before the torrent of flames’ power and momentum could reach its zenith. The guts to do something like that was beyond what the angel believed possible.

The angel did not have time to wonder how the young woman could develop those battle instincts as she appeared before him and struck down with her mace. An energy shield appeared around the angel Mage, but it barely lasted a moment before shattering, allowing the weapon to clash into his chest and blast him into the ground.

"AHHHHH!" The angel unleashed a scream of pain and agony, with blood spreading everywhere as that attack was too much for him. His eyes showed absolute terror as he saw how the woman stood above him, raising her weapon, ready to deliver the final blow.

"Wait!" The angel Mage used all the strength left in his body to shout, fear evident in his eyes. "If you... kill me, my family will... hunt you down!"

Disdain appeared on the young woman’s face as she heard that threat. "Since when do the vikings of Valhalla fear the winged rats of Heaven?"

That was the last thing the angel Mage heard before the woman’s mace came down, blasting his head to pieces like a bloody balloon.
