Chapter 250: Chapter 238: Wherever You Go, I Will Follow (Third Update)

Yi Luowa rested at home for a day, and Tong Airui, seeing her recovery, reluctantly agreed to let her attend class the next day.

As Yi Luowa was about to leave in the morning, she pouted and said, "I’m leaving now. Don’t miss me too much, I have classes all day and won’t be back until late tonight."

Tong Airui looked at her with reluctance, "Go ahead. If I finish my work early, I’ll come to pick you up."

Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "You don’t need to. You’ll waste hours traveling back and forth. I’ll come home by myself."

"I’ll wrap up as soon as I can and give you a call then." Tong Airui smiled and bent down to kiss her on the forehead, "Go on, or you’ll end up being late."

Yi Luowa left the house, looking back every few steps, and Tong Airui followed her out, calling, "Be careful, you’re not fully recovered yet. Don’t overexert yourself."

Yi Luowa nodded slightly, "Got it."

The car slowly rolled out of the courtyard. Kou’er noticed that Yi Luowa seemed downcast and asked cautiously, "Luowa, are you sick?"

Yi Luowa shook her head.

"But Fourth Master said you’re not fully recovered?"

Yi Luowa tilted her head to glance at her, "He said it, you listened to it. Don’t ask, and definitely don’t tell anyone else, understand?"

"Oh." Kou’er didn’t quite understand, but she followed orders nonetheless.

The day was a haze for Yi Luowa, and she finally made it to the end of class, tossing her backpack over her shoulders as she walked out the door.

She and Kou’er had just come downstairs when a familiar figure appeared. Yi Luowa froze, "Third Brother, why are you here?"

Mi Chenshuo pushed his sunglasses up with a smile, "Taking a stroll down memory lane. I knew your class was about to end, so I came to check on you."

Yi Luowa felt a pang of discomfort, "Third Brother..."

Mi Chenshuo chuckled, "What’s that expression? Are you unhappy to see me?"

Yi Luowa glanced at her phone and saw no missed calls. Smiling, she said, "Third Brother, let me accompany you to find a spot to sit. If you stand here, you’ll attract attention. Before everyone else comes out, you should make your escape first."

Mi Chenshuo laughed, "Alright, where shall we go?"

"How about grabbing coffee?" Yi Luowa tilted her face up as she spoke, a manner she strongly disliked but often had to use due to the height difference in the family. After a while, her neck always became sore.

"Do we need Fourth Brother’s permission?"

Yi Luowa rubbed her neck, "He’s busy today. I’m afraid calling him might disturb him. Let’s go, Third Brother."

Mi Chenshuo nodded with a smile and led Yi Luowa into his car.

Not long after the car began moving, Mi Chenshuo asked in a serious tone, "I heard from Fourth Brother that you saw Su Qing?"

"You two talked today?" Yi Luowa looked at him questioningly.

"Yeah, he’s blocked all of our numbers. Unless he unblocks them, we can’t call him. I had to negotiate."

Yi Luowa smirked, "We were together all day yesterday, and I didn’t even know he was up to this."

"He’ll only block us for a short period." Mi Chenshuo smiled faintly.

Yi Luowa replied, "Third Brother, I did see Su Qing the day before yesterday. She was chatting with a man on a bench in the small forest. From the sound of it, she seems to hold quite a grudge against you. She won’t even let the man mention you."

Mi Chenshuo sighed, "I know. Shao Gang shared it with me later."

"That man is really named Shao Gang?"

"Yes, he’s my classmate. He was a witness to my relationship with Su Qing."

Yi Luowa puffed out her cheeks, "Third Brother, Aunt was talking about you and Su Qing the other day—I overheard it. But I feel Su Qing wouldn’t hate you so much just because Aunt said a few harsh words."

"Why do you say that?" Mi Chenshuo turned his head slightly to look at her.

"Gut feeling! Aunt might have opposed you two being together, but she wouldn’t speak very harshly to Su Qing. However, there’s something Su Qing said partially that makes me feel there’s more to your falling out—something unresolved."

Mi Chenshuo paused, "What did she say?"

"She told Shao Gang, ’Thanks to you, I would have been silly enough to...’ and then the bell rang, cutting her off."

"’Thanks to you, I would have been silly enough to...’" Mi Chenshuo repeated, pulling his car onto a side road and stopping. "That part Shao Gang didn’t share with me. But given his relationship with me, he has no reason to harm me."

Yi Luowa pressed her lips together, "Third Brother, I’m not trying to stir things up, but sometimes, it’s the people closest to you who hurt you the most."

Mi Chenshuo froze in place.

Yi Luowa waved her hand in front of him, "Third Brother?"

Mi Chenshuo’s eyes shifted slightly, "Luowa, sorry, I have some matters to attend to. Let’s grab coffee another day."

Yi Luowa smiled and nodded, "Alright."

Yi Luowa opened the car door and got out. After a moment’s hesitation, she leaned on the car door and said to Mi Chenshuo, "Third Brother, sometimes you shouldn’t confront someone directly. Instead, investigate them from the side. Once you’re certain of their loyalty, then make your judgment."

"Thank you." Mi Chenshuo gave a relieved smile, "Fourth Brother marrying you was his good fortune."

Yi Luowa nodded earnestly, "Absolutely! Hehe... See you, Third Brother!"

"Bye."

Yi Luowa watched as Mi Chenshuo’s car drove off before she sighed and got into her own car. Over the past few days, she’d been preoccupied with her own happiness and had forgotten Su Qing’s final remark. Seeing Mi Chenshuo today reminded her. Deep down, Yi Luowa truly hoped Shao Gang wasn’t responsible for escalating the conflict. Otherwise, Mi Chenshuo would lose both love and friendship, which would hurt him even more.

Yi Luowa’s car had barely left when Tong Airui’s car approached head-on. Kou’er tugged on Yi Luowa’s hand, who was still zoning out, and shouted, "Luowa, it’s Fourth Master’s car!"

Yi Luowa glanced up, and her face brightened with a smile.

The driver parked, and Yi Luowa stepped out of her car.

Tong Airui opened his car door for her from inside, apologetically saying, "I’m late."

"You have your priorities; don’t bother picking me up in the future. With so many people around, I won’t have any accidents." Yi Luowa got into the car, saying, "Fourth Brother, Third Brother came by the school today."

"Another sentimental visit to the place he got his heart broken?"

"Yes. Seeing his listless appearance and forced smile made my heart ache. If there’s anything you can do to help him, then please do."

Tong Airui snorted, "Why should I bother? He’s the one who came up with the idea to pester you yesterday. Imagine, an elder brother leading the charge to bother his little sister-in-law!"

"Have you guys even divided ranks? To me, apart from your elder brother and sister, the rest treat you like their leader."

"Speaking of my sister... Wife, she’s coming back tomorrow." Tong Airui’s tone showed he wasn’t entirely pleased.

Yi Luowa laughed and held his hand, "I was just thinking about Duoduo."

"Look how happy you are! With her return, we’ll need to accompany her for a day or two—no chance to come back here then."

"We can come back here anytime. As for the factory... It doesn’t matter; I’ll stop by later and organize the work for the next couple of days."

Tong Airui glanced at her, "You seem energetic. Looks like you’re recovering well."

Yi Luowa didn’t notice his subtle expression and said cheerfully, "Yep, I’m perfectly fine now."

Tong Airui smiled slyly. ’Perfectly fine’ meant he could resume his "activities" that evening.

"I won’t come stay here anymore!" Her attitude had shifted significantly from the morning before. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Fourth Master replied with a grin, "Wherever you want to live is up to you—as long as I can follow."

Yi Luowa gave him a sideways look, climbing into the car on sore legs.

Tong Airui followed closely, shutting her door personally, "Be careful on the road."

Yi Luowa pouted and said nothing in response.

Fortunately, Yi Luowa was young and resilient. After a half day of classes, she finally managed to bounce back.

She hadn’t even returned home by noon when Tong Yao called to say Little Raindrop and her family had already arrived.

"Mom, I’m on my way; I’ll be home in ten minutes."

Tong Yao laughed, "Alright, we’ll wait for you to eat. You didn’t see—Duoduo started looking for you everywhere as soon as he stepped in, calling your name non-stop."

"I miss him too. Let my sister’s family stay with us for a few extra days this time," Yi Luowa said with a grin.

Tong Yao sighed helplessly, "I think that’ll be tough."

Yi Luowa comforted her briefly before ending the call.

As her car approached the courtyard, Yi Luowa spotted Little Raindrop holding Duoduo at the gate. Yi Luowa rolled down her window and called, "Sister, why are you standing here with Duoduo?"

"He heard you’d be back and couldn’t wait a minute longer; he started crying as soon as he came inside," Little Raindrop replied with a wry smile, walking closer.

Yi Luowa immediately parked, opened her door, and took Duoduo into her arms. Duoduo stared at her for a second before suddenly clinging tightly to her neck, "Yi Yi!"

"Haha! You still remember your little aunt!"

Little Raindrop climbed into the car, laughing, "I don’t know how he remembers things so well."

"Our Duoduo is smart!" Yi Luowa said, kissing his little cheek with a smile.

Duoduo giggled happily, holding her tight and refusing to let go.

Little Raindrop looked at Yi Luowa’s profile and blinked in surprise, "Luowa, why are your eyes swollen?"

Yi Luowa’s face turned bright red all the way to her ears. She’d been bullied hard last night and had cried about it; this morning, the swelling had gone down, so she didn’t think much of it—but she hadn’t counted on Little Raindrop’s sharp eyes catching it.

Seeing her bashful expression, Little Raindrop chuckled knowingly.

"Luowa, while you two weren’t staying at home, Dad had your room renovated."

Yi Luowa looked momentarily surprised, "Why did Dad renovate our room?"

"You’ll see when you get home," Little Raindrop answered with a mischievous smile.

"Sound—" Duoduo said seriously, as he grabbed Yi Luowa’s face.
