Chapter 486: A pretty pretty man

There was no way in hell that Nicole was going to be able to attend the Christmas party. She had wanted to, had originally planned to, but no one was going to let her go. Especially Elijah.

The man was her staunch supporter and defender. If he didn’t think something would be beneficial for her, he made sure it didn’t happen. Andrew knew that Nicole was just head over heels for the man as she face timed him while Andrew got ready for the party.

He was wearing another matching outfit with Maxwell, this time in a more dark shade and more Christmas themed. They were wearing suits that were in dark red and dark green with swapped colour accents. It was cute, and something that Maxwell had planned for months.

Nicole was in as nice of an outfit that the hospital would allow her to get away with given that she still had a lot of cuts, bruises and everything else all over her. Elijah had done her hair nicely, gotten her some of her jewelry to wear and she looked like she had something soft on. The man was beside her, putting some lipstick on her that made her already pretty features even prettier. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

He was not facing Andrew, his face in profile and Andrew could see the love and focus in his expression as he tended to her. Andrew had no worries about them.

"Oh Andy, you look so nice. Is Maxy almost done getting ready?" She asked and Andrew looked over his shoulder, listening to see if he could hear Maxwell. He could still hear the sliding of fabric from his closet.

"Not quite. Almost." Andrew told her and Nicole grinned. Then she chuckled.

"He’s going to be all over you tonight. I’m disappointed that I won’t be there to see it." She said, her bright eyes growing sad. Andrew snorted.

"Trust me, once this hell is over, you’re going to be sick and tired of all of us pestering you. I’m sure Elijah already is." Andrew said and watched as the other man nodded.

"They hound me for updates on you all the time." Elijah said, his voice deep and smooth. A slight contrast to the image he had, but not an unpleasant one. He had a nice voice, and Andrew had found out through a few pokes and prods that he liked to sing. He had a small, but dedicated following that liked to hear him sing.

Elijah was embarrassed about it since not many people knew, but Nicole was full of praises for her future husband. She was rambling about all the good things that she could think of. Andrew didn’t mind. He felt that part of this was a way she was coping with what had happened to her. She wasn’t focusing on the bad things that she had gone through and instead was focusing on the people around her and the goodness in them.

Andrew knew that this wouldn’t last for long. It couldn’t last for long. She had a lot that she needed to deal with, including charging her family for confinement and abuse. Andrew knew exactly what she was going through.

It was only this morning that the police had called him to set up a time to speak to him formally about his experience. For him to come in and talk to someone officially, not just speaking to the Officer Deacon in front of the mansion while everyone else was around them.

That, and the Beckett’s were all probably behind Andrew giving everyone harsh looks if they dared say something mean to him.

Andrew told them that it would have to be after the holidays. He could tell that they didn’t want to wait that long, but Andrew was adamant. He gave a statement to Officer Deacon, the official one could wait till later. Everything had been ’fine’ until now, and it could wait until the new year. The person that Andrew was speaking to eventually accepted what Andrew was saying, and Andrew scheduled it for the new year.

He put it in his phone, and forgot about it.

"You’ve done a great job getting Nicole ready, Elijah." Andrew praised the other man and watched as he looked a little embarrassed, but was also happy.

"Thank you. I want to make sure my woman looks good." He said, a little embarrassed. Nicole looked a little embarrassed but happy as well. She beamed at the screen and Andrew smiled in response. They were so cute that Andrew felt he had a toothache.

She deserved it after the hell she’d gone through. There was a reason that she was trying to run away from her family to marry this man. She knew what they would have asked of her. What they had tried to force her to do.

"Andy? Are you ready?" Maxwell called and Andrew turned and felt his breath catch. Maxwell standing in the doorway was so damn pretty that Andrew was at a loss for words. He had his hair already done perfectly, a little bit of sparkle in his suit that made him stand out more.

The red suit suited him so well, with the little pops of green here and there. He was adjusting his sleeves and he looked up at Andrew and caught him slack-jawed. He got a slightly cocky smile on his face as he saw how Andrew was looking at him. He smirked, then gave a little turn without prompting but Andrew was glad for it.

"You look..." Andrew trailed off, trying to pick up his tongue from the floor.

"Is that Maxy?" Nicole asked and Maxwell’s face went slack for a second, before a warm smile touched his face. He moved towards Andrew, taking his phone from him since Andrew was still in shock.

"Hi Nicole! Oh, you look stunning. Elijah, you’ve done a great job." Maxwell told them both and watched as they both glowed under his attention. Maxwell had that ability on people.

"You look stunning, Maxy. No wonder Andrew can’t even speak." Nicole was clearly teasing him but Andrew simply couldn’t find enough strength to speak when Maxwell was so close to him, being so handsome and pretty and also his fated pair.

It made Andrew giddy just thinking that they were meant for each other.

"I apologise. I have a hard time speaking around someone so beautiful." Nicole whistled through the phone while Andrew saw Maxwell’s ears turn pink. Andrew bent, pressing a gentle kiss against his throat. He knew damn well what he was doing was going to get Maxwell all hot and bothered. He grinned slowly as Maxwell shot him a dirty look.

"Andrew." He warned, his gaze sliding up and down Andrew’s body. Andrew was unrepentant.

"Maxy." Andrew said back and watched as Maxwell sniffed, inhaled slowly, and turned back to Nicole.

"Do you like our outfits? We’re matching." Maxwell said and Nicole properly ooed and awed over their outfits before Andrew had to be the bad guy and put a halt to the fun. They had to get going so that they were on time for the party.

Nicole looked sad to go, and Elijah looked disappointed that she was sad, but Andrew promised to have some food brought over, a plan already formulated by Luis and being put into motion since that was her families’ hospital.

No one was going to stop them, not even the police who were watching Nicole now.

Andrew hung up after saying goodbye over and over to her, and finally turned to the most handsome man he’d ever laid eyes on.

"I want to devour you." Andrew told Maxwell, and watched as the smaller man’s nostrils flared and his pupils dilated.

"Andrew Knox." Maxwell whispered. "We are about to attend a very important party that my parents host. I cannot be caught getting frisky in the back of the escort car, not intoxicated." Maxwell told him and Andrew grinned. He tucked his phone into his coat jacket before reaching for Maxwell. He tugged the other man closer, kissing him gently on the lips.

"You are so damn pretty that I don’t think I’d care that much. I would even sit and take the verbal strip down by all of the Moms present." Andrew said and Maxwell smiled against his lips.

"My Mom would be the worst for it." Maxwell said and Andrew just laughed in agreement. Luis would probably only be angry that they got caught. That, and that Maxwell wasn’t pregnant or marked.

"Mm. She might be. I think Jenny is a good close second." Andrew countered and Maxwell had to concede to that. Jenny was good at pestering others, and she would be upset if she caught them ruffled and late.

Andrew stepped away, squeezing Maxwell’s ass just once before slipping his hand into Maxwell’s. He smiled down at the other man, wanting to just squeeze him to death.

"I will be on my best behaviour. As long as the sweetest most handsomest man I’ve ever laid eyes on doesn’t crawl into my lap in the car, I should be on my best behaviour." Andrew promised. Maxwell let out a hearty laugh at hearing that, and shook his head.

"You are ridiculous. I cannot believe you." He said, his blue eyes sparkling before he sighed, shaking his head and then headed towards the doors to their bedroom. HIs phone went off and he pulled it out of his jacket pocket. "Our ride is here. We better hurry." Maxwell said and both men moved with purpose.

Andrew was dressed first and helped Maxwell get into his winter get-up without disturbing his hair. He’d given up on styling Andrew’s hair the exact same way, plus Andrew didn’t like to wear hats in the winter so he was fine. Hand in hand, the two headed out into the glittery snow night, able to see that a similar car was only a few houses down.

Andrew smiled, knowing that Jenny, Kim, and the kids were getting picked up at the same time.

Raising Maxwell’s hand, he kissed the back of it as he opened the door for him. Maxwell smiled, sliding inside of the car as Andrew made eye contact with the security team who nodded in turn.

They weren’t taking risks, even on such a special day.
