(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 494: Maxy, you have to warn a man
The night went without a single issue after that. Noah got driven home by a nice beta that the Becketts had selected. It helped that they were former mob and also a trained security officer for the Beckett’s, but Noah was at a state of inebriation that it didn’t matter.
The security guard actually seemed smitten with Noah in a way that wasn’t sexual at all. More like they just liked them and Andrew had a feeling that he would be seeing him with Noah a lot more often, especially if Thomas had his way.
He’d been watching over everyone like a damn mob boss since the conversation with Noah. He had probably been looking at everyone like that the whole night, but Andrew had only noticed it now. It was sweet, in a way.
Andrew had been watching everyone the same way, just with a little less of a heavy gaze.
Andrew didn’t find out about the mob connection for the security guard because Thomas told him. Maxwell only told Andrew about the mob connection because he was drunk. The man had been partying with the other omegas once Andrew had come back from speaking to Noah and Thomas alone, and his mingling with business associates was done.
A few of them stuck around but not in a predatory way, just because they wanted to join in on the fun. Maxwell had even convinced Aster to do a drop shot with him. How they had allowed drop shots was not something that Andrew was going to think about too hard, especially after Maxwell had licked his lips clean, smirked and Mr. Dalton, and then turned and ran to Andrew, nuzzling him.
He had wrapped his arms around Andrew, squeezing him, before he coyly moved back and revealed that he wasn’t wearing a collar, choker, nothing on his neck.
Andrew thought he was going to go fucking crazy as soon as the man showed off his bare neck. Andrew felt how his pheromones, which he had been so good at controlling all damn day, wavered. Maxwell, the damn demon, had smiled a slow, dangerous smile and pulled Andrew close.
"Your move, big boy." He’d whispered before he chuckled, patting his chest and spinning. He’d swung his hips like a damn siren as he headed back to the other omegas who had lined up another round of shots. Andrew felt a small twinge of worry for the bartenders but it was outweighed by the bomb that it felt like Maxwell had just dropped.
He hadn’t been wearing a collar this whole time? The whole time he’d been interacting with other alphas, he’d been without a collar? Andrew wasn’t that kind of a possessive man by his nature, and it wasn’t as if Maxwell hadn’t been wearing his engagement ring the whole time either, but...
Andrew felt something deep, dark and potentially messy well up inside of him. It took him several minutes to control himself. During that time, no one approached him, as if able to sense that something wasn’t quite right with Andrew.
He hated thinking about Maxwell being out and about with other alphas that he couldn’t trust. He trusted the Beckett’s, he trusted Maxwell, but he didn’t trust the alphas. Being female or male did not matter.
As soon as Andrew realised that, he realised that this trust issue was coming from what he’d just experienced. The hell he’d just come from. The Abraham family estate.
He was having issues trusting the people around them that were alphas and that he only knew in passing because of what he’d witnessed there. That, and he was becoming possessive of the man who had ripped the covers off of his eyes and told him, point blank, what they both actually meant to each other.
That was making Andrew feel crazy on the inside.
While Andrew was going through this revelation, he watched as Maxwell roped his Mom, May, Ford and Jenny into doing a shot with the group. Andrew watched everyone laughing, giggling, having a good time as he fought what felt like damn demons and not the kind that Maxwell was.
Only Kim was brave enough to come to his side.
"Andy, if you look at him like that he’s going to notice and come ask what’s wrong." Kim whispered and Andrew shuddered. He dropped his head, closed his eyes, and attempted to control himself. Kim placed her hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. "You’re doing great, you know." Kim told him, pride in her voice. "I truly am so proud of how you are handling everything." She told him and it was like balm on a wound he didn’t even realise was there.
Andrew shuddered a second time, but it was different. It didn’t feel painful, it felt more like he was shedding something.
"Max isn’t wearing a collar." Andrew blurted. He said it softly, but he couldn’t keep it inside of him. Someone else needed to know how dangerous the situation he was in was.
"Yeah? Sounds like he’s getting impatient." Kim said, a smile in her voice. When Andrew opened his eyes and looked at her, shocked, she smiled widely at him, giving his shoulder a squeeze. "What? Why do you look so shocked? The man has been practically begging you to mark him since his first heat, Andy. I’m not blind, I could tell. I think you’re the last to know." She teased and Andrew grumbled.
"He’s in danger like this." Andrew protested, before his brows furrowed. "He never wore a collar before this either." Andrew muttered, annoyed, and Kim laughed.
"Andy, my sweet, sweet nephew. You are so aware and yet so dumb sometimes. It’s a cute trait I think you inherited from your Mom. She was blind when it came to matters of love as well." Kim said, smirking. "He’s not in danger because he knows you’re around. You’ve been taking care of everyone tonight. There is no way not a single soul knows who he belongs to in this room, and vice versa. Maxy has been flashing that giant rock you got him like it’s his next business proposal." She said with a laugh and that soothed Andrew slightly.
"He has?" Andrew asked and Kim laughed.
"Andy, you really don’t need to worry about him. Everyone is out to make sure he is safe, and they aren’t going to mess with the giant true alpha that is wrapped around Maxwell Beckett’s finger. Especially when they saw you handle your father last year, and this year you took down the family right before this event." Kim said, smiling and Andrew flushed.
"Is that what people think of me?" He asked and Kim smiled.
"Well, I might be exaggerating slightly, but only slightly. They are terrified of you because you are so unassuming when they meet you, even at your height, and then they hear about these other things that you have done and it’s hard for them to put two and two together." Kim said, smiling. Andrew let out a soft sigh.
"I am probably not helping that image right now either." Andrew muttered and Kim gave a soft laugh.
"Well, staring at Maxy like you’re going to devour him isn’t going to scare them away that much. It’s the pheromones that might do that." She said, waving a hand in front of her nose like she was smelling something stinky. Andrew felt his face warm. He covered his face with his hand, sighing as Kim continued to laugh at him.
"How can you say you are proud of me when I’m barely keeping myself together?" Andrew asked.
"Because you are able to keep yourself together in the end. You didn’t rush over, you haven’t kidnapped Maxy and held him hostage in your house like some common brute. You’ve been able to leave the house, you’ve been kind. You’ve remained yourself through all of this Andrew. How could I not be proud?" Kim was beaming at Andrew when he looked over at her and Andrew felt something just...calm after hearing that.
"I feel like I’m going crazy." Andrew admitted and Kim’s smile was in her eyes as she pulled him close, giving him a full body squeeze.
"It does not get better. Your partner is only going to make you feel more crazy as time goes on. It’s never a dull moment with my lovely, wonderful wife at my side." Kim bragged, love in every inch of her words. Andrew glanced at where Jenny and Maxwell were. They were both giggling to each other, cheeks flushed, and Andrew had a feeling that Kim was going to be in for a treat tonight as well.
Andrew felt his lips twitch.
"I’m so excited to marry him." Andrew admitted, and Kim beamed at him.
"And I’m happy you found someone you want to marry. Now, stop moping that he’s teasing you and go be by his side. It’s almost Christmas! A time for family and friends! Your wedding is only a few months away and Maxy wants you. Forget about the bad things and focus on the good things coming your way." Kim told him, giving him a shove from behind. Andrew stumbled forward, looking back at her to find her smiling. She waved, giving him another shove and Andrew just shook his head with a smile.
He headed over to the group, getting a cheer as they all saw him approaching. Maxwell alone was watching him with the gaze of a starving predator. Andrew had a feeling that tonight was going to be dangerous for him.
Maxwell looked like he was going to lick him from head to toe.
