(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 558: A well-earned debrief
Andrew had never been on a private jet before. It was a first time experience for him, and Maxwell was happy to show him the ropes.
So happy that he led the man to the bathroom, all big blue eyes and soft, kissable lips and before Andrew knew it, he was wrapped around his finger. He was giving in to the man’s depends and sliding his butt plug out and fucking him in the bathroom stall.
It was tight, cramped, and they had to be quiet. Maxwell loved it, while Andrew was glad that they didn’t have to do it again. One and done was enough for him, as long as Maxwell enjoyed it.
The flight after that was calm. Easy. Andrew and Maxwell were able to curl up with each other and sleep most of the flight away. The security team was with them and kept in contact with the Beckett family to let them know that they were on the move and safe.
Andrew was barely aware of the fact that they were being monitored. He’d gotten semi used to it having been by Maxwell’s side for as long as he had, and also for the fact that he’d been in danger most of the time he’d been by Maxwell’s side.
When they landed, no one was there to retrieve them from the airport. Andrew was a little surprised by that, but didn’t take it to heart. They were all busy, and all had their own lives. Plus, it was probably dangerous for them to come to the airport. Andrew had that feeling confirmed when Maxwell and Andrew were treated particularly well after they had come home from abroad.
Not a single soul made a mention of what Maxwell was wearing, but Andrew could tell that the security team noticed, and flushed. Andrew did his best to not get angry at that.
As soon as they hit the air of their hometown, Andrew felt more like himself. He let out a soft breath, holding Maxwell’s hand as the two stepped into the car waiting for them. The security team was busy putting their carry-ons into the trunk of the car. It was a little strange that Andrew had gone from never having known a life like this to completely accepting it in only a few years, but here he was.
"It’s good to be home." Andrew told him after he’d closed the door behind him. Maxwell was busy strapping himself into his seat but when he looked at Andrew, he had a sparkle in his eye.
"I know what you’re actually excited about." Maxwell teased, a knowing smirk on his lips. Andrew felt his face flush as Maxwell chuckled, shaking his head and squeezing Andrew’s hand. "I’m worried about the stacks of work that are going to be waiting for me tomorrow." Maxwell muttered, the smile fading from his eyes.
Andrew pulled him close, resting his head against his shoulder.
"That’s for tomorrow’s Maxwell. Today, you’re still on your honeymoon with your new husband. Rest. I’ll drive you into work tomorrow. That way I can distract the secretary team and you can sneak in." Andrew said with a grin. Maxwell chuckled.
"You say that as if they aren’t also going to want to see my new ring." Maxwell accused. Andrew chuckled.
"They’ll get to see your new ring all the time because I fully expect you to show it off to everyone you meet, alpha, beta, omega. I don’t care. They need to know that Mr. Maxwell Beckett is off the market and belongs to one Andrew Beckett." Andrew felt a little shiver of pleasure run down his spine when he said that. It was always nice to hear what he was to Maxwell now, but when Maxwell turned his gaze upwards, his eyes on fire from within?
There was nothing better than that.
"Possessive." Maxwell murmured. "God, that’s so hot when it comes from you." Maxwell admitted and Andrew pulled the man closer.
"Good. I’m glad you like it." Andrew told him, a little nervous that Maxwell would have reacted negatively even after Maxwell had shown no signs of the sort. Maxwell let out a sigh.
"Now just to make sure that everyone knows that you belong to me." He murmured. Andrew grinned.
"No worries on that point. I’m happy to brag about you to chase away any flies. I’ve been doing it for years at this point, I’m not going to stop bragging about you. Especially now that you aren’t just my boyfriend, or my fiancé. Now you’re my husband. They’re worries are going to have to be how they are going to get me to stop talking about my husband." Andrew told him confidently, watching as Maxwell’s ears turned pink. The cutie.
"A-Alright then."
~
Walking into the home that they had been away from for basically a month was a little strange. It wasn’t dirty since Maxwell had made sure cleaners had come by to make sure that dust didn’t build up, but it did feel eerily still.
The lights were off, the air was quiet, and the sounds of the wheels of their luggage was loud on the floor. They hadn’t stopped by Kim and Jenny’s place, but had honked as they passed. They wanted to let them know that they were home safe and sound at the very least.
Maxwell closed the door behind them, locking it after waving goodnight to the security team. It was just them, and it should have been surprising how easily they fell into domestic tasks.
Andrew got the laundry started, Maxwell stripping the bed to put fresh sheets on, both men working in quiet unison.
They were only in the home for about half an hour before the texts and phone calls came in. Kim, May, Luis, Amir. All of them were calling and texting them, while Andrew’s phone was getting blown up with friends also checking in on him. Noah and Nicole were a little more reserved, sending welcome home messages that were sweet but short.
Maxwell took some time going through his texts before he did any call backs. When he did, he made sure that Andrew was within earshot and that the phone was on speaker. That was how Andrew and Maxwell got a download on what they had missed while on their honeymoon.
Amir’s pregnancy had been confirmed. He was 8 weeks along, hadn’t even noticed he was pregnant. Turns out that they hadn’t been trying for another kid so soon, but one little accident and Amir was pregnant again. Amir had sounded a little shocked saying it out loud, and the words that spilled out of him after clarified why.
They’d had to try using fertility treatments for Mehar since Amir’s body had been so fucked up from his own emotions and the miscarriage. He didn’t think he’d get pregnant from one slip up, yet here he was. Everyone was excited for him, and also scared.
Who wouldn’t be? They had closed ranks on him when he’d gotten pregnant the second time, Andrew could only imagine how they would close ranks on the third time. Andrew glanced at Maxwell during this conversation, staring at the man.
He wondered how the rest of the family would react when Maxwell turned up pregnant as well? Would they be excited? Happy for them? Andrew was a little worried about it now, but he’d spoken to Ben about it. If Ben was supportive, he shouldn’t worry too much about it.
He knew he’d have support from everyone else even if the Beckett’s focused on Amir. He also wouldn’t let them hurt Maxwell. He wouldn’t let anyone hurt Maxwell.
Andrew wanted to shake himself after he’d had the thought. It was Maxwell’s own family, Andrew. They would never hurt him like that, especially since he was the precious only omega of the family. His pregnancy would be a blessing to the family, Andrew was just getting worried about the worse case scenario.
Outside of Amir’s confirmed pregnancy, Andrew and Maxwell found out that Ellis had been admitted to the hospital. It wasn’t quite time for the baby, they were early, but the baby had decided that they were thinking about it. With the plug being as precarious as it was, the fact that Ellis had carried for as long as he had was good. The baby, if it was born soon, wouldn’t be in danger.
Hearing that was a relief to Andrew and Maxwell alike. They were glad that the baby would be safe and that the hospital would be able to take over once it happened. It was only a matter of when at this point, not if the baby was coming.
Of course, Richard was beside himself with worry. He was with Ellis every second of the day. Luis and Amir had joked that Ellis was ready to strangle the man since he was fussing over Ellis more than he was fussing over the baby.
Andrew thought it was sweet though, and he could tell that everyone else felt the same way. Andrew knew that all of the partners were like that in their relationships. The one who carried the baby always was at more risk.
Andrew bet that if they had more kids, Richard would insist on carrying them next time, like Rose had insisted. Like brother, like sister. If Andrew had the option, he would do the same thing.
Maxwell’s father confirmed that Richard’s paternal leave had been moved up, but everyone had anticipated that. As soon as they got news that Ellis’ pregnancy was dangerous, they had all been bracing for it. Thomas even complimented Dr. Piper and Dr. Cox for their efficient transfer of duties and how competent the two ladies were. Andrew knew that he had to tell the girls about that when he dropped Maxwell off the next day at work.
Luis had already been chatting to the photographer and gotten some sample photos from the wedding, and then she had scolded Maxwell for not giving Andrew his stack of photos that he was supposed to receive before the wedding.
Andrew had blinked, a little surprised, as he watched Maxwell turn pink past his cheeks.
"He doesn’t need to see them." Maxwell had muttered. "He’s got enough as it is." Andrew had no idea what that meant, but Luis had let out a scandalised laugh.
"Max! We went through all the hard work to get you dressed up! The man at least deserves it. I know you, Maxwell, you aren’t going to dress up like that again." Andrew wondered what they were talking about, and how Maxwell had dressed up.
From the blush that was touching Maxwell’s cheeks and sneaking down the back of his neck, it was something rather serious.
"...I’ll show him when we get the wedding photos." Maxwell finally relented and Andrew grew even more curious. When Maxwell’s gaze met Andrew’s, he tugged the man down. "You’ll need it for when it’s too dangerous for us to have sex." He whispered, his face flaming.
Andrew’s mouth was hung open for a little too long after that.
