ASH’S POV

Out of the corner of my eye, while Adrian’s lips brushed mine, I caught sight of Celeste standing at the window, watching. My heart jolted. I pulled away quickly and forced a grin.

"Brother," I said, trying to sound playful, "is this really how you kiss your wife? It’s so lame. My Lucien does it better. If you want class, I’ll be delighted to teach you."

I winked, pretending confidence I didn’t feel. Adrian stared at me, stunned and confused. Before he could say anything, I added, "My fiance must be worried about me. I shouldn’t keep him waiting. Let’s go."

I turned and walked ahead, stealing a glance toward the window, Celeste was gone.

Mid-step, a thought hit me. what was she doing here? Was she following Adrian? Maybe her insecurities were eating at her again. But if she came to see Naomi...why? They weren’t even close.

I can’t let her near my friend.

I turned to Adrian. "Would you mind assigning guards to watch over Naomi?"

He frowned. "Why?"

I hesitated, then said, "Maybe the driver who hit her didn’t do it by accident. If it was planned, they might come back since she’s still alive."

Adrian’s eyes darkened with thought. "You might be right. I’ll have guards posted immediately."

As we walked through the quiet hospital corridor, I felt a faint sense of being followed. Adrian looked at me as if he wanted to ask about my sudden outburst earlier, but I muttered, "Not in the mood to talk."

He nodded silently.

When we reached the waiting room, Bravin, Martin, and Clara were already there waiting for us.

Adrian glanced at me. "Let’s take them to their new apartment, then we can..."

I didn’t let him finish. "There’s no need," I cut in. "Just send me the address. I’ll take them by taxi."

I gave him a small smile, patting his shoulder. "Thank you, brother. And greet your wife for me."

Turning to Martin and Clara, I said, "What are you waiting for? Let’s go."

They stood quickly, picking up the suitcase and bag, and followed me toward the exit.

From behind, I could feel Adrian’s gaze-surprised, maybe even a little puzzled by how I was acting.

One hour later, we reached the apartment whose address Adrian had sent me. As we stepped out of the taxi, Clara’s eyes widened in awe, her face lighting up with tears of joy.

"Are we really going to live here?" she asked, her voice trembling.

I smiled softly. "Yes. This place is fully yours, under your brother’s name."

Overwhelmed, Clara threw her arms around me. "Thank you!" she said, her voice breaking with emotion. Martin stood beside us, silent, his eyes reflecting an unspoken gratitude.

After a while, I gently pulled back. "That’s enough. Let’s go in."

Inside, the apartment didn’t surprise me much, but for Martin and Clara, it was a wonder. They wandered around, touching things, gasping like children discovering a new world. I collapsed onto the couch, exhausted after the long day.

My stomach growled, a harsh reminder that I hadn’t eaten anything since morning. I reached for my phone to order food, but before I could, a message from Lucien popped up, filled with laughing emojis.

Why are you so happy? I texted back.

He replied almost instantly: Adrian’s complaining that you told him his kiss was lame, that I’m better than him. Now he’s terrified.

I couldn’t help but laugh. Was Adrian really taking that small comment seriously?

Then another message came. He said you escorted your friends to their new apartment. Should I come pick you up?

I glanced at the time before replying, It’s already late. I’ll spend the night here and come tomorrow.

Soon after, my order arrived-hot spaghetti seasoned with rich sauce and a hint of garlic. I invited Martin and Clara to join me, but Clara shook her head. "I’m still full from the meal Alpha Bravin took us for earlier," she said.

Martin tried to refuse, but I insisted. "Come on, eating alone is boring. I need company."

He finally agreed, but after a few bites, the taste of garlic hit me hard, a sudden wave of nausea rising up. I rushed to the washroom and threw up.

When I came back, Martin looked worried. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"I’m fine," I said with a forced smile.

Clara chuckled lightly. "That sudden outburst, someone might think you’re pregnant."

Her words froze the room. My eyes met hers, wide and uncertain.

Martin shot her a sharp look. "Don’t say such nonsense to your senior."

I sighed softly. "No, she’s right," I said quietly. "I’m pregnant.

Both of them stared at me, stunned. I tried to lighten the air, turning to Clara with a teasing smile. "So you should expect two juniors now."

Clara smiled back, her eyes still soft. "I can’t wait."

Later, she went to rest in her new bedroom while Martin and I shared the other room. I could feel his curiosity, his silence was full of questions he didn’t know how to ask. And maybe, for once, I wanted to speak. I wanted to let it out, to release the heaviness that had been sitting inside me for too long to my friend.

I told Martin everything-about Lucien, about his pregnancy.

He stared at me in shock. "Do you mean...he’s pregnant for both you and Alpha Adrian?"

I nodded quietly. I didn’t go into details; I just said softly, "I’ll tell you more in time." He gave a small nod, respecting my silence.

I decided to stay with them for a few days, just to catch my breath away from Lucien and Adrian. Though neither of them liked the idea, they eventually agreed.

A few days later, the national high school exam results were released. Martin and I sat in the living room, nervous and sweating, the laptop glowing in front of us. Clara sat beside us, equally tense.

Martin went first. He took a deep breath, typed in his index number, and pressed enter. His score appeared- B+, admitted to Tanyi Provincial University, to study law.

Clara screamed with joy and threw her arms around him. "You did it, brother!"

I smiled, joining in their excitement, hugging them both. Then they looked at me, waiting. It was my turn.

I sat down, my palms sweating, and typed in my index number. The screen loaded for what felt like forever, then flashed the results:

Ash Veiyln-Mean Grade: A

Admitted to: Stargh National University-Course: Medicine

For a moment, I couldn’t breathe. My eyes stayed fixed on the screen, stunned. Martin and Clara shouted in excitement and jumped to hug me. On the TV nearby, my name appeared among the top candidates nationwide, my photo displayed beside it.

My phone started ringing nonstop, everyone calling to congratulate me. But what snapped me out of my daze was one call, from my mother.

I picked up quickly. "Mother..." I whispered.

There was a short silence, then her emotional voice came through, "Congratulations, son. I’m really proud of you."

Tears rolled down my cheeks. "Mother...where are you? I’ve missed you."

"I miss you too," she said softly. "I’ll back soon." Then she gave a small laugh. "Right now, I’m sure your mates can’t wait to throw you a party."

My heart stopped for a second. Mates. Did she really acknowledge Lucien and Adrian as my mates?

Before I could ask, she added gently, "Take care. Love you. Bye." and hung up.

Then Martin’s phone rang. He answered quickly, his voice bright. "I’m on my way."

He turned to me, smiling. "The doctor just called, Naomi has woken up."

Excitement filled the room. Then it hit me, we hadn’t checked her results yet. I grabbed the laptop and quickly entered her index number. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Her results appeared: B+, admitted to Tanyi Provincial University, same as Martin, but to study Architectural Engineering.

Martin laughed, shaking his head. "Indeed, she’s a wonder, a female Alpha through and through. I knew she could do it."

Clara clapped her hands happily. "I’m so happy for my senior! She’s my role model."

Their joy was contagious, and I felt my heart warm. Then a thought struck me, before Adrian and Lucien arrived and turned this day into chaos with their loud celebrations, why not go see Naomi first and share the good news with her ourselves?

I quickly put on a mask and pulled up my hood to hide my face. With all the news coverage, it was safer that way.

When we reached the hospital, Naomi had already been moved from the ICU to a ward. We rushed in, breathless from excitement. I pulled off my mask and pushed back my hood.

Martin hurried to her bedside and leaned down to hug her gently. "I’m so happy you’re awake after ten days in a coma," he said softly.

Naomi blinked, dazed. Clara stepped forward, smiling through tears. "Senior, I’m glad you woke up."

But Naomi only stared at us, her eyes distant and confused. I moved closer, gently took her hand, and kissed it.

"Don’t look at us like that," I said quietly. "Say something...we’ve missed your voice."

She looked at each of us slowly, her lips trembling.

Then, in a soft, uncertain voice, she asked, "Who are you?"
