’Why did I agree to meet her again? This is such a waste of time...’

Liam told himself as he stood straight and dusted off his clothes once more. Any second now, Baron Conner and his daughter would arrive. Liam just needed to spend a little time with her and then send her back... possibly.

The carriage arrived in no time, and he took a deep breath before the Baron exited first.

"Liam, I am so happy to see you here. Let me introduce you to my daughter. She is Elysia Conner."

The lady that got off the carriage was beyond beautiful. She had green hair and orange eyes, and her whole body exuded a peaceful air. Just looking at her made Liam’s breath falter and his heart beat faster.

’I-Is this love at first sight?’

He asked himself as he clutched his heart.

"Elysia, are you not going to greet Sir Liam? He is going to be your future husband."

Baron Conner told his daughter, and she leveled her cold eyes toward him without missing a beat.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sir Liam."

Elysia’s voice was as cold as her eyes were. It was clear that she was not interested in being here, and her voice made Liam flinch.

He extended his hand toward her, but it felt a little sweaty. Even his brow and the back of his neck felt sweaty...

’Just what is this feeling I am currently feeling...?’

"The pleasure is all mine, my lady."

He replied back, but he was barely able to move under her scrutinizing eyes.

"Ah, it seems like you both make a good match. Just look at the picture you make, standing together. I wish I could commission a photo of this moment."

The Baron... was being a little too much at the moment. It was as if he was forcing Liam to accept his daughter at all costs.

Liam felt a little pressured, and he wanted to get away from the overbearing man. So he proposed a solution to Lady Elysia.

"Miss, would you like to head to the garden with me?"

He asked, and Lady Elysia nodded with a disinterested look on her face. They finally reached the garden, and Liam felt like he could breathe again.

Both Liam and his partner sat at the table, and he decided to start a conversation with the lady beside him.

"Excuse me, Miss Elysia-"

He called out, only to notice that Lady Elysia’s attention had shifted in another direction. She was looking at Shuu without blinking...

Rather, she was looking at the kids Shuu had brought with him with a blank look on her face.

Before he could stop her, the lady had stood up and walked toward Shuu and the kids without wasting even a single second. Her eagerness made Liam flinch, and he tried to stop her.

"Miss, wait a moment-!"

Something in Liam warned him to stop this collision before it could happen. His senses told him that he needed to make sure Lady Elysia did not meet Shuu.

But it was clearly too late, and they were both standing in front of each other.

"Can I... help you with anything?"

Shuu asked the female in front of him, but she did not speak a word to him. Her eyes continued to look at Caelis, and she reached for him carefully.

But Caelis was not ready to be touched by her and dragged himself and Rin behind Shuu’s legs.

Seeing this, Shuu immediately positioned himself between the kids and the green-haired lady in front of him.

"Excuse me, miss, but you need to back off. These kids do not want to be touched by you-"

"You might be mistaken. I am a devotee of God, and these kids are my reward. That is what I was told in the revelation."

She pointed toward the kids hiding behind Shuu’s legs, and Shuu tensed. Liam also heard her, but he pretended he had misheard her.

"You want kids? Isn’t it a little too early to be talking about them-"

"Who wants your kids? What I want are these kids... especially the one with black hair and golden eyes. As long as you agree to give them to me, I will marry you this second."

There was a tense silence as soon as Lady Elysia admitted this. Her clear eyes told Liam that she was not going to back down.

Something about her eyes made Shuu tense up, and he instantly felt like Lady Elysia was bad news.

"I... am heading back to my room now. I think the kids have had enough today."

Shuu spoke equally softly, not wanting to deal with this situation anymore.

"Where are you going-"

Lady Elysia reached past him and toward Caelis. But the kid ran back, causing Lady Elysia to almost crash into Shuu’s legs. She held herself back at the last second.

Things were turning into a disaster, and Liam immediately felt like he had to act.

Sigh

"I think Lady Elysia is a little sick today. I will take her back outside and escort her home."

Liam placed his hand on Lady Elysia’s shoulder and finally exerted some force to drag her away. He could feel the bone under his hand with how much pressure he was putting in.

But even then, it was almost impossible to move Lady Elysia.

Thankfully, Shuu quickly left with the kids, and Lady Elysia had her detached expression back.

"Lord Liam, I-"

"I don’t think this is going to work out between us, Lady Elysia. It is time for you to return home now."
