Black Online-Chapter 134: Closing Sequence
[Closing Sequence Activated!]
’What’ll this do, I wonder...’
Fang Raon thought.
"Haaah... Haaaah!"
Rickard spread his arms wide, and he unleashed his powerful aura that knocked all the birds out of the sky.
It was heavy, oppressive, and crushing!
"This is one of my Innate Skills. Domination. I can make weaker opponents die with my mere presence."
Rickard said with a menacing grin.
’Ah?’
Fang Raon took a glance at his health, and an ugly expression flashed across his face as he noticed the situation.
[HP: 35/700]
He already didn’t have much because of the health he lost because of the cold and after losing his arm.
However, the Innate Skill "Domination" took an even bigger slice off his health.
"I thought you didn’t plan to kill me..."
"...That’s where my second Innate Skill comes in handy. My second Innate Skill—A Choice—when your health drops to zero, I can choose whether I want you dead or unconscious.
"I’ll just choose unconscious, recover some of your health with a health potion, and take you back to the camp."
Rickard said with a smirk.
’Those are indeed some quite powerful Innate Skills to have. Why isn’t the Closing Sequence doing anything?’
Fang Raon gripped the sword hard and pointed it at Rickard.
He wasn’t left-handed, so he was already gravely handicapped, and it was obvious that was Rickard’s plan.
When he ambushed him, he could’ve cut his left hand, but from their previous fights, Rickard knew that he was right-handed.
Thus, he aimed at his dominant hand and severed it from his body, which worked very well in Rickard’s favor.
"Got no choice..."
Fang Raon whispered under his breath, his voice barely audible as he watched the snow fall to the ground.
He changed the grip on the sword.
In just a split second, he whispered "Sword Stab," and extended his arm into a quick thrusting attack.
With almost boredom, Rickard parried the stab with apathy.
"Pathetic."
Rickard lifted his sword and brought it down, as if his sword were an axe and Fang Raon were a wooden log.
"Dodge Roll!"
In the last moment, he rolled out of the way and tried swinging the sword at Rickard’s leg, but he only lifted it in time to feel the sharp blade graze against his boot.
Close!
"Throwing Sword!"
Fang Raon hurled the sword at him, and Rickard swung the shield into the flying sword and deflected it away.
"Return!"
Fang Raon ordered.
The sword twitched and started flying back at him, but in that moment, Rickard grabbed the sword before it could reach Fang Raon.
"Argh!"
Fang Raon gritted his teeth.
"I’ll be taking this."
Rickard smirked and was about to put it inside his inventory, but then, out of nowhere, Fang Raon started flying at him!
When the sword couldn’t return back to its owner, it would do the opposite. The owner would fly towards the sword instead.
Smack!
Fang Raon’s fist connected with Rickard’s face, and the sword slipped out of his hand.
With a quick catch, Fang Raon grabbed the sword and thrust it towards Rickard, who looked to be stunned.
Squeeze!
At that moment, Rickard reached out his hand, grabbed Fang Raon’s wrist, and stopped the sword, which was inches away from penetrating his chest.
"Ouch... You bastard..."
Rickard growled.
His nose was slightly bleeding, and his eyes burned with anger.
"Argh!"
Fang Raon tried pushing the sword into his body, but he couldn’t make it budge.
Rickard yanked his arm away and drove his knee into his chest and then swung his fist at Fang Raon’s face with all his might.
Thwack!
Fang Raon’s head smashed into the ground, and he stopped moving.
"...About time."
Rickard scoffed, grabbed Fang Raon’s leg, and started dragging him away.
In that moment.
Fang Raon’s eyes fluttered open, and with his hazy vision, he could see a flickering notification in front of him.
[Closing Sequence Activated...]
’Closing... Sequence... Closing... Sequence...’
While thinking about those words, Fang Raon dawned with a realization.
’...This situation is... more favorable to me...? Why...’
In that moment, he saw Rickard walk down the narrow path. It was quite narrow, and he was rather close to the edge.
’...I see...’
Fang Raon smiled, and at that moment, he kicked Rickard on the back, which made him stumble over the edge.
"What the—"
Rickard turned around and tried to catch himself, but Fang Raon pushed his hands against his chest and gave him the last push.
"You fuck—"
Rickard dropped off the edge, smashed into the snowy ground below, and kept falling, but he eventually caught himself on a narrow rocky ledge.
"Aargh... I AM FUCKING GOING TO KILL YOU!"
The scream resounded throughout the mountain, and the mountain crumbled with the snow starting to slowly move.
"Oof... You shouldn’t scream around the mountain... It can be dangerous... Because of the avalanches, you know."
Fang Raon wryly smiled.
In that below, under his feet, the snow started to crack, and collapse, and then it started to slowly move.
While climbing back up, Rickard heard the sound of rumbling, and when he looked up, his eyes widened in shock.
The avalanche swept him away, and the last of Rickard’s screams faded away into the distance as the snow took him away.
"Huff... Huff..."
Fang Raon closed his eyes, tried catching his breath, and let out a quiet laugh.
’...Closing Sequence gives me an opportunity to turn around the tables in the fight... It won’t always work... And it’s very much up to the player whether they can find the strategy to pull it off.’
He smiled, brushed the snow off his hair, and looked down at the mountain with a gulp.
’...Right, I have to climb back down.’
...
In the quarry, the fire flickered quietly, and Della was looking at her fingers, slowly moving them.
She was slowly recovering and, soon enough, would be able to move again.
It had been slightly over hour since Fang Raon left, and she didn’t know whether he was already dead or not.

Step~ Step~ Step~
The sound of the footsteps came, and Della’s eyes panicked, and she wished that she could blow out the campfire.
She watched as a young man emerged from the darkness, his face illuminated by the flickering light of the fire.
"...Raon!"
Della beamed up with a smile.
"How are you feeling?"
Fang Raon asked with a smile and sat down beside her, and Della showed her, moving her fingers.
"I can move soon... Then we can get out of there... Have you seen Rickard anywhere?"
Della asked.
"...He has been dealt with."
Fang Raon said with a wry smile.
Her eyes quivered in shock, and she wanted to ask, ’How?’ but in that moment, she received a notification.
[You are no longer poisoned!]
