Chapter 137: Extreme Reaction

Humm~ Humm~ Humm~

"...Hah."

Fang Raon opened his ears, and was welcomed with the sight of the Virtual Reality Pod’s glass door.

The machine was humming softly. Almost like a purring cat. And then he pressed a shut-off button.

It made a soft beep, and the hum slowly faded away.

Swiish~

The glass door opened up, and Fang Raon climbed out while still feeling the effects of the cold in his body.

The tips of his fingers were quite numb. His cheeks were flushed. And he could barely feel his toes.

’I’d definitely like a warm bath right about now.’

He thought to himself.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

In that moment, he heard rapid pressing of his doorbell. It was his doorbell. The sound echoing through the apartment.

He had sometimes mixed neighbors’ doorbells for his, as there wasn’t any noise-canceling in these walls, so it would be easy to make that kind of mistake.

However.

This doorbell was obviously his, and it sounded like someone was desperate to get in.

’Who could it be?’

Fang Raon turned to the table, saw that his phone was flashing, and checked it out.

"What in the world..."

There were close to a hundred phone calls from Chaewon. And even more text messages. The phone even felt warm to the touch.

’...Could it be?’

He walked to the door, looked through the peephole, and then immediately opened the door.

"Chaewon, what are yo—"

Without further ado, Chaewon entered the apartment, and hugged him tightly, almost crushing his back in process.

"You didn’t answer my calls."

Chaewon looked him in the eyes.

There was something unsettling in those eyes. Like they were the eyes of a predator. She also looked quite unhappy.

"I happened to be... In the middle of something... How long were you outside my door?"

Fang Raon asked.

He could tell that Chaewon was shaking. It made him feel bad. But also, he thought that this kind of reaction on her part was quite extreme.

"...A while. Why didn’t you answer my calls?"

Chaewon asked.

"I couldn’t log off from the game. I had some stuff there. Something I couldn’t leave behind."

Fang Raon said, and then his expression turned quite displeased, and he grabbed her shoulders firmly.

Chaewon looked surprised. She shrank in her arms. And saw him look quite unhappy about something.

"This place is not safe for you. The people on this floor can be very dangerous. I don’t want you to come down here again."

Fang Raon said firmly.

He knew very well that Chaewon was very attractive, and wherever she went, she would garner a lot of attention.

Not to mention in here.

"That’s why I had to come. This place is dangerous. I thought something happened to you since you promised to answer my calls, and yet you didn’t."

Chaewon said.

In the corners of her eyes, there were teardrops that threatened to fall.

’I’ll need to move out of this place as soon as possible.’

Fang Raon thought, and then he walked Chaewon to the bed, and they sat next to each other. The bed creaked under their weight as they both sat in silence.

"...What made you so busy?"

Chaewon asked curiously.

Then, Fang Raon started explaining what happened today. About guild war. And especially what happened in the last two hours.

He left some details out. Especially regarding the stuff with Della. Which made him still feel quite complicated.

"Wow... I had no idea that there was so much going on... It’s over now though, right?"

Chaewon asked.

She thought that while from an outside perspective, Fang Raon’s life might seem quite boring as he played games all day.

However.

Inside the game, his life was extremely hectic and exciting. So much things happened in just a span of one day.

That single day was easily more exciting than Chaewon’s entire life had been.

’My Virtual Reality Pod will arrive tomorrow...’

She thought to herself.

When she was lying in the bed last night, she thought about Fang Raon, and whether she should tell him that she bought the Virtual Reality Pod.

In the end, she decided not to, because she’d prefer to surprise Fang Raon.

"It’s over, yeah. During the war, it is required to stay online for longer durations of time. Even sleep there. Luckily, with that over, I don’t have to do such a thing."

Fang Raon said.

"You’ll answer my calls from now on, yeah?"

Chaewon asked.

"Haha, I’ll try, but if I happen not to, please don’t come rushing over here, I beg of you."

Fang Raon said with a wry smile. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"...Okay~"

Chaewon stood up, checked the time on her phone, and saw that her mother was messaging her.

She was wondering where she headed off to because she left in quite a hurry, and it made her mother worry.

"I’ll need to head back..."

Chaewon said with a pout.

"I’ll walk you to the elevator."

Fang Raon stood up and grabbed his jacket, and Chaewon smiled, as she knew that he was just worrying.

They left the apartment, walked a small distance to the elevator, and bid their farewell over there.

While the elevator doors slowly closed, Chaewon waved with a smile on her lips, and Fang Raon waved back.

’I can’t go to sleep just yet. I have something I must do...’

Fang Raon headed back to the apartment, locked the door, and sat down in front of his computer screen.

He went to the Lagless website, logged into his account, and then went to search for an application that allowed him to edit videos.

He found one, which cost money, and with a bleeding heart, he paid for it because apparently everyone was using this one.

And then, he started editing a video from all the footage that he got during the war, and there was a lot of good footage.

"...Maybe this... Yeah, that looks good..."

Meanwhile, he was also looking for editing tips in Lagless and applied that knowledge to his video editing.

In the end, the hours stretched, and the night was getting ever so late, and finally, after hours of editing, he was done.

"Now, I’ll need to add some voice lines."

Fang Raon looked at the microphone that was connected to his headset, and thought that it was probably quite bad.

He didn’t have money to purchase a proper microphone.

’This should do.’

With that, he cleared his throat and opened his mouth, and started speaking into the microphone.
