Black Online-Chapter 162: Special Person
’Could it be... Did I really force the kiss on him... He didn’t want to... Why didn’t he tell me... I don’t want to help him cheat either... I hate cheaters...’
Her lips trembled, and she felt like crying, but she didn’t want Anna to win, so she sucked in the tears.
She put her hand on the doorknob.
With a deep breath, she composed herself and stepped back into the common room.
Anna and her guild members had already retreated to their quarters, and there were only a couple of members of Rose Records present.
"Della, what did the two of you talk about?"
Miranda asked.
She knew Della very well—they had known each other for the longest time—and could tell that she was not herself right at this moment.
"I don’t want to talk about that right now. Fang Raon, may I have a word with you on the balcony, please?"
Della said.
She was now acting like the guild master, and the tone of her voice was... cold... as if she was putting an invisible barrier around her and Fang Raon.
"Okay...?"
Fang Raon said strangely.
He thought that there was something off about her, but he walked onto the balcony and sat down on one of the chairs she had gestured to.
It was very cold outside.
"I have a couple of questions."
Della said.
"Sure..."
Fang Raon said.
He didn’t know what it was, but it felt like there was a huge distance between the two of them, as if they were strangers all of a sudden.
’I don’t like this.’
He thought.
"Who is Chaewon?"
Della asked.
In that moment, she noticed his expression change drastically, and Della felt like her heart broke into a thousand pieces.
That expression told her all she needed to know.
This Chaewon person was real.
"...How do you know about her?"
Fang Raon asked.
"Does it matter?!"
Della suddenly screamed.
He had never seen her like this before, and she was angry—at him especially—but he didn’t know why.
"Anna told you, huh... What did she tell you exactly?"
Fang Raon asked.
"...She told me enough. That she is your girlfriend. I wish you would’ve told me. That thing that happened in the cemetery should’ve never happened then.
"I don’t know what game you’re playing, but if you plan on cheating on your girlfriend, I will not help you do that.
"Opposite even—I would hate you with all my heart—my mother got cheated on by my father, and I... don’t want anyone to experience that kind of pain."
Della said.
She was on the verge of tears.
"Girlfriend? What? There is a massive misunderstanding."
Fang Raon said.
"W-what do you mean?"
Della asked while wiping the tears off the corners of her eyes.
"She is not my girlfriend. I don’t have a girlfriend. I don’t know why my sister told you that, but that is not true."
Fang Raon said with a serious look.
He began to wonder what kind of game his sister was playing or whether she was simply misunderstanding something.
"...What?"
Della’s eyes shook, and she looked at his face—he seemed honest—and her broken heart slightly healed.
"Y-you aren’t lying, right?"
"I am not lying."
Fang Raon said with a frown.
"Who is she then?"
She asked.
"...A caretaker of mine."
Fang Raon cleared his throat. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
He didn’t really want to get into that part of his life.
"Of that Caretaker Facility that you were assigned to?"
Della asked softly.
"...How do... Ah, my sister told you... She had no right to do that."
Fang Raon gritted his teeth.
It was something he liked to keep private, as he was embarrassed about that short part of his life.
"She is just your caretaker and not your girlfriend? Is that correct?"
Della asked one more time.
"That’s correct. I don’t know why my sister told you those lies, but maybe she was just misunderstanding something."
Fang Raon said.
’No... She was deliberately trying to break us up. I think she was hoping that I wouldn’t believe him if he tried to explain his side of the story.
’However... There is still a possibility that he is lying...’
Della looked at him.
Her heart raced, and there was a question that she wanted to ask but was nervous about how he would respond.
"This Chaewon person... Is she special to you?"
Della asked.
"I think... she is very special to me... Without her, I would’ve been in a very dark place over at the Caretaker Facility. In a way, she saved me."
Fang Raon said gently.
It was obvious from his expression that he thought very fondly about this Chaewon girl, and there were a lot of feelings involved.
"Do you like her?"
Della asked.
She looked at him. And he looked back at her.
"I do."
Fang Raon said.
The answer pierced Della’s heart like an arrow, and she felt pain, but on the other hand, she was relieved.
’He is honest... I don’t think he lied about anything...’
Della smiled and mumbled.
"It does sound like I have some competition then~"
"Did you say something?"
Fang Raon asked.
He didn’t quite manage to hear her, but then Della just shook her head with a smile and said.
"Nothing~"
She smiled happily.
"What else did my sister tell you? I don’t think that was just it, was it? My sister is a very untrustworthy person, and I think she believes that you’re trying to take advantage of me.
"It has happened in the past, when there were some people trying to take advantage of me, as I was the son of the wealthy Fang Family.
"It made her feel paranoid and suspicious of everyone around us. I think she is just worried about me. Once I tell her that everything is fine, I am sure that she’ll calm down."
Fang Raon said.
Della looked at him fondly.
She could tell that he loved his sister dearly—even with all her crazy behavior—and she wasn’t sure whether she should tell him the truth.
’If I tell him that Anna wanted me to kick him out of this guild, I might ruin their reputation forever. I don’t think Anna’s state of mind can take that lightly.
’She will do everything in her power to crush this guild then. I should keep that a secret for now.’
Della thought with a sigh.
