Chapter 206: Killua Temple

It took a while, but Fang Raon finally found where the Killua Temple was, as it wasn’t in St. Bella Village.

With the instructions from the locals, he was able to navigate through the winding streets of the 6th floor and finally found the temple hidden over at Ymir’s Forest.

Ymir’s Forest was outside the city. It was a block of land that stretched miles in every direction.

It was a place where some players would go hunt down some animals and, occasionally, some monsters.

It was also the location of Killua Temple, a sacred land within the forest of monsters, where it was possible to communicate with the dead.

"..."

Fang Raon stepped up stone steps, leading the way towards the temple entrance, and his heart was quite erratic.

He was feeling nervous... There was a bad feeling gnawing at his gut... that whatever awaited him inside the temple was not going to be pleasant.

’I don’t like it that Father told me to come all the way here... Away from the Safe Zone.’

Fang Raon thought with a frown.

It was dark, even though it wasn’t that late but felt like it was late in the evening.

It was all because of the tall trees and their branches that blocked any notion of sunlight penetrating the forest.

When Fang Raon was walking through the forest towards the temple, he did encounter some wild animals.

However, with a few sword swings, he dispatched them very easily, as most of the wild animals weren’t a match for level 3 players.

In that moment.

Fang Raon reached the top of the stone stairs and walked through an arched entrance of the ancient temple.

The temple had few shacks. Stone-tiled ground. A few statues, even a couple of tombstones, were scattered around, but there didn’t seem to be any signs of life.

However.

Then Fang Raon came across people, who were waiting over at the main building of the temple that was used to communicate with the dead.

Aizen was kneeling before the altar, his head lowered in prayer.

His sons, Raizen and Raikou, were leaning against the wall with their arms crossed over their chests.

Anna, on the other hand, stood up as soon as she saw Fang Raon arrive, and she gave him a quick wave.

"You’ve come."

Aizen opened his eyes, then he stood up and turned around to face his youngest son, a small smile appearing on his face.

"...Interesting place you chose for a meeting."

Fang Raon said.

"It’s distant. We won’t be bothered in here. And I’ve heard a great deal about Killua Temple and its connection with the dead.

"Y’see, I was just trying to communicate with the dead, but it doesn’t seem like they are a talkative bunch. Nobody answered me."

Aizen said.

’Is he interested in the afterlife since he is kicking the bucket, or is this just another one of his acting gigs?’

Fang Raon wondered.

Because of his talk with Anna, he was being suspicious of everything.

"Anyway... We’re all here to hear your answer."

Aizen spread his arms wide and spoke, like he was preparing to embrace the answer no matter what it was.

Fang Raon looked silently at his father.

While Aizen looked calm, Fang Raon knew that it could change as quickly as the wind.

"I’ve made up my mind, and... I decided not to come. I don’t want to come back to the Fang Village."

Fang Raon crossed his arms behind his back and said.

Swoosh~ The cold wind blew across the Killua Temple and carried all the orange leaves off the ground and into the air.

"...Tch."

Raikou clicked his tongue angrily as he thought it was extremely childish of Fang Raon to say no to their father.

Especially since he was dying!

Raizen looked disinterested.

"...Brother."

Anna’s lips curled down as she didn’t like the answer, as she would’ve liked for him to come back home with her.

She was also now worried about what their father might do.

"..."

Aizen looked silently at him, and he leaned against his walking stick, which he used to balance himself straight.

"I have to say that I am quite disappointed. It wasn’t that long ago when you wanted to come back home, even asking Anna to convince me to let you return.

"Yet, in that short timespan, you’ve completely changed your mind for some reason."

Aizen said curiously.

It was surprising him, and he wondered what could’ve caused such a drastic change in the attitude.

"Brother... Just come back. We all know what kind of dump that Megaworld really is. You’ll be much happier over at home."

Anna said.

"I’ve made my decision."

Fang Raon said.

"Sigh, what a waste of fucking time. I hope you enjoy your shitty life. Can we go now?"

Raikou asked.

He thought that it was useless for their father, who was a very busy man, to personally come meet Raon.

In Raikou’s opinion, Raon didn’t deserve that kind of attention, as he was simply a nobody.

"Truly disappointing..."

Aizen whispered, and he then, with the help of the walking cane, stepped down the couple steps of the shack.

It looked like he was going to approach Raon, but after a few steps, he stopped walking and stopped.

"My children... Kill him."

Aizen suddenly said.

It came as suddenly as a bolt of lightning, and it took everyone a moment to process what he had just said.

"I knew you wouldn’t take no for an answer."

Fang Raon said with a chuckle.

It wasn’t a humorous chuckle. It was a painful chuckle.

"I gave you life. I can take everything away from you."

Aizen said coldly.

"FUCK YOU!"

Fang Raon pulled out his King’s Shortsword, and lunged towards his father with raging fire in his eyes.

"Hard Slash!"

Screech~ With a screeching sound, Aizen pulled out a hidden blade from his walking cane and blocked Fang Raon’s attack.

"I do not need levels. I do not need skills. I am enough."

Aizen said coldly.

"?!?!?!"

Fang Raon’s eyes shook as he suddenly felt immense pressure, and despite his strength, he was being pushed back by his father.

Aizen wasn’t at the prime of his life anymore. He had grown old. And he was also dying, so he was looking weaker than normal.

Yet.

He was physically overpowering Fang Raon.

"Don’t do that, Dad, please!"

Anna screamed.

"Silence, idiotic daughter!"

Aizen screamed.

He swung the sword cane, and Fang Raon got pushed back, his feet sliding on the stone tiles as if they were coated in oil.

"...What is this crazy strength?"

Fang Raon narrowed his eyes.

"This is not strength. This is skill." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Aizen said coldly, and then he slid the blade back to his cane and started walking back to the temple shack.

"My sons... Take care of him."

He said to Raikou and Raizen.

"Don’t mind me if I do."

With a smirk on his face, Raikou pulled out his dagger and slowly approached the sword-wielding brothers of his.

’I can’t handle them!’

Fang Raon thought, and he turned around to run away, but then his own shadow suddenly wrapped around his ankles.

"Shadow Bind... You’re not going anywhere."

Raikou said with a smirk.

In that moment, Raizen pulled out his beautiful-looking spear from his inventory, and he let out a bored yawn.

Then, he leapt across the air and aimed the spear towards Fang Raon’s head and was ready to strike with lightning speed.

’I am going to die!’

Fang Raon thought in fear.

The pressure that Raizen emitted was crazy, even though he obviously wasn’t even trying, but he was one of the strongest people in the tower for a reason.

If Fang Raon only had about a 5% chance of defeating Raikou, he had even less of a chance against Raizen.

It was most likely at 0%—even less if that was possible.

"Spear..."

Raikou whispered the starting words of his skill, but in that moment, he shot a gaze to his side as he saw something coming at him.

He swung his spear at the thing that was suddenly upon him and clashed with the sleek-looking shield.

"Get away from him!"

Anna growled as she pushed her shield against Raizen, and her overwhelming strength was enough to push him back.

"Hmph!"

Raizen whipped the spear at the shield, and it sent Anna flying back, and she smashed through a couple tombstones.

"What are you doing, sister?"

Raizen asked.

"Do you really think I will just stand aside and let you hurt my beloved brother? I will kill you if I have to."

Anna said coldly.

She looked petite and gentle, as if she could barely wield that shield of hers, but looks can be very deceiving.

She was, after all, known as Destroyer, and everyone who had underestimated her had paid dearly for it.

"..."

Raizen was conflicted about what to do, and thus, he turned to look at his father, Aizen, for an answer to his dilemma.

"Disarm her!"

Aizen shouted.

Raizen raised his spear and struck it down at Anna, and she blocked it with her shield, causing a loud clang to echo throughout the temple.

The ground cracked around them, and the wind swept in every direction, blowing away the leaves.

Meanwhile, Raikou slowly approached Fang Raon while twirling his daggers around, as if he enjoyed tormenting him.

’What the hell can I do about these shadows? It makes no sense that I can’t do anything against this skill!’

Fang Raon thought with an angry expression.

He felt like there was an answer somewhere to counter this skill, but he simply lacked the knowledge.

If he found the answer... Maybe there was a chance to survive.
