Chapter 256: Chapter 256

It had been a long while since Zion had been home. He missed everything about the place. The smell, the comfort, his lab, the food, his servants, and most importantly, his bed. Man, did he miss his bed.

The first thing he wanted to do was take his girls and give them the best time of their lives. Unfortunately, that crazy Dragon Apostle wouldn’t allow him to take things easy, and he had to prepare for a potential war that he knew would break out.

Because of this, instead of spending quality time at home with his family, he had to sit in front of a screen and go over battle tactics and prepare his army.

"Circe, the Divine Apostle of Bahamut, who is also a demigoddess. This will be tough, but not impossible." Zion looked over all the information he had on the dragons, and unfortunately, it was as much as the crumbs from a cookie jar.

"Why the fuck do we only have basic information on these Lizards?!" He shouted

"Y-Young Master, we apologize. Hylaea is well fortified, and its people are very strong. It would be difficult to establish a base there."

Zion turned to one of his informants. She was shaking while on one knee, thinking Zion was upset with her.

"What? No, I wasn’t being serious. I was just expressing my frustration. I know why we barely have any information on them. Hell, even I said not to worry about them a while ago. Freeda is your leader, right? She should be at the Mystic Stage by now. Tell her to gather as much information on the dragons as she can without putting the unit in danger. Use the satellite if you have to."

"Yes, young master." The woman vanished.

Zion made sure to have every leader of each branch of his personal army break through to the True Mystic Stage, even getting a spirit. Also, thanks to his fracture, about 70 percent of his forces also broke through to the mystic stage, which would greatly help their chances at winning the upcoming war.

’I’ll have to wait until everyone in Heaven’s Bane is a Mystic being so they can stand a chance against the dragons. Still, things will be difficult since dragons are stupidly strong. I also won’t be able to help as much since I’ll be fighting against Circe.’

"Damn, I guess I have to activate that protocol right now. Tessa, connect me to Brok and Eitri."

[Call connecting.]

"Yo, bossman, what’s up?" Brok greeted him.

Eitri waved. "Hello, Zion."

"Is protocol falling stars ready?" Zion asked in a serious tone.

The two brothers looked at each other.

"It is, however, we’re having some issues."

"Explain."

"You see, the entire mechanism is complete and fully operational; that’s no problem. Its propulsion system, weapons system, the central computer, and all the other features are complete. However, the device it’s self uses a shit ton of mana. And when I mean a shit ton, I mean a SHIT TON!" Brok expanded his arms to show Zion what he meant.

Eitri nodded. "We’ve managed to cut the mana cost by using photon energy. But that still isn’t sufficient. In fact, we’re using more photon energy than we are mana, so it doesn’t even balance out. Getting this thing in space is one thing, but having it be operational is another."

"What about the energy converters? It should be absorbing mana from the air and solar energy at a constant rate." Zion assumed

"Burns right through that like it’s nothing."

"Damn. Okay, what if I send it in space myself? We’ll save fuel, and it can use all the energy for its operation." Zion asked

The brothers nodded. "That can work; however, the mechanism will eventually run out of power since your goal is to have it encompass the world. We need a near-infinite energy source. Since we’ve already confirmed that mana exists in space, and the mechanism has solar energy converters, having an energy source to handle the rest of everything will be needed."

"Mana stones?"

"Too inefficient. Still, we placed them in there for a backup."

Zion thought about his options, but then he came up with a good idea. "Don’t worry about the energy source, I got it under control. Just prep the machine."

"As you say, boss."

"Willow."

A woman materialized on Zion’s couch, which he always kept in his lab.

"I see you’ve become a demigod. But you haven’t collected all the divine relics yet, nor did you fill the nexus pools with the energy of Luminera and Erebosa."

"Yeah, I’m not here for that. I have to ask you a question."

"Ask away."

"Is your energy infinite?" He wondered.

She shook her head. "Nothing is infinite, not even Primordials."

"Okay, well, how much energy do you have?"

"A lot."

"Okay. If I wanted to launch a space station that emcompaced the entire world, like it’s atmosphere, and it cost a buttload of energy, how long could you sustain it for?"

She thought about that answer for a while before asking Zion a question. "How big is it, and how much energy does it take?"

"Hmm, good question, let’s find out."

Zion teleported over to where the space station was. It didn’t look like one as it was only a massive metal hexagonal disk. However, that was the whole point of it. Grabbing the disk, Zion teleported into space.

"Well, let’s see this bad boy in action."

He was high enough that the space station wouldn’t fall back down to the earth and to where it would still be trapped by its gravity. Once he threw it, the disk hummed, pulsing with mana and photon energy.

The disk expanded, forming four more metallic hexagons, then, after the five metal hexagons were in place, holographic-like hexagons expanded from the five metal ones on each side until it fully encompassed the world. It was an energy barrier.

Then, a room rose up from the metal hexagons, acting as the central station where things would be manually operated if needed.

"This is more like a Dyson sphere than a space station," Zion commented.
