Chapter 409: Chapter 1 - A Joyful Dramatic

Swoosh...

Swoosh...

Right on a hot afternoon, I stood on an empty ground and stared at Marquess Rommel’s knights who were neatly lined up with full weapons in their hands.

My mind was also filled with the chatter of a herd of stealth slimes coming from the Soul Tame communication channel, where they wanted to get orders to immediately explore the deepest part of the forest.

Before this military expedition continued, I glanced at my mother, who was preparing to return home to the Main Mansion via teleportation slash.

My hand, which had been holding the staff, stuck the tip of the staff into the ground and called Momo to do her little job as a cursed Odachi, which means to opening a teleportation slash to bring my mother home.

Once my mother returns, this military expedition will begin immediately, and I will resume my search for the Dark Elf race’s dwelling place in the deepest part of the forest.

I hoped nothing major accident wouldn’t happen in the depths of this still-mysterious forest. Just to be safe and secure, I maintained the magic circle formation that mapped out the area around me. Even though my magic energy was drained, it could still regenerate quickly using the effect of the keychain attached to my twin sister’s magic staff.

"It’s so sad that I have to go back home and work," my mother muttered after seeing me holding the hilt of the cursed Odachi and preparing to open a teleportation slash.

"Mom, the situation we’re in right now requires your magical abilities and experience more than our inexperienced ones. I’m pretty sure Papa is having a hard time right now," Alice chimed in, while try to pulling my mother’s arm, which was somehow locked in place when it hugged my body.

"What Alice said is true. Papa must be having a hard time without Mama by his side. Hurry up to go home and release Lily-nee from your tight embrace!" Alyssa said, pulling my mother’s hug away from my body.

Yes, this is what is happening right now.

Right after all of Marquess Rommel’s knights finished put down the kitchen tent, which was an important facility in this military expedition, my mother hugged me tightly and didn’t want to go back home after experiencing the pleasure of the military expedition she had done in her youth.

It seems like she wants to enjoy the youth that has passed and wants to enjoy the nostalgia that she has long missed.

"Let me enjoy this military expedition a little longer, Lily!"

"Just one night..."

"I-I want to enjoy a cool night without working as a Marchioness... JUST ONE NIGHT!!" my mother shouted as she looked at me with pleading eyes.

I felt bad about sending my mother home, who had to work hard and be alert all the time, after the political situation in the capital of the Aurora Kingdom heated up.

Honestly, I knew that my mother was joking and meant to reduce the tension felt by all of Marquess Rommel’s knights. By fact... this is an act to joke around and we planned it.

It happened the night before, when I submitted a proposal and formally request to continue this military expedition with the main goal of finding the location of the Dark Elf race.

The Dark Elf race’s territories and location remain a mystery, guided only by the compass given by the Goddess of Nature. With such an unclear objective, I naturally had to inform all of Marquess Rommel’s knights participating in this military expedition.

The fatigue and lack of morale to continue this military expedition would soon be felt. I, too, was already bored with remaining in one place without making any progress toward my main objective. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"A-Aaaaahhh, Liiiilllyyy!!"

My mother was dragged by Madam Estelle and helped my twin sister release her tight hug on my body.

My hand immediately pulled the hilt of the cursed Odachi and slashed the air beside me to open a teleportation slash.

Slaassshh!!

The air felt heavy, and I opened the teleportation slash, triggering my mother’s screams, not wanting to go home immediately.

"NO!! I STILL WANT TO RELAX BY DOING A SLACKING JOB!"

"I DON’T WANT TO GO HOME TO THAT BUSY JOB AGAIN!!"

"HELP ME LILY!!"

Madam Estelle, who pulled my mother, became a laughing stock for all of Marquess Rommel’s knights who were lining up neatly and waiting for further orders from me.

I waited for the drama to end and glanced at my twin sister, who was now hugging my body tightly.

Srrusshh...

Sruuusshh...

After my mother hugged my body tightly, it was my twin sister’s turn to hug my body tightly.

Why is there a turn-based system like this?

I took a deep breath and let go of the cursed Odachi, letting Momo fly freely in the air along with Ellen and the new cursed weapon that didn’t have an official name yet. As per tradition, the cursed weapon had to be reforged by Mio to receive a new name.

"LILLYY!!" My mother was still screaming my name and was being dragged by Madam Estelle until her voice disappeared after entering the teleportation slash.

Just to do this kind of joke, my mother really intended to do it.

I stared at the line of knights in front of me and whispered to my twin sisters, who were busy hugging my body tightly, "Alice... Alyssa... It’s time to continue the military expedition."

With those gentle words, it seemed to have managed to break Alice and Alyssa’s tight embrace. However, there were still remnants of the tight embrace that refused to let go.

"C-Can we hug a little longer, Onee-sama?"

"Y-Yes, can we hug you... a little bit longer, Lily-nee?"

I had no idea my mother’s tight hug would have such an impact. But... Alice and Alyssa were already aware of this plan to boost the morale of Marquess Rommel’s knights, so why both of them... became like this affectionate?

"You two must have to follow the plan that has been well-planned, you know..." I replied in a whisper to Alice and Alyssa.

"Uhm, I know... but this warm hug would be a waste if I just let it go, wouldn’t it?" Alice replied with a strange excuse.

"Y-Yes, this kind of tight hug will end up being wasted if it is not utilized well because Lily-nee’s body scent will smell good on this hot afternoon," said Alyssa, who expressed her hidden desires honestly.

"I will limit it until Madam Estelle returns, after she return, release your hugs," I replied, giving final judgment on this unexpected turn of events.

Although most of the plans were carried out well to boost the morale of all of Marquess Rommel’s knights who participated in this military expedition, there were times when the plans that had been drawn up did not go as desired, like this.

Srrusshh...

Srrusshh...

Alice and Alyssa pushed their bodies even more to hug me tightly, triggering a loud cheering reaction from the male knights who saw such intimate closeness, between me and my twin sisters.

I could only surrender when Alice and Alyssa did such shameful things. There was little I couldn’t do... just accept the love and affection they gave me.

Mio just smiled when my twin sisters showed their love for me, as if this were a common, intimate closeness.

That’s not wrong. Alice and Alyssa’s intimate closeness has been happening so often lately that it feels normal after seeing it a few times.

Ugh, I feel like this intimate closeness is too embarrassing.

But after it became such a common occurrence, it made me feel strange to reject the love and affection my twin sister gave me.

At least, that’s what I thought...

This kind of embarrassing intimacy, over time, I grew to like it.

Just as I was receiving love and affection from my little sister, an urgent report from the Stealth Slime herd scattered within the forest alerted me, it heard as a lot growth of a large amount of residual magical energy, scattered across the sky with abnormal status.

[ Supreme Commander! I detect a large amount of residual magical energy in the sky! ]

[ I feel the same way, Supreme Commander! ]

[ Reporting to Supreme Commander! Something large is moving in the sky, and it’s getting closer! ]

[ Ueehh!! T-That’s huge! Something huge is swooping down, SUPREME COMMANDER! ]

[ W-What is that big thing? WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE IT’S FALLING TOWARDS THE SUPREME COMMANDER?!! ]

Because the sound of the stealth slime herd giving reports was covered up by each other, I could only faintly hear the report sounds.

The report I heard was of residual magical energy spreading across the sky and a large object swooping down toward me. This made me glance at my magic circle formation, which was mapping the area around me.

"Hmm..." I muttered after seeing the unknown red dot that was getting bigger.

Judging from the magic signature that looked like a monster, I gripped the magic staff that was stuck on the ground and didn’t take my eyes off the magic circle formation in front of me.

My head was filled with all kinds of thoughts about this big signature monster.

I didn’t want to cause a huge panic for Mio, Alice, Alyssa, and all of Marquess Rommel’s knights who were neatly lined up before my eyes.

This is indeed a hassle, but I have to prepare precautions before it’s too late.

I slowly closed my eyes and tried to recall the high-level magic incantation my mother used to protect people over a wide area. A protective spell that had been wasted on researching explosive spurs.

Taking a deep breath and relaxing my muscles to cast silent magic, I cast one of the high-level magics often used by the Great Heroes in the past.

"Iron Dome..." with a silent incantation and as much as possible to not leak too much of my residual magical energy, I cast a protective magic spell above the sky.

Colorless...

Without activating the magic circle...

Without showing a shadow on this bright day...

I have prepared high-level protective magic to welcome the arrival of this unknown monster.

"Lily-nee?"

"Onee-sama?"

Without me expecting it, Alice and Alyssa seemed to notice the silent magic chant I had done.

"Ssshhh..." I immediately shut their mouths so as not to cause panic.

Alice and Alyssa understood that and looked up at the sky to see my translucent protective magic spell.

"A monster, huh?" Alyssa asked in a small whisper that blew in my ear.

"I don’t know, maybe it’s a monster..." I replied in a whisper and continued to pay attention to my magic circle formation that was mapping the area around me.

The growing red dot made me feel uncomfortable and triggered my danger instincts, making me see time passing slowly.

"Even a high-level magic spell can’t hold back this monster’s attacks and trigger my danger detection abilities, huh?" I muttered as I lifted my head to look at the monster approaching me.

In this slow-moving flow of time, I could see a winged monster swooping down. From my position against the blinding sunlight, I could see the striking red of its skin.

Somehow, that striking red skin felt familiar...

Like an old friend you haven’t seen in a long time and suddenly comes to visit...

Just in case, I immediately added a layer of Iron Dome magic.
