After saying those words to Reiny, the person nonchalantly threw him back to the ground.

Reiny sat on the ground dazedly for a while, then as if suddenly mustering strength from somewhere, he quickly got up and, yelling, waved the Magic Tool scimitar in his hand to drive away the encircling Ghost-faced Flowers.

He then desperately chased after the figure in front of him.

The two of them ran out of the Ghost Face Flower Field, sprinting across the untended muddy ground, over a high earth mound, and suddenly before them, the scene cleared…

Under the azure sky, the verdant lawn, within the lawn was a lake, and a few poplar trees were planted by the lake, along with a very pretty little white house.

The scenery was peacefully beautiful, like an oil painting, and Ronan felt as if he finally escaped from a nightmare into reality.

The faint sense of crisis that had been lingering in his mind also receded quickly like the tide.

“Are we at the entrance of the Corpse Garden?”

Ronan’s eyes flickered as he slowed his pace on the lawn, then he took a Potion out of his Waist Storage Bag, unscrewed the cap and drank slowly.

Despite the successive battles, even without using the Power of Magic Domain, his spiritual power was nearly depleted.

This was a good opportunity to replenish it.

Now, Ronan was even more convinced of his earlier guess: they had been continually moving outward from the deepest part of the “Corpse Garden.”

The white house in front of them was likely the residence of the garden’s owner, or the “gardener.”

Their group had intruded, causing so much commotion, yet not a single Black Robe came out to stop them…

either the owner of the Corpse Garden was not at home; or, as Wizard Fa Ao had said, he blocked all the apparent forces.

Ronan personally preferred the former guess.

“Huff— Huff—”

Someone was gasping for air as they caught up from behind.

It was the young wizard Reiny.

Ronan’s earlier speed was not slow, and for this guy to have kept up despite his injuries…

was nothing short of a miracle.

After catching up to Ronan, Reiny stood in place, gasping for breath.

This type of high-intensity escape was indeed challenging for an average wizard.

Fortunately, this guy was strong and robust, stimulated by Ronan’s words to unleash his potential.

After panting for a long time, Reiny finally regained his breath and the first thing he did was approach Ronan with a sincere expression and say, “Thank…

thank you.”

Ronan waved his hand, indicating it was nothing.

However, Reiny’s expression was complicated; his eyes were filled with a mix of closeness, gratitude, and deep reverence, as if truly treating him as a partner.

“Can we formally introduce ourselves?

My name is…”

Reiny gathered his courage to start a conversation with Ronan but was interrupted before he could finish his sentence.

“Your name is Reiny, I know.”

Ronan replied casually after putting the empty Potion bottle back in the Waist Storage Bag.

Reiny was stunned for a moment, his face first showing surprise and delight, but then turning ugly the next second.

“You know me.

So, what you said earlier about Iris…

Is that also true?”

“Uh…”

Ronan remained silent.

After some thought, he still disclosed what he saw in the Drunken Deer Bar to Reiny, and in the end, he added a comforting phrase.

“Being your good friend, it’s only reasonable to console your heartbroken girlfriend, right?

No need to take it too much to heart.”

“That bastard Matthew!”

Obviously, Ronan’s consoling words did not have any effect.

“When I get back, I swear I’m going to break his hands!”

Reiny’s face flushed red as he clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.

Ronan patted his shoulder sympathetically and then began walking towards the little white house below.

Reiny, who had just learned the truth, was chattering nonstop into his ear.

“You don’t know, but actually I have quite good aptitude.

It was entirely because of him; that I didn’t join the academy…”

“He was my best friend, and it was later that we together met Iris…”

“Did I join this mission for adventure just for myself?

I wanted to earn resources for him and Iris!

I hoped that the three of us could ascend to being Official Wizards together…”

“I treated him like that, yet he went behind my back and did such things, the shameless jerk, he betrayed me!..”

“Oh right, I still don’t know, what exactly is your name?”

Ronan was inwardly speechless, just as he was about to casually mention his own name, at that moment, several dark shadows crossed the sky.

A few crows appeared out of nowhere, landing on the treetops of the poplars ahead, quietly grooming their feathers.

Ronan paused in his step, and the ease on his face gradually disappeared.

For some reason, seeing the appearance of these crows, a sense of unexplained unease suddenly surged from the bottom of his heart.

“Forget it.”

Ronan looked at the white house they were about to approach, his eyes flickering, and suddenly made up his mind, “Let’s not get closer; let’s go that way.”

He had originally planned to investigate the house, but now he changed his mind, intending to bypass the house and continue searching for the exit ahead.

Reiny naturally had no objections, nodding incessantly.

Just as the two were about to bypass the house by the lake and head towards the grassland ahead, the white house suddenly made a noise.

“Creak—”

It was the sound of a door opening.

“Be careful.”

Ronan lifted his Magic Wand a little, whispered a warning to Reiny, his mind’s spiritual power was ready to be unleashed, prepared for a battle at any moment.

Reiny clenched the Magic Tool scimitar in both hands as if facing a formidable enemy.

Finally, the door of the white house opened from the inside, and a figure leisurely walked out.

“Wiz…

Wizard Fa Ao!”

Reiny’s surprised voice completely broke the tense atmosphere on the scene. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
