Part 12: Leo vs. The Tigers (A Battle of Wits... and Fear)
Leo froze as the two massive tigers prowled toward him, their golden eyes locked onto him like he was a deluxe steak dinner.
"Uh, guys? A little help here?" he squeaked.
Marco leaned against the bar, watching with zero urgency. "Nope. You got yourself into this, buddy."
Enzo adjusted his sleeves. "Think of it as a learning experience."
Leo scowled. "A learning experience?! I'm about to become cat food!"
Valeria Vega smirked from her velvet couch. "Relax, kid. They won't eat you... yet."

Leo gulped. "Not reassuring!"
Leo's Brilliant Plan (That Wasn't Very Brilliant)
The tigers were three feet away when Leo had an idea.
A stupid idea.
But an idea nonetheless.
He whipped off his jacket and waved it like a matador. "Hah! You guys like movement, right? Go fetch!"
He threw the jacket as far as he could.
The tigers? Did not move.
Instead, they just stared at him-like they were judging his intelligence.
Valeria sighed. "Oh my God, you're actually dumb."
Leo groaned. "It was worth a shot!"
One of the tigers growled and took another step forward.
Marco shook his head. "Alright, that's enough. I don't wanna explain to Dante why you got eaten."
He casually pulled out a raw steak from his inside jacket pocket.
Leo blinked. "Why do you have that?"
Marco tossed it to the ground. "Always be prepared."
The tigers immediately pounced on the steak.
Leo scrambled backward. "Holy! Couldn't you have done that five minutes ago?!"
Marco smirked. "And miss out on some quality entertainment? No way."
Time for Business (Finally)
Valeria sighed. "Alright, fun's over. You better have a damn good reason for being here."
Leo fixed his shirt (which was now slightly covered in sweat and terror). "Look, we had nothing to do with that bomb. Someone set us up."
Valeria arched an eyebrow. "And you expect me to believe that?"
Enzo, always the professional, stepped forward. "We do. We have proof that the package was ordered under a fake identity."
Leo nodded. "Yeah! And besides, if we were involved, do you think we'd be stupid enough to show up here?"
Marco coughed. "I mean, you would."
Leo shot him a glare.
Valeria tapped her fingers against her glass. "Fine. Show me the proof."
Enzo pulled out his phone and displayed a hacked document, revealing the real buyer's identity.
Valeria's eyes darkened as she read the name.
"...That son of a"
She slammed her glass on the table. "Of course it was him."
Leo leaned forward. "So, uh, we cool now?"
Valeria studied them for a moment.
Then she snapped her fingers again.
The tigers stopped eating and looked up.
Leo flinched. "Wait, WAIT!"
Valeria smirked. "Relax. I just wanted to see you sweat one more time."
Leo scowled. "Lady, you are evil."
She shrugged. "It's a talent."
Enzo cleared his throat. "So, are we good?"
Valeria sighed. "Yeah. You're off the hook-for now. But if I find out you lied to me..."
She gestured toward the tigers.
Leo nodded aggressively. "Nope! No lies here! We're very honest criminals!"
Marco patted his back. "That's an oxymoron, buddy."
Leo groaned. "Shut up, Marco."
Mission Accomplished... Kind Of
As they walked out of the club, Leo wiped his forehead. "I swear, I need a vacation."
Marco grinned. "Aww, you don't wanna keep hanging out with us?"
Leo shot him a glare. "Not when 'hanging out' means almost getting eaten!"
Enzo checked his watch. "Hate to break it to you, but Dante's gonna call us any second now with another job."
Leo's phone rang.
He sighed.
"Yep. I hate my life."
To be continued...
