Part 17: The Blood Pact

Leo paced the dimly lit lounge, his mind racing. A vampire clan? Blood trade? Supernatural weapons? It sounded insane-something out of a twisted horror story but Hiroshi's expression held no trace of deception.

Dante, on the other hand, was still processing. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples as if he could massage the absurdity out of the situation. "Alright, let's just say, for a second, that I believe you. What the hell are we supposed to do about it? We're mafia, Hiroshi. We deal in guns, drugs, money not whatever this is."

Hiroshi smirked, taking a slow sip of his drink before setting it down with a quiet clink. "That's where you're wrong. We don't just deal in those things. We deal in power. And right now, the Ryuugawa were about to sell that power to someone who would have wiped us all off the map."

Leo crossed his arms. "And you think we can stop it?"

"You already have," Hiroshi said. "For now."

That didn't sit right with Leo. "For now?"

Hiroshi exhaled, running a hand through his silver-streaked hair. "Taking out Ryuugawa's operation was only the first step. But the supplier-the one providing the supernatural weapons? They're still out there. And they know we just killed their best customers."

Dante let out a slow breath. "So now they're coming for us."

Hiroshi nodded. "And they won't come with a handshake."

Leo clenched his jaw. He didn't sign up for this supernatural war, but if what Hiroshi said was true, they were already caught in it.

"So what's the next move?" Leo asked, his voice low.

Hiroshi leaned forward, his eyes dark and calculating. "We make a deal before they do."

The Hunt Begins

By the next night, the Tensai-kai and the Shirogane Syndicate were already in motion. Intel had led them to an underground auction—an exclusive, invitation-only event where the rich and ruthless bid on everything from rare weapons to human lives.

But tonight, the most valuable item on the list was something far more dangerous.

Vampire Blood.

Leo adjusted his earpiece as he and Dante walked into the lavish, candlelit hall. The atmosphere was thick with cigar smoke and whispered deals, a playground for the corrupt and powerful. Men in tailored suits and women in designer gowns moved like predators through the room, their eyes filled with greed.

Marco's voice crackled through the earpiece. "I've got eyes on the seller. Far end of the room. Tall guy, silver hair, expensive taste."

Leo spotted him instantly-a man draped in an obsidian suit, leaning lazily against the bar as he swirled a glass of deep red liquid.

Hiroshi's voice cut in over the comms. "That's Lucian Devereaux. He's not just a supplier. He's a vampire prince."

Leo cursed under his breath. Of course, this had to get worse.

Dante smirked. "A prince? Fancy."

Hiroshi's tone was sharp. "Do not underestimate him. He's old, powerful, and plays by his own rules. But he's also a businessman. If we're lucky, he'd rather negotiate than rip our throats out."

Leo exhaled, stepping forward. "Let's find out."

The Devil's Bargain

As they approached the bar, Lucian's eyes flickered toward them, his irises glowing faintly under the low light. He set his glass down with deliberate care, studying them with the air of a predator amused by its prey.

"Ah," he murmured, his voice smooth like silk. "The infamous Tensai-kai. And the ever-calculating Shirogane. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Leo didn't waste time. "We know what you were selling to the Ryuugawa."

Lucian's lips curved into a slow, knowing smile. "Do you, now?"

Dante folded his arms. "And now that they're gone, we figured you'd be looking for a new partner."

Lucian tilted his head, intrigued. "Go on."

Leo met his gaze head-on. "We want in. You deal with us now."

For a long moment, Lucian simply watched him. Then, to Leo's surprise, he let out a low chuckle. "Bold. Very bold." He lifted his glass again, swirling the crimson liquid. "But tell me, little mafia prince, why should I trust you?"

Hiroshi, who had been silent until now, finally stepped forward. "Because if you don't, we'll become your biggest problem."

Lucian's smile widened. "Ah, I do love threats. They taste so much sweeter when followed through." He studied them for a moment longer before setting his glass down with a soft clink. "Very well. I'll make you an offer."

He leaned in, his voice dropping to a near whisper.

"A blood pact."

Leo's muscles tensed.

Hiroshi inhaled sharply. "Absolutely not."

Lucian ignored him, his golden eyes gleaming as he focused on Leo. "A few drops of my blood, bound with yours. It guarantees our truce, ensures loyalty... and grants you a taste of my power."

Dante muttered, "That sounds like a terrible idea."

Leo, however, wasn't so sure. If what Hiroshi said was true-if they were dealing with creatures that could tear through them like paper-then maybe they needed more than just bullets and strategy.

Maybe they needed something stronger.

Lucian smirked, as if reading his thoughts. "Think about it, Leo Fujiwara. The power of a vampire, without the curse. A temporary gift... for a permanent advantage."

Leo clenched his fists.

He had come here to make a deal with the devil.

Now, he had to decide if he was willing to become one.
