Booking Glory-Chapter 103: Chat With Dacey - Part 2
"At times, I have been a bitch." Dacey continued shaking her head. "I will give you that, but whenever I seemed too forceful or intense about you not spending your time with me, it is because I feared that you have grown tired of me. Whenever I saw your attention shifting, I was afraid that I was beginning to lose you."
"Dacey," Rob began only for her to raise her hands and stop him.
"Not now, Rob. I need to get this off my chest. And I know it wasn’t something you did intentionally. But still, my mind began thinking about all these various worst-case scenarios. I even deluded myself into thinking that I was worried for Andy and LWC. But, the fact of the matter is, it was about me. It was always about me and my need to get approval," Dacey chuckled causing Rob to feel a bit stunned.
"But, I worked through it and decided that I needed to be a better girlfriend. I even once thought that once we had sex, you would stop seeing me. That was one of the reasons I dragged it this long. When I invited you for lunch today, it was more out of fear of losing you to Stacy if I don’t step things up a notch," Dacey said a little self-deprecatingly.
"There is always this fear deep down in my heart that I am not at the same level as you are. That is why I waited till I became a champion to ask you out. That is why I tried to drag things when I should have let things take their natural course. And now, you have become a millionaire," Dacey chuckled shaking her head.
"Dacey, you know I don’t actually think you aren’t at my level, don’t you?" Rob asked a little shaken.
"I know Rob," Dacey said with a small smile. "I know. But knowing something and accepting something is entirely different. I realized this afternoon, I am once again becoming dependent on your approval. I am once more regressing into those behaviors that sent me to a place where I don’t want to be."
"It is hard. That is why I decided this afternoon to end stuff with you," Dacey said causing Rob to look at her in shock. "I can’t afford to go back to becoming the old me. I can’t do that. Not for you, not for anyone in this world. I can’t go there again, Rob."
"But... but... this...we... now..." Rob asked not able to wrap his head around what Dacey was telling.
"You must understand. I like you. I absolutely like you. But, I just didn’t want to get dependent on you again. I need to walk out of those shadows. I can’t regress back into what I was," Dacey said with a painful expression on her face. "But, every time I try to walk away from you, you will say or do something, that will make it harder for me to let you go."
"I thought to end this relationship between us with a banger and let go of all my insecurities and truly be myself for the night. That was the Dacey you saw in that car. I just wanted to have a good time and make a good memory. But, you once again dragged me back and I was absolutely conquered by you," Dacey said with a weak chuckle.
"I have realized now that it is hard to walk away from you. For me, it is very hard. I don’t know what to do anymore. I think I love you, but I am scared that I may come off as too strong and too soon. I keep second-guessing myself every time. I am regressing back to the old me who looked for everyone’s approval," Dacey said grabbing her head.
"I can’t do this Rob. I can’t... I don’t know what to do anymore. I just..." Dacey let out a choked sob causing Rob to get up and walk over to hug her tight to his chest.
Even he didn’t know what to say at this moment. While he understood where Dacey was coming from, he didn’t know what to say to her. He didn’t know what to do when she herself is conflicted like this.
"I... I..." Rob tried to say something, but he couldn’t speak.
His mind was in a mess now and he didn’t know how to react to this situation. He had never faced a situation like this before in both of his lives. He knew if it was just him in this new world, the guy who got his virginity taken away, he would be a little irritated with Dacey for making this all about her.
But, his life experience from the other world where he had lived for ten more years and gone through the drama of messy, tangled relationships appreciated her coming clean.
While he may not know what to do, he was grateful that Dacey hadn’t hidden her thoughts from him. It would make things moving forward a little bit easier now that he knew what was bothering her.
Moreover, he also needed a bit of time. He wasn’t ready to get committed to a serious relationship now. With being blindsided by IndiSoft’s stock rise, Rob had kept his doubts and worries to himself till now.
He knew that things wouldn’t be just rosy from here on. Life had a way of fucking things up and he was currently waiting for the other shoe to drop. Rob felt that he had too much on his plate now.
The tricky situation with Steven and Mr. Wagner, his recent alienation from LWC top brass, his relationship with Dacey, and now his new change in status as a millionaire. Rob felt that he was juggling too many things as well.
While his problems weren’t self-inflicted like Dacey’s, even he was not ready to get settled into a serious relationship yet. It felt like too soon for him. While Rob wasn’t averse to settling for the first girl he dated, he felt that with his new life he should explore more options as well.
"Dacey..." Rob said rubbing her back. "I just lost my virginity today. I lost it to you," Rob began causing Dacey to sob even harder.
"Oh gosh! I have once again made a mess of things. Rob, I am sorry. I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to do this. I never thought you were a virgin. This just made what I did now completely loathsome. How selfish should I be to ruin this moment for you? Oh, God!" Dacey sobbed causing Rob to shake his head and smile a little.
"It’s alright, look, I am fine. It’s alright," Rob consoled her.
"You must hate me now for ruining this night," Dacey hiccupped and she looked absolutely devastated.
"No, I don’t," Rob said patting her back. "I really appreciate you opening up to me. I know this is too much to take now. Even I am not sure how to deal with being a millionaire. I have never been one, you see," Rob tried to joke, luckily it got the desired effect.
"How hard can it be?" Dacey chuckled. "You can just rest and enjoy your life the way you want now."
"Well, I am already losing a girl before the money even comes in," Rob chuckled causing Dacey to be a little shocked. "Who knows what other problems this might bring in?"
"Rob, I didn’t mean it that way," Dacey said shaking her head. "I like you. But, it’s just my baggage making it hard. I don’t think any other girl would be put off. In fact, combined with your talent, you will be highly sought after. Girls will be throwing themselves at you after they learn that you are a millionaire."
"If it is so, are they throwing themselves at me or my money?" Rob asked raising his eyebrows. "Look, I would rather have one of you compared to tens of them."
"Rob..." Dacey said a little shocked.
"Look, all I am saying is that I haven’t become a millionaire yet. It is still a few hours away. Even then, I might not know what kind of problems I will be facing after this. I can understand what you are saying, but like I said, I would rather have you than tens of other girls," Rob said giving Dacey a small smile and making her blush a little.
"But..."
"Look, Dacey," Rob said grabbing her shoulders and looking directly at her. "If you are that afraid, let’s just take things slow. I also need to get accustomed to my new wealth. Let’s not make this anymore hard on us. We can date for even years before we decide to give it a serious shot. We have years, we are yet young."
"Rob, that would be unfair to you," Dacey said shaking her head.
"No Dacey, what’s unfair is you running away without even giving this a shot. All I am asking is for you to give it a shot. Give us a chance. Can you do that?" Rob asked seriously looking into her eyes.
"I can do that," Dacey said a little hesitantly, but she wiped her eyes and looked at Rob in a determined manner. "I can do that."
Her voice turned confident and Rob saw shades of Dacey Surestone peeking out from Dacey. Rob gave her a big smile and they both embraced each other.
They remained in that state for a bit before Dacey got up to put away the plates. Rob followed her into the kitchen.
"By the way, I wanted to ask something," Dacey asked looking up from the sink. "I don’t understand any of this, but a strange thought popped into me when we were talking earlier. So, I am just curious."
"Ask away," Rob smiled and leaned on the counter near her and looked at her face.
"Well, when we were talking about Mr. Walker’s motivation, you told me that he is looking for new investors using you, right?" Dacey asked to confirm. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Rob nodded his head and replied, "I don’t know, it is just a guess of mine."
"Anyway, if Mr. Walker is looking for new investors, wouldn’t they only invest if it is profitable?" Dacey asked.
"Yes, that is the basic premise," Rob said still not getting what Dacey was talking about.
"In that case, Brent’s business must be profitable. If that is so, why is Mr. Walker looking for others to invest? Isn’t that giving money away to others?"
"Mr. Walker is not a businessman. While he might help a little for Brent to stand up on his feet, he doesn’t have the money or the patience to be a good investor. He is a lawyer and even dealing with stocks is a gamble to him, in my opinion," Rob said shrugging.
"If Mr. Walker is not willing, then why don’t you invest in Brent? After all, you trust Brent a lot and his business is profitable," Dacey asked in confusion causing Rob’s brain to freeze a bit.
To be frank, Rob hadn’t even thought about investing in Brent’s business. That thought never even crossed his mind. If it was earlier, there was a reason for him to be a little hesitant. But, with the direction Brent’s company is going now, he could absolutely invest without many worries. And he had the money for it as well.
"Don’t take it the wrong way," Dacey said seeing Rob in a daze. "I just felt that you are interested in computers as well. Moreover, you even gave some ideas to Brent. I think Brent would appreciate you as a partner more than someone else who just puts in money."
"No, no, you are right," Rob said getting out of his fugue. "I didn’t even think about it."
"So, is it doable?" Dacey asked curiously.
"I need to think a bit more and talk with Brent as well. It is just not my decision alone. Maybe, he would like someone else with more money to fund his projects. But, I need to talk with Brent about it," Rob said scratching his chin.
Rob had no problems with investing in Brent’s business now. With Word and Excel being the base, Rob felt that Brent’s company could concentrate on creating more and more utility software like this and sell them to bigger companies.
Moreover, it is not as if utility software wouldn’t earn money. In fact, it is easier to earn money with them compared to creating groundbreaking technologies. The amount of money needed to create new technologies is really huge. The investment for them would be staggering. This one might just be right up his alley.
"Well, if you ask me, I think he would be more comfortable with you. Not just him, even his friends. You guys all know each other and they also listen to your ideas. So, it is a win-win in my opinion," Dacey said shrugging her shoulders and drying her hands with a nearby towel.
Rob felt as if some of his thoughts and future plans have cleared up after listening to Dacey’s words. He moved away from the counter and started pacing excitedly as his brain started to whirl with possibilities.
Rob didn’t feel that Brent wouldn’t welcome his investment. He felt Brent would be happy to have him on board. And even Mr. Walker would be amenable to letting go of things if he knew it was Rob that Brent was partnering with.
Both Brent and Mr. Walker had talked to him about this before. He and Brent even ended up arguing due to this. At that time, he was the one with misgivings. But, with the introduction of Word and Excel, Rob didn’t have any misgivings.
Even if they were reluctant, he could sweeten the pot by whipping out the ideas for one of the countless utility software in his mind. Their team would have endless ideas if they joined. All Rob needed to do was pick out the best ideas and let Brent and his friends take a crack at them.
This was really a beneficial partnership in both ways. While he gave the ideas and managed the general direction, Brent can concentrate on creating software and the needed technology for it. He can throw all these technical stuff to Brent.
Moreover, he trusted Brent more than other faceless company executives. He can also have a say in company direction unlike when he invested in IndiSoft. Mr. Walker’s warning of big capitals not allowing someone new to share the pie also lingered in his mind at the moment.
These big capitals can’t do anything if he was already an integral part of the company, can they? It would be like hurting their own golden goose. So, they could only watch as he accumulated wealth.
Sure, they would try something else in the future. But, he can care about that when he reaches that stage. This idea was beginning to excite him more and more as he thought about it.
Rob turned excitedly and rushed toward Dacey causing her to be surprised a bit. Rob hugged her tightly catching her off guard and gave a big kiss on her lips. Dacey’s struggle melted as Rob kissed her.
Rob broke off the kiss and said excitedly, "Dacey, your idea is genius. Thank you, it solves most of the problems that I have been shying away from."
"Oh, oh," Dacey said moving back slightly. "I just asked the doubts I had. I didn’t think anything about it."
"Still, your idea has helped me a lot," Rob said and hugged her once more.
This time, Rob could feel Dacey’s bare tits pressing against his chest. The last time he was too excited to notice. But now, he could feel it clearly. In response, his flaccid member twitched slightly.
Moving away from the hug, he saw Dacey’s face blushing as well. He could see her trying to act nonchalantly, but her red face gave her out. Just as Dacey tried to move away, Rob refused to let her go.
"Rob, let me go! What are you doing?" Dacey asked in a hushed tone.
Rob saw the moonlight filter through the window and shine on her blushing face. The sight evoked the memory of a similar sight in the afternoon soon. This time, Dacey had a different kind of beauty to her and it was also breathtaking.
"I think, there was something that was left behind this afternoon. I am trying to remedy that," Rob said softly and closed in causing Dacey to become a little flustered.
"Rob, stop it. What are you doing? Stop, Rob. Rob!" Dacey’s protests turned weak as Rob’s mouth engulfed hers in a passionate kiss.
"Rob," she whispered coming out of that kiss, only for Rob to silence her with a finger on her lips.
With a crooked smile, Rob shifted her position as to lean on the counter and kissed her once more. As Dacey melted into that, another war began between the duo....
