Booking Glory-Chapter 109: Earning Crowd Hatred
<October 30, Longham Wrestling Arena, Longham City>
"Hello folks, welcome to yet another weekly television of pro wrestling extravaganza. We are joining you live from Longham City. And this week’s edition of <Fyre> is promising to deliver some exciting moments."
"Joining me on the commentary table are Rob Williams and Dallas Moonbyte. Last week, we all witnessed one of the greatest matches in LWC history. Not just for the women’s division, the match that occurred between Evelyn and Selena will surely go down in books as the most emotion-packed match in the history of LWC."
"Dallas, Rob, what are your comments on it?"
"Sensational, I do not have any words to describe it. No one ever expected Evelyn to go as far as she did in her pursuit of victory. Regardless of my personal feelings regarding her actions, I have to admit, it was one of the most riveting matches I have seen in LWC," Dallas said in a grave tone.
"Dallas, Evelyn did what she had to do to obtain the victory. While you may think that her actions were overboard, I personally feel that Evelyn showed the world that she had what it takes to be a winner," Rob chimed in supporting Evelyn.
"Don’t you feel that her actions were a bit ruthless?"
"On the contrary, I think it showed how important the victory was for her. When egos of two top competitors clash, the ending is always destined to be bloody. Evelyn saw an opportunity and took it. She didn’t do anything that was against the rules," Rob clarified once more.
"But, I feel a little sad for Selena. I think everyone here agrees with me. Evelyn may have won the match, but Selena was the one who won the crowd," Dallas said sagely.
"Winning the crowd doesn’t give you anything Dallas," Rob said shaking his head.
"Guys, guys, we still have ninety minutes of airtime to express your opinions. We don’t need to get heated at the get-go. Regardless of your feelings, can we all agree that it indeed was a spectacular match?" Irvin asked butting in.
"Indeed,"
"Agreed,"
Both Rob and Dallas nodded in agreement.
"Well, I am glad that we got that settled. While Selena was not able to make it tonight due to medical reasons, we still have the winner Evelyn Carter here with us. And next, she is set ready to address the crowd after her victory last week," Irvin said leading into the next segment causing the crowd to become volatile.
Just then, Evelyn’s music hit causing the crowd to go silent.
While everyone agreed that the match between Evelyn and Selena was great, and Evelyn did what was necessary to clinch the victory, no one knew how to react to her presence.
The crowd had a mixed reaction to her entry.
Some cheered for her appearance, some booed her due to their dislike, and some just watched her walk to the ring silently.
Evelyn walked a little arrogantly towards the ring as she opened the show. There was a chip on her shoulders and she had a very nasty smirk on her face that made the crowd a little bit hesitant to cheer her on.
If Evelyn was bothered by the mixed reaction, she didn’t show it. She walked toward the ring with her head held high, strutting like a proud peacock, causing murmurs to elicit across the crowd.
Once inside the ring, Evelyn grabbed a microphone from a helper unceremoniously. That action displayed that she had no respect for the helper, causing many to raise their eyebrows a bit.
Evelyn surveyed the crowd for a bit and started her speech.
"Last week, I once again proved to everyone out here that I am THE MOST DOMINANT WOMAN in this roster. Period. There is no doubt about it," Evelyn said starting her speech.
"To all those doubters in that locker room, to all you doubters in the crowd, I have proven absolutely that I operate on a whole different level compared to my peers. From Diana to Selena, I have beaten them all. No one is a match for me."
"Last week, I proved that my loss at <Break Out> wasn’t my fault. I. WASN’T. PINNED. It was Selena who got pinned. It was Selena who got beat. It wasn’t me that lost that match. If not for Selena, I would have made history at <Break Out>. If not for Selena, I would be the champion, right now!"
"Let me make one thing clear to each and every one of you out here. That title belongs to me. I am the most dominant woman in this roster and that title is rightfully mine."
"Now that my issues with Selena are over, I am going to focus on what truly matters. I have waited for my chance all this while. But, I have yet to get a one-on-one shot at the LWC Women’s Championship."
"I don’t care who remains standing after two weeks. I don’t care who is the champion after two weeks. I don’t care whether it’s Dacey Surestone, or it’s Diana Wharton. I am calling in my shot right now. I have beaten each and every one of them in that locker room. It is time Mr. Gibson gave me what’s rightfully mine."
"A shot at that title!"
The crowd was a little put off by the arrogant manner in which Evelyn was demanding her title shot. Usually, a challenger would normally find the champion and issue a challenge of sorts.
However, Evelyn had skipped that and had come out to arrogantly state that she was the one to who the next title shot must belong. It was confidence bordering on despise of other wrestlers, in the crowd’s eyes.
Combined with her actions last week, the last remaining goodwill the crowd had for Evelyn seemed to vanish at that moment. The crowd turned silent, as they watched Evelyn pace the ring arrogantly.
While what she had said was true, the manner in which she said made everyone a little bit irked with her. She didn’t leave any face for the other women in the locker room. This made the crowd dissatisfied with her tremendously.
"I’m waiting, Mr. Gibson. The clock’s running. Come on out here and announce to the world. I have earned this opportunity. You know it, I know it, and they all know it. It is time you did the right thing..."
Just then, the music of returning Marie Dawson blared out and interrupted Evelyn’s speech, causing the crowd to cheer.
Marie Dawson has been off-air for a few weeks now. This was the first time she was appearing since Rob took over the women’s division.
Evelyn turned to look at the entranceway in surprise. From her reaction, it didn’t look like she was pleased.
Marie Dawson came though the crowd basking in the crowd’s cheers. She made her way to the ring and posed for a while, under Evelyn’s thuderous face. Accepting a microphone from the helper, she turned to face Evelyn.
"Evelyn, you look surprised," Marie chuckled. "I bet you didn’t expect me out here, did you? I mean, I have been absent for while. And it looks like you have forgotten about me."
"And it is not just you," Marie said pausing slightly to look at the crowd. "Even the people in the back, the entire locker room and even this crowd, seems to have forgotten me."
"But, I don’t blame them. The LWC I left and the LWC I came back to were completely different. Everything’s changed around here. The women’s division has changed a lot in this few weeks."
"I mean, there was this first ever Triple Threat Match that became history. You should know it as you were part of it. Then all this stuff with Dacey going off the rails. Man, that was a surprise. And last week, you and Selena tore down the house. Things are different here. The women’s division in LWC has entered a new era!"
Hearing Marie’s words, the entire arena came alive. LWC chants echoed throughout the arena, causing the atmosphere to become lively.
"Just because I was absent for a few weeks doesn’t mean I am going to miss out on this new era entirely. You, Dacey, Diana, and Selena, you have all had your moments. But, it is my time now. And I am not waiting patiently backstage when you strut out here and demand a title shot. You saw you earned this opportunity, trust me, you have earned nothing sister!" Marie got into Evelyn’s face and they started to mouth off.
Just then, Leia Beaumont’s music hit, eliciting another roar throughout the arena. The crowd was ecatatic to see Leia come out of the curtain as well.
"Hang on, hang on, hold on there for a moment," Leia came out in a hurry with a mic in hand and walked towards the ring. "Marie, I agree with your point of view. But, that doesn’t mean I will take a backseat when you talk as if you deserve a title shot."
Leia came down the entranceway while addressing both Evelyn and Marie.
"Marie is right Evelyn. You had your chance at <Break Out> and you blew it. You were a part of the historic first ever Triple Threat Match. You had a shot at making history. But, you blew it. And now, you are here, acting as if... you are entitled to another title shot. Nah, nah, you are entitled to nothing, bitch!"
Leia spat fire and looked at Evelyn angrily. Leia didn’t climb the steps yet. She stood in front of the ring and adressed the duo inside the ring.
"And Marie," Leia turned to Marie causing her to back off from Evelyn and turn towards Leia. "You haven’t earned anything either. If you think you can walk back in and get a shot at the title. You have another thing coming."
"Oh yeah, how about this? You and me, one on one tonight. You ready to put your money where your mouth is?" Marie asked aggressively.
Immediately Leia and Marie began to mouth off at each other as they geared up to fight it out. Just then, Alanna’s music hit, causing the crowd to erupt.
Alanna’a cheers were far higher than what Marie and Leia received. Alanna came out in her bubbly getup with a mic and stood on top of the entranceway.
