Bound To The Ice Dragon King-Chapter 202: Soulmate bond
The soft morning light filtered through the delicate curtains, casting a gentle glow upon the room where Rhea lay entwined with her husband. Draven’s arm, a reassuring anchor, held her securely against him. Beside the bed, clothes and rose petals were left scattered around the floors.
Everything felt like a beautiful dream to Rhea as her eyes fluttered open, a serene smile graced her lips, echoing the warmth that emanated from the realization of their last night’s shared love. She blushed as she felt the strong arm wrapped around her waist held her tightly to his body. And the thought that they were both naked under the sheets made her blush even more.
Rhea marveled at the sight of her husband’s peaceful expression. She had never been this close to him while he was asleep before. His features, softened by slumber, exuded a quiet strength that captivated her heart. Thick lashes hovered above his closed eyelids, straight nose, deep pink thin lips, he was lovely. The rhythmic rise and fall of his chest, a soothing cadence, mirrored the tranquility that enveloped the room.
The wind, a playful companion, danced with the curtains, teasing them into a gentle waltz. Beyond the balcony door, the world embraced the break of dawn, and the rustling snow outside whispered secrets of the night.
With a tender touch, Rhea began to trace her fingertips across Draven’s chiseled features, a silent exploration of the man she now called her own. His closeness unveiled a vulnerability she had yet to witness, and a sense of awe swelled within her. She smiled as she traced her thumb against his lips that had done wonders to her body last night.
However, her exploration was interrupted by a sudden tightening of Draven’s embrace. His eyes, pools of blue sea intensity, fluttered open. "Good morning, my love," he whispered, his voice husky and smooth, an embodiment of dawn’s velvet embrace.
Startled yet excited, Rhea met his gaze, and a shared understanding passed between them—an acknowledgment of the intimacy that bound their hearts. In that fleeting moment, the room held its breath, as if savoring the beauty of a love that had blossomed between them.
"Good morning," Rhea replied as she shyly avoided his intense gaze that reminded her of last night. Her husband had been insatiable during the entire night. He had touched, kissed, and tasted every inch of her body as if he couldn’t have enough of it even after he had made love to her many times, his hands gentle, his mouth insistent. The intimate memories filled her with wonder, and she felt her face turning pink.
Moving experimentally, Rhea discovered that the muscles on the inner sides of her thighs were sore, as well as her shoulders and the back of her neck.
Seeing her slight grimace, Draven looked down at her, a frown crossing his forehead. "Did I hurt you last night?"
Not a bit. Rhea thought, she had enjoyed every moment of it with him. She had never dreamt of ever getting married or making love to her husband in such way. In the past, all her thoughts were on how to become a rich woman, so she could live a noble life, but now she had found another happiness in her husband.
Rhea laid her hand against his face, stroking his cheeks and the surface of his smooth skin. "I am just sore, It’s nothing a bath won’t cure."
No one would have recognized the reserved, emotionless Draven El-Dezeus if he had been seen gazing at her with such tenderness. "You are more beautiful in the morning light," he said huskily, trailing his hand between her thighs under the sheets.
Before he could go further with his hands, Rhea quickly caught it and looked up at him, "I want to ask you something," she said softly.
"What is it?" He whispered as he caressed her cheek.
"Is it true that I am your soulmate?" She asked, then added when she noticed a frown on his face, "Alina mentioned it to me when she was about to cut my chest open. She said your core chose me because I am your other half, and even without the core, we will still have the soulmate bond. And when I think about it, I think if your core was looking for a vessel to reside in twenty years ago, it would have chosen someone else on that day, i am sure there were many babies being born, but it chose me instead." She looked into his eyes, "is the connection between us possible because I am your soulmate?" She asked.
Draven’s expression shifted, a subtle furrow forming on his brow at Rhea’s mention of the soulmate bond. The notion had been a whisper in the winds of the dragon world. Only a few were able to find their soulmate, while others just get married without caring about the bond. And just like every other dragon, Draven hadn’t cared about the bond when he met Alina, he had wanted to marry her because he’d thought he loved her then. Yet, as Rhea brought the topic, a realization dawned upon him, and his eyes met hers in silent contemplation.
He considered the gravity of her words. He had found it strange that he could feel her emotions and connect with her, but he had thought it was because of the core that made all those things possible. But it seemed the weight of destiny had weaved its intricate threads between them.
The mere thought that she was his soulmate invoked emotions he hadn’t fully explored. His gaze, intense and searching, bore into Rhea’s soul as he grappled with the revelation.
Draven realized Alina must have known about this from the book she stole from him, the book held a lot of information of a soulmate bond and how it works. But he had never bothered to read the book to the end. However, he knew what it meant when someone was your soulmate.
Finally, breaking the silence, Draven spoke, his voice a rich tapestry of emotions. "Rhea, the soulmate bond is a notion spoken of in whispers. I had heard, but I didn’t give it much heed. For love, true and deep, cannot be confined to the whims of fate alone. But do you know what it means to have a soulmate?" He asked.
Rhea shook her head. "No."
His gaze softened, and he tightened his hold around her beneath the sheets, as if seeking reassurance in the physical closeness they shared. "Having a soulmate bond with someone destined to you means; you will share a connection beyond anything, whether in death or life. With our souls connected, we can bring each other back, even from the dead as long as one of us lives. A soulmate is something rare to find." He softened his voice even more,
"But I found mine. Even if the core hadn’t resided in you, fate would still have led me to you someday. You are my destiny, entwined in the very fabric of my existence." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
In the quiet aftermath of his words, the room seemed to hold its breath, the truth of their connection lingering like a sweet promise. Rhea smiled, "Does this mean if one of us dies, the other can resurrect the other?" She asked in wonderment.
"It’s the words whispered among people, no one is certain if the soulmate bond works like that. And none of us is going to die to know how the bond works." He said, "As long as you have the core, nothing will ever happen to you, and as long as I have you in my life, nothing will happen to me."
Rhea, caught in the tender gravity of the moment, felt the strength of his embrace and words, a testament to a love that transcended the mysteries of the soulmate bond and embraced the enduring magic of their shared journey.
Rhea’s smile was immediately extinguished as she heard footsteps moving up and down their room’s hallway and saw how the daylight had reflected the entire room.
A chill of embarrassment settled over her. "Hell be damned, we’ve slept late," she said in dawning horror. "I can’t believe it. Both of us are always awake before anyone else, at the break of dawn, and now... Heavens, everywhere is bright and I can hear voices in the house!"
Rhea reared upward in panic, but Draven was quick to press her back down to the mattress. "Hold still," he murmured. "Stop panicking as if we have been doing something wrong."
"How can I not panic? All the servants you assigned to the house are awake," she said, staring at him with wide eyes. "And it’s obviously way past breakfast time. Heavens, I have never slept late before!"
"Neither have I, my wife."
"Then let’s get out of bed and start with our day." She suggested.
But her husband didn’t seem particularly enthralled by the idea. And Rhea tried to wiggle out of his hold, "Let go of me. I have to introduce myself to the servants and tell them how to run the house the way I want." She said.
"You can do that later," Draven said dismissively.
Rhea moaned in increasing misery. "I can’t. If we go down any more later than now, they will all think we were doing something else in the daylight." Snatching at a corner of the sheet, she pulled it over her face, wishing she could hide forever. With flushed face, she exclaimed, "They know what we’ve been doing. Oh, don’t you dare laugh Draven!"
Draven did his best to oblige her, but his blue eyes were bright with amusement. "What else do you expect them to think newly weds to be doing in their room?"
"That’s my point! When I was in Birhhan, a mistress of the house must not give her servants the opportunity to wonder what she had been doing in the room with her husband, because the servants will lose respect for her." Rhea said, her voice muffled. "The thought of facing them now that..."
The sheet was inexorably pulled away from her, although Draven had to forcibly uncurl her fingers from the handfuls of white linen. "You don’t have to worry about all that, it’s different here in the dragon realm. Nobody will respect you less because you are in the room with your husband during the daylight." He assured her. "And besides, I don’t plan on letting you go down yet."
Rhea frowned up at him. "Why?"
A chuckle stirred in his throat. "Because I have something else in mind." he told her as he cupped her breast, and she wriggled impatiently beneath him.
"Draven, we must rise from the bed and go about our day! You have a meeting with king Henry_"
"Yes, I do. But I am already risen up." He assured her, bringing her hand to the swollen length of his erection.
Rhea gasped and jerked her fingers away. "If you think I’m going to do that with you now again, in broad daylight, while everyone knows we’re up here, then you are..." He covered her protest with his mouth and spread her beneath him.
"Someone will hear us_oh!" Rhea whispered but gasped as she felt the playful nip of his teeth on her right breast. Another fresh heat of desire ignited inside her as he playfully tease her with his teeth.
He leaned down and began to kiss the naked length of her stomach, starting from the space between her breast working his way downward.
"I am sore,"she protested, although a ripple of pleasure went through her body when he nibbled at a sensitive place beneath her abdomen.
Bringing back his head higher, he whispered at the nape of her neck, "I’ll be gentle. Just once more, my love."
The feel of his mouth made her shiver weakly. "I... I hope this isn’t usual for you. More than three times last night, and again this morning... it won’t be like this all the time, will it?" She breathed.
"No." He pushed a pillow beneath her hips to angle them higher. "I’ve just been deprived for way too long. Eventually I’ll have my fill, and slow down to once a night."
"How long is ’eventually’?" she asked, and he laughed softly.
"Draven," she moaned, flinching as he slid two fingers inside her. He became even more gentle, his fingers barely moving while they remained deep inside her. His lips wandered from her neck to the side of her throat, his kisses as light as butterfly wings, his warm breath fanning on her skin in a way that made her shiver.
The sensations gathered and intensified, until Rhea released a whimpering breath and tried to move her hips.
"Don’t move." He whispered softly.
"But I want you," Rhea said, writhing as his fingers eased further inside, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his head down for a kiss.
Suddenly she felt his legs push between hers. "Open your thighs," He murmured against her lips.
"That’s good." His fingers withdrew and the head of his shaft replaced them. The hard length of him filled her completely, while his hands pulled her hips even higher, adjusting the fit with meticulous care. Once inside her, he began to make love to her all over again.
Bitting down on her lips, she smothered her involuntary cries as he thrust hard and fast inside her. Heat curled in her abdomen and radiated outward in hectic ripples. Every part of her being was focused on the place where he joined her, the thick pulsing organ that pleasured her until her senses were spurred into an ecstatic explosion.
Draven groaned loudly as he leaned down to cover her mouth in a heated kiss so she wouldn’t injure herself by bitting down on her lips to smother her cries, letting the climax flow over him, drain and deliver him.
Breathing hard, he hung over her until his arms trembled. Collapsing onto his side, he kept her with him, still enclosed in the depths of her body. Bathed in midday light, they lay amid the tangled bedsheets.
A long time passed before Draven spoke. "Let’s take a bath together."
Rhea turned and buried her face against his chest. "At this rate, we’ll be up here all day," she muttered laughingly.
"That is what I want," he replied, tilting her face upward with his fingers to steal another kiss.
