Chapter 41: Crimson Tower

"Are you a fool, Levian Bladeblessed?" Jyselle asked whilst tilting her head to the side.

It was a valid question, so all Levian could do was laugh.

"I’ve taken down a platinum dungeon before, and that was when I was much weaker. Besides, this will be sure to break Diana through to gold."

Diana stood there with nothing to say. She was still stuck in a state of shock.

However, it only took Jyselle a few moments to concede.

"Well, I’m not going to complain. You’re an interesting man, and I like interesting men."

Then, suddenly, a golden aura began to emanate from the Supreme’s body. It carried a presence that wasn’t frightening, but certainly unsettling.

Diana naturally edged closer to Levian, as if seeking safety. "I-is this the TRUTH power that I’ve heard about?"

Levian watched Jyselle with a close eye, trying to figure out anything that he could about the platinum exclusive ability.

Nothing.

"Yeah... I know just as much about it as you do."

Jyselle smiled from beneath the golden mist, before drawing a circle in the air, producing a great tearing sound.

Afterwards, a portal formed in the air, leading to a void. The golden mist dissipated, and the Supreme was left standing there before it.

"What?" She shrugged. "Have you never seen TRUTH before?"

That’s not it... I just wish someone would tell me more about it.

...

Patience, Levian.

"Well, whenever you’re ready you can step inside. I’ll be waiting here for you, and if you don’t return, I’ll be sealing the portal and leaving you there."

The words were unsettling, but Levian knew that the woman would give them more than enough time before sealing it.

She couldn’t risk losing the true elf in such a foolish way.

"Are you ready?" He asked, looking into Diana’s blue eyes.

She nodded her head and spoke with hesitation. "Only as ready as I can be."

Then, without wasting any more time, they leapt inside.

[Quest: Slay the Blood Drah]

[Side Quest: Slay ten Drahlings]

Levian and Diana emerged from the portal to find themselves standing in what seemed to be a giant circular room.

The room was made from crimson coloured bricks, and its height stretched so high that they couldn’t see the ceiling. It was like an endless tower.

Levian felt Diana shuffle close to him in fear.

"A Drah..." She muttered, reading the dungeon description. "Isn’t that—"

"Yeah. A lesser dragon, just like the one summoned by Onitsuka at the Ashen Crossing."

Both of them remembered what it had taken to take down such a beast.

Could the two of them possibly take one down by themselves? And that was without considering the Drahlings.

Before the beasts could arrive, Levian quickly remembered his initial plan.

"I’ll make you a mythical weapon right now."

He didn’t want to do it in front of Jyselle, in case the entity saw her as some sort of threat due to her power.

He knew that doing it inside a dungeon would have its risks as well, however, in his experience, he had always been given a period of peace before the battle inside dungeons.

"Umm... you see, that’s the thing Levian. I don’t think I need a weapon."

Levian stared at his fiancée with confusion. Above, he started to hear the approaching beating of wings in the distance.

"What do you mean?"

Diana explained.

"My class is the Rememberance Warden. It grants me an SS talent that allows me to remember ancient magic used before the system collapsed, and temporarily call upon it."

...

Levian stared at his wife in utter disbelief.

It was well known that before the system existed, mana flowed freely in the world, and could be called upon by those with an affinity towards it.

In most areas, this magic was weaker than the skills created by the system. However, in the areas where it wasn’t weaker, it outshone the system in unimaginable ways.

It was said that ancient mages created the system itself. Very few people could still use this magic, and Diana was one of them.

So her magic is so strong that she doesn’t need a weapon. Just what sort of spells has she learned—

"RNNGGHHHH!"

A sudden guttural roar sounded from above, and at the same time, a giant shadow was cast over them.

Levian and Diana both swung their eyes up to the sky, and there they found 5 red lizard-like creatures with wings descending upon them.

They were each the size of humans, with forked tongues that spat blood.

[Blood Drahling]

[Health: 500]

And above them was the shadow of an even greater being, who refused to approach them. It hovered out of reach and out of sight, but it was clear what it was.

The Drah.

"L-levian, what do we do?"

Levian reached into his soulspace and pulled out Eagledraw, the green bow. Range was the best method for flying creatures.

As the creatures were approaching, he wasted no time in activating one of his weapon skills.

Wings Above Flame ~ Leap high into the air with a single beat of wind and slow time for 3 seconds. During this moment, you may release a shot that splits into five spectral feathers, each targeting a different enemy within view. (Cooldown: 45 seconds)

Levian leapt into the air, drawing the attention of the five Drahlings. They all opened their mouths and prepared to hiss blood magic at him.

But his bow was too fast.

After fully drawing the arrow, he let it loose and watched as it split into five.

THUD THUD THUD THUD.

Four arrows took the Drahlings in the wings, sending them crashing to the ground below in injured heaps. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Only one remained and managed to spit a ball of blood at Levian. He tried to pivot in the air whilst falling, but the blood managed to catch him in the leg.

A sharp pain washed through him, but it didn’t do enough damage to cause serious injury.

[Levian Bladeblessed]

[Mid-Silver]

[Life Force: 460/500]

Still, it was enough to make him cautious.

He landed on the ground with as much grace as he could manage before turning to Diana.

"Do you think you can take down the last one that’s flying?" He called to her.

The woman was shivering in fear for a few moments, but after taking in a deep breath, she managed to calm herself down enough to respond.

She nodded her head confidently and outstretched her palms upwards towards the Drahling. Then, a red light began to form in her hands.

"I’ll try my best."

Levian flashed her a smile, as he withdrew Eagledraw and summoned Nyx, the flaming sword.

"Good." He nodded, then turned to the four remaining Drahlings who stood on the floor with injured wings.

They glared at him with menace, hissing blood.

"And I’ll handle these guys."
