Building a World Class Empire in another World-Chapter 31: Getting a true name Part 2
Chapter 31: Getting a true name Part 2
Aric felt some sort of peace as he stared at the woman dancing. It felt soothing, calming. He subconsciously got up to his feet and started walking toward her through the flowers.
He kept going until he got close, and then she stopped. She turned and faced him with a smile. "You are a fascinating one," she said as she walked toward him.
Aric stopped walking and waited for her to get to him. Her presence was warm and comforting. She looked at him with warm eyes, like a mother.
"I don't know you. You are not of this world, are you?" she asked. The sudden question made Aric take a step back in fear. How could she tell that he was not from this world?
The woman saw the fear in Aric and smiled. She stretched out her hand to him and spoke, "You don't have to worry. I will not reveal your secret. If anything, I am happy that you are here," she said and then stepped forward, her hand going under his chin to caress him slowly.
"It's been a very long time since I got to see anyone. Forgive me and my touchy hands," she said.
"What do you mean by a very long time? Can't you just see people when you want? You are a spirit, right?" Aric asked.
"Indeed, I am a spirit, but I am also a prisoner. This beautiful world you see around you—the mountains in the distance, the cool breeze, and the ever-blue sunless sky—all of this is a prison, my prison.
I can't leave no matter what I try. I have been locked in here so long that I have slowly started forgetting who trapped me here and why," she said and turned around. She started walking away slowly, and Aric followed her.
"What's your name?" he asked.
"Well, I go by Terra, but I can't remember my true name. It has been so long, and every day I stay here, I slowly forget."
"Then if this is a prison, how did I get here? I was trying to speak to higher spirits that would give me my true name, but then I found myself here," Aric said.
"I don't know. I suddenly felt spirit energy swirling like a vortex here, and then I saw you. I found you intriguing. I returned to my dancing, and then you suddenly appeared here," she explained.
"So you didn't pull me here?" he asked.
"No, you found your way here yourself. But I can still help you. I can help you get your true name. After all, I think I am a higher spirit," she said.
"You'll do that for me?" he asked excitedly.
"Yes, but you have to do something for me as well. You have to promise that you will come back for me, that you will free me from this place," she said.
Aric thought about it for a second. "I promise I will do everything within my power to save you from here before I die.
No matter how long it takes, I'll try my best and find you," Aric said.
"Then we have a contract," she said, and a bright light shined on his forehead, sealing the agreement.
"Before I give you your true name, come with me. I want to show you something. It might be helpful to you," she said.
Aric nodded and followed behind her. She walked deeper into the field, and then she came to a stop and pointed at the ground in front of her.
Aric came close and looked at where she pointed. There was a mark on the ground—a triangle inside a circle.
"I feel there is a connection between me being trapped here and this mark. If you can find out more about it, you might be able to save me, or so I hope," she said.
"I understand. I'll do whatever it takes to find the answer and free you," Aric promised.
"Thank you. Now let me name you," she said. "What name would you like to be called?" she asked.
"My name is Aric," he responded. She nodded and then spoke, "I name you Aric, Aric Terra."
She added the surname out of nowhere. Aric was shocked by the sudden addition, but he took it.

He wanted to raise his head and thank her, but he felt a sudden rush of heat through his body, like several bombs were exploding inside him.
His body floated off the ground and shined like a bulb. When the light died down, he opened his eyes slowly and realized he was no longer in the field. He was back in the forest.

Notifications flooded Aric's vision. He took his time to read through every one of them, making sure he understood what was happening. And there was only one thing he could say after reading everything.
Gaining his true name was the best thing that had happened to him. He got so many massive rewards and an affinity for Earth, Healing, and Plants. He would be able to build a thousand times faster. He would be a lot stronger.
And that was not all. He had received a crazy amount of mana. He didn't know how it compared to other strong mages, but this was awesome.
"Thank you, Terra. I swear I'll come to save you. No matter how long it takes, I'll do it," Aric said, clenching his fist as he swore.
