Alex finally placed his chopsticks down and looked up. He was completely fed up with their crap. What kind of annoying bastards were these? Like, was it really so hard to enjoy a simple meal in peace without two idiots hovering over him like flies?

The lanky man smirked when he noticed that Alex was finally paying attention to them.

"There we go. You know I was starting to think whether you were deaf or something. So I’ll cut straight to the chase, kid. I need you to hand over that five million dollars you won earlier and... maybe my big bro over here won’t hurt you too bad."

Alex glanced at the burly man, who was flashing him threatening looks, then leaned back in his chair with a relaxed expression and turned his gaze back to the lanky man, looking at him like he was some kind of fool.

Because seriously how could any sane person think of demanding someone’s money, especially when both of them were practically strangers.

Noticing Alex demeaning gaze, the lanky man immediately grew angry and slammed his fist against the table while cursing out.

"You f*cking piece of shit, how dare you stare at me like that? Do you think I won’t end you right now?"

"So what’s stopping you from doing that? Oh I know, you’re just all bark and no bite." Alex said provocatively. He wanted to use this opportunity to vent all his pent up stress from earlier. Since he couldn’t beat the mysterious woman then these idiots will just have to do.

The lanky man’s face twisted in disbelief. Did this boy just insult me? He clearly had not expected the "pretty boy" in front of him to talk back, let alone mock him so openly.

"What the hell did you just say?"

Alex tilted his head slightly and met his eyes without showing the slightest bit of fear.

"I’m sure you heard me right? I said if you are going to do something, then do it. If not, stop barking like a dog."

The burly man’s lips twitched when he heard that, and the customers around the stall instinctively focused their gaze, sensing something interesting was about to happen. Uncle Chen stood frozen and tried to diffuse the situation but Alex signaled him not to.

What if in the process of trying to reason with the thugs, he got injured. Alex won’t have been able to forgive himself, afterall in his previous life, the old man had really helped him a lot and even now he still wanted to help him.

The lanky man’s face burned red with humiliation and anger. Without another word he swung his fist straight towards Alex’s face, aiming to wipe that indifferent expression off in one blow.

But Alex tilted his head slightly to the side with ease, allowing the punch to pass by his cheek with only a faint brush of wind that moved his hair slightly. At the same time his hand shot out and grabbed the man’s wrist mid air.

The lanky man cursed in frustration while trying to pull back, but Alex’s fingers tightened, causing a sharp crack to echo as the man cried out in pain.

Alex lifted his brows in surprise. He knew he was strong but it looked like he grew a bit stronger, though not much from his former strength. It seems like what he took earlier, the body recovery water, had increased his strength a bit.

The burly man roared when he saw his companion being restrained, and lunged forward with a heavy punch brimming with enough power to break bones, straight at Alex ribs.

Alex quickly released the lanky man and turned just in time to block the punch. He raised his forearm and gritted his teeth tightly. ’Shit It really hurts.’

Luckily he didn’t seem to sustain any injury, just a slight ache. The burly man looked surprised that Alex didn’t yell out and fall to the ground, and in that brief moment of distraction, Alex used that opportunity to step forward and drive his knee straight into the man’s abdomen, causing him to bend forward and clutch his stomach while coughing violently.

Without giving the burly man time to recover, Alex immediately followed up with a sharp elbow strike to the side of his jaws, causing his head to snap sideways, then he grabbed the collar of his shirt and shoved him backward into the nearby table, causing it to scrape loudly across the floor as bowls clattered on the ground. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

The lanky man who was still clutching his injured wrist, attempted to kick Alex from the side in desperation, but Alex noticed him in time and sidestepped the kick, then he hooked his foot behind the man’s ankle and swept him off balance towards the floor.

Both men were now struggling to regain their footing, meanwhile Alex stood there calmly with a condescending gaze. He sneered and began to mock them.

"What’s wrong you piece of shits? I thought you could do better than that. You know what I’m sure that even a baby will be able to put up a better fight than what you pair of douches just did."

The burly man growled like a wounded beast and charged again, this time lowering his shoulder to ram straight into Alex’s torso, but Alex waited until he was close and shifted his waist at the last second, leaving the man wide open. He then drove his fist straight into the man’s exposed jaw, knocking him to the ground.

The lanky man froze when he saw his big bro drop like that. Finally fear replaced the arrogance in his eyes.

"Y-you... You little..." He stammered while scrambling backward.

Alex stepped forward slowly, but even that simple movement was enough to make the man flinch.

"I was just eating, minding my own business, until you jackasses decided to try and disturb me. You know the most painful part of it all?"

He glanced at the spilled bowl

"You wasted my remaining food."

The lanky man shook his head desperately and began to kowtow. "It was all a misunderstanding sir, we were just joking, as for your food I promise to pay for a new one, ok. So please just spare me and my brother."

Uncle Chen hurried forward at that moment, his voice trembled slightly as he spoke.

"That’s enough Alex. Please just let them go for my sake."

Alex glanced at the old man, then back at the two thugs. Since the old man was pleading with him, he decided to just let it go.

"Get out of here." He said coldly.

Neither of them argued. The burly man forced himself up while holding his jaw, while the lanky one supported him awkwardly with his uninjured arm. Together, they stumbled out of the stall without looking back, their earlier bravado was completely gone.

Silence filled the space once they had left. The remaining customers stared at Alex with complicated expression, some were shocked, while others were impressed.

Alex exhaled slowly and rolled his shoulders. With the tiny boost from the body recovery water, he was able to effortlessly deal with two men. Now, he felt pretty confident that he would be able to deal with the five burly men from before without sustaining heavy injuries like before.

And the best part most of all was that he was finally able to vent all of his pent up frustration from the mysterious casino owner on the two thugs. So guess today kind of worked in his favor.

After patting himself on the back, Alex walked back to a different seat and ordered another plate of noodles, afterall his previous bowl of noodles got spilled during the scuffle from earlier.

As he dug into the food and ate with gusto, uncle Chen approached carefully, with concern written all over his face.

"Are you alright, Alex?"

"Yeah I’m fine uncle, Uhmm sorry about the mess. I’ll help you clean it later."

The old man shook his head.

"There’s no need, afterall it wasn’t your fault... You know those two have been causing trouble around here for months. Someone was bound to teach them a lesson. Anyways for standing up to those two, this meal is also on the house."

"Thank you." Alex said with a grin, though he felt a bit guilty about not paying for two meals, he shrugged it off. What was there to feel guilty of, for a free meal. Only an idiot will feel guilty.

After finishing the last bite of the sumptuous meal, he belched with a satisfied expression and wiped his face before standing up.
