Rocky frowned as he assessed what he was seeing.
Firstly, their level was quite high.
Secondly, their skills were quite strange, too. Because he had expected strange skills from them, not those common ones.
Well, he would know if he fought them.
The beast with rags covering its head rushed forward, swinging the spiny whip through mid-air. Just seconds later, the spiny whip lengthened itself to hundreds of meters before descending toward Bobby, its sharp, long spikes aimed at him.
Everything happened too fast. Bobby just managed to lift his gauntleted hands to block the blow in time. The spiny whip wrapped tightly around Bobby’s hands, trying to tear them apart, yet the hideous beast tilted its head in surprise as it recognized the whip was showing signs of decay, as if it had suffered centuries of damage in a moment.
The demon with a long scar on his face clicked his tongue in discomfort.
"Indeed, that guilty beast is always a troublemaker for us."
Without hesitation, he commanded his beast to act. The hideous beast jerked the spiny whip with incredible strength, even dragging Bobby tumbling across the snowy ground like a broken puppet before he slammed into a nearby ice rock.
The hideous beast shortened the spiny whip, but this time it wasn’t mostly decayed or dissipating.
Well, it didn’t matter to the beast when the spiny whip began to grow again from its decayed end.
Soon, two hideous beasts began to lunge at Matt and Bobby.
Rocky narrowed his eyes as he moved to act as well. But two demons swiftly stepped in front of him.
The handsome demon smirked.
"You’re not going anywhere... your beast will be devoured by my beasts."
Rocky grinned as he summoned his katana.
"You seem like the talkative type."
Just like that, they clashed for the first time.
All in all, the tide of battle remained quite balanced, as all three warriors possessed incredible ability.
But if one had to say who clearly had the upper hand, it was Rocky.
Rocky’s swordsmanship completely overwhelmed the scar-faced demon. The only thing keeping that guy standing firmly against him was the support from the handsome demon.
The handsome demon relentlessly fired ice bullets at Rocky from a distance while his ally held him back.
Rocky flipped himself a few times to dodge the ice bullets while simultaneously engaging the scar-faced demon.
The sound of clashing steel rang out across the snowy ground as they moved, even drowning out the deafening howl of the snowstorm.
Clang!
"I have some questions," Rocky said as his katana pressed against the scar-faced demon’s sword.
The demon kept his usual cold expression, ignoring Rocky’s words.
Rocky grumbled.
"Ah... you’re the quiet type."
Jumping back several times to avoid Rocky’s attacks, the demon spoke in a cold voice—yet it carried a hint of confusion.
"With your talent, you’ve at least reached the level of a deputy commander... why are you wandering around this place?"
Rocky raised an eyebrow in confusion. He rushed forward, continuously landing blows on the demon.
"What do you mean?"
The scar-faced demon’s pupils widened for a moment upon hearing that. A smile slowly spread across his lips, then he said,
"Well... seems like you have no idea what’s going on... like an idiot."
He added in a mocking tone,
"That explains why someone as strong as you stays here for no reason."
His eyes gleamed sharply as he suddenly changed his fighting style, thrusting a fatal blow toward Rocky’s chest—taking the chance when Rocky seemed to lower his guard.
But he quickly realized it was nothing more than a trap. The tip of his sword touched Rocky—an illusion.
Instinctively, he jumped back, but it was already too late. Rocky had already left a bloody hole in the demon’s right chest.
Rocky intended to finish him off, but he slowed, letting the chance slip away. Because he sensed that if he killed that demon at that moment, he would have to pay a heavy price—the demon would use some unknown trick to drag him along.
Rocky figured that cost wasn’t worth paying right now.
The scar-faced demon struggled to steady himself with his ally’s support, while at the same time noticing the battle among the beasts.
It was going badly.
The hideous, headless beast had already lost both its hands, exposing stumpy bones bathed in blood, dripping onto the ground and painting crimson over the white snow. As for the other beast, which shared the same condition, a dozen arrows were pinned into its hunched back.
A painful groan echoed from beneath its ragged rags as it tried to pull out the arrows one by one.
Meanwhile, opposite them, the hulking beast with a long maw chewed on a severed hand, crunching the bones. Its gaze toward their beasts was nothing more than that of a predator looking at prey.
Bobby stayed beside Matt, gripping two bloodied swords, only glancing coldly at his enemy.
The scar-faced demon said. His voice was completely serious.
"Retreat!... we need to report that information to headquarters ... .and warn the guard unit to note this human.’’
His fellow nodded before commanding for his beast to retreat. The boney beast spread its wings beneath the dirty, ragged rags and flew up. And, the demons quickly headed over and jumped on its back.
Rocky, Matt and Bobby swiftly chased before them, yet the horde of monsters shot up in the surface of snows to get in their way.
’’Get out in my way!’’

Matt and Bobby supported Rocky, buying him time to go after the demons. Rocky quickly shifted into another form to fly up, but suddenly, another horde of flying monsters filled his vision and attacked him.
"Fuck!"

Rocky gritted his teeth in anger as the demons slowly vanished into the darkness of the snowstorm.
Finally, he turned back into human form and descended to the ground. The ice eagles also began to retreat, as if they had completed a mission to distract him.
Soon, the horde of Winter Ravagers began digging into the ground, concealing themselves again.
Rocky blinked tiredly while observing his surroundings, along with his beasts. Now, he had no idea what to do.
The demons had appeared out of nowhere and attacked him with their beasts, even controlling the monsters in this place to go after him.
But it wasn’t simply like that. Based on what he had sensed from the clues from the beginning, this place seemed to be the demons’ territory.
And his enemy was a troop of demons in numbers he couldn’t handle alone.
"First, I need to get out of this fucking place."’
Rocky resumed his journey. But this time, it was quite harsh. His beasts began to starve and thirst.
He could handle the thirst by using sheets of ice. He would melt them into water to drink, but starving was another story.
His beasts needed pills to eat, but he barely had any left to use. Moreover, the unique pills were in the same condition—if not worse.
Now, he only used them when facing a dangerous enemy. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
(If I’d known this fucking game, I would’ve prepared a lot more of them.) Rocky cursed.
1 hour later.
Rocky hugged his tiny beasts to keep warm while dragging his heavy feet through the thick snow. Even though he had already skinned monsters to make a coat from their thick fur, it didn’t seem warm enough.
And he didn’t want to waste a fire pill just to warm up—it was a huge waste.
2 hours later.
(Damnation!)
3 days passed.
Rocky sat on a monster’s corpse, wrapped in a thick fur coat. He chewed on a strip of meat that burned as he glanced dark night dully.
He took out his pills.
4x common pills
5x red pills
1x fire pill
7x regeneration pills
2x mindbind pills
"Very bad."
