Chapter 93: That’s all you have?

Rocky narrowed his eyes when he heard that sentence again. It sounded like what the scar-faced demon had said. He just didn’t understand what they meant when they said his beasts were somehow involved.

Why did they hate the beasts from the deepest black zone so much?

Rocky spoke up.

"Is there any meaning behind those words?"

The ice-skinned demon just tilted his head and shrugged.

"Which means all of you must die here. That’s all you need to know."

Then, the unholy abomination roared, releasing a wave of ice flame toward Matt. Its throat widened as the icy flames poured out nonstop, trying to freeze him. At some point, the ice flame almost engulfed Matt.

The unholy abomination giggled smugly as it finished its attack. It was certain that Matt had already been frozen into an ice block.

But that was just wishful thinking, as Matt and Bobby activated all their skills.

Matt seized the chance while the enemy let its guard down and controlled gravity to blanket the abomination, crushing it. Even though the abomination could withstand the gravity thanks to its steel-like body, it was unable to move, struggling to stay on its feet.

Breaking the ice block into pieces thanks to his armor’s trait, Matt hovered midair... His massive frame cast a gigantic shadow, covering a quarter of the outpost before dashing toward the abomination.

Matt delivered a precise, brutal bite to the abomination’s throat while two long, sharp claws were ready to rip its neck apart.

The abomination let out a deafening roar in pure agony, struggling to escape Matt’s assault. It created countless sharp, solid ice spikes that burst from its skin like spiked armor to fight back.

But it was no use against Matt’s jet-black armor — the icy spikes mostly shattered as soon as they touched it.

Bobby stood on top of Matt’s head, then jumped into the air. Behind him, a weapon quickly materialized.

A massive hammer covered in dozens of steel spikes, as large as a building. He gripped the hammer’s handle tightly and slowly raised it toward the sky. The hammer was too heavy for him to swing properly, but thanks to Matt pinning the abomination down, time wasn’t a problem.

Pretty soon, Bobby’s muscular arms bulged as he brought the massive, deadly hammer down on the abomination’s head.

The abomination’s eyes widened in panic as it saw the incoming hammer. If that blow landed, it could already imagine its death... its head smashed into pieces.

For the first time, a hint of madness gleamed in its eyes as it triggered its skill. Soon, every pore on its skin released waves of freezing air in all directions. As a result, all three of them turned into an immense ice statue at the center of the outpost.

The soldiers on both sides could only gape in bewilderment at the scene. The demon soldiers hadn’t expected their commander’s beast to have a hard time like that, while the human soldiers never imagined Rocky’s beasts were capable of such feats.

Rocky clicked his tongue as he gazed at the ice statue imprisoning the three beasts. The unholy beast knew its skill couldn’t freeze them directly—the ice would just get destroyed against the jet-black armor. So if it used the skill in a different way, it could freeze its enemies relentlessly. Even if Rocky’s beasts managed to break the ice, it would quickly reform right after.

But it seemed the unholy beast itself got frozen as well.

Rocky couldn’t deny that the plan was pretty smart for dealing with his beasts.

(Well, now the real fight begins.)

Rocky’s attention shifted to the demon commander, who remained as cold as ever.

After a moment, the demon spoke, a hint of excitement in his voice.

"Shall we begin?"

Rocky materialized the pitch-black armor over his body before summoning a katana and brandishing it several times.

His bright blue eyes sparked with fighting spirit as he lunged at the enemy.

The commander smirked and waved his hand, making countless icy spikes emerge from the ground. Although those spikes couldn’t harm Rocky, they still slowed him down. That was a real problem.

Rocky triggered his skill, creating a dozen clone illusions that split off in different directions—a good way to throw him off.

The commander only glanced at the clones indifferently and created a barrage of icy spikes in midair. They shot forward, aiming at Rocky’s clones. Since the illusions could only mimic Rocky’s thoughts, they had no real chance to dodge.

Still, they had already done their job—Rocky managed to close the distance.

Rocky swung his katana downward, aiming to split the demon’s head in half.

But it wasn’t that easy. The demon moved with agile precision to dodge and, at the same time, countered with his own sword.

They kept lunging at each other, trading countless blows, creating a storm of clashing steel.

The flashes of their weapons flickered nonstop in midair, stirring the battlefield. They moved like a pair dancing together—but in truth, they were trying to kill each other. Every strike carried only one intent: to kill.

After countless clashes, Rocky realized that the demon’s swordsmanship was on par with his own. Early on, they were evenly matched, trading blows nonstop, but as the fight dragged on, things began to change. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Rocky gritted his teeth in pain and tension as he relentlessly withstood the demon’s attacks. He tried to step back, at the same time looking for an opening to strike back, but it was useless. The demon kept pressing him, not giving Rocky a second to breathe.

The demon’s eyes remained cold, not a drop of sweat falling as he carried out endless, precise, almost noble strikes.

Not only that, the bastard even controlled the icy spikes as a distraction. The whole battlefield was frozen over, filled with blocks of ice, letting the demon pull off all kinds of bizarre attacks.

An environmental advantage Rocky couldn’t do anything about.

At one point, the demon unleashed a brutal, fatal strike before flipping back several times. In his final movement, he landed on top of an icy rock, looking down at Rocky.

His eyes were cold and dull as he spoke.

"That’s all you’ve got? ... What a piece of trash."
