Chapter 95: Scarlet’s broken heart

A few hours later, Matt quickly returned to their shelter. Rocky, with a wound on his abdomen, staggered as he stepped off.

One of the soldiers commanded his beast to use its skill to heal Rocky. By then, Rocky stood up straight while glancing at everyone.

All of them looked at Rocky as if he were their leader, waiting for his order to begin the journey.

Rocky scratched his head and said,

’’The supplies are still alright?’’

Paul nodded and pointed at the supplies behind them.

"The supplies are intact."

Ting!

Suddenly, a sound rang out of their ears.

[Congratulations! You have survived 14 days.]

[300 Days – Day 14: 00:00 remaining.]

Current points: 25202 points

[Your current points will be offered 1000 points from the low-tier area.]

Ting!

[300 Days – Day 15: 24:00 remaining.]

Current points: 26303 points

Rocky smirked as he glanced at the runes ahead.

(Well, this is very good.)

But it wasn’t over yet. The snowstorm began to subside after many days. One by one, smiles appeared on their lips.

A positive sign had finally appeared.

Ting!

[You’re in enough condition to challenge a Squad Leader.]

Rocky rolled his neck as he spoke.

"Well, it’s time to return human territory."

Inside a wooden room, where things were arranged methodically, occasional freezing air slipped through the tiny gaps between the wooden bars.

The cold air floated along the walls but simply vanished against the intense heat radiating from a figure.

The mysterious figure sat on a chair, reading a pile of papers on the table. The candle in the corner of the table lit her beautiful face, especially highlighting the dark circles under her eyes after many days of lost sleep. Unlike the naive faces of other girls, this face clearly showed experience.

No emotion touched her crimson eyes, as if they had entirely lost their life. Yet, a tinge of vitality appeared when she glanced down at her leg.

A tiny, red dragon rubbed against her leg as if asking for attention.

Scarlet only slightly shook her head, leaning back against the chair. She spoke with a slightly cold voice while petting the dragon, which had jumped onto her thighs.

"Sorry... seems like I forgot you for a moment."

She gazed at the ceiling in tiredness. At some point, she decided to summon the ranking board.

Ever since the game began, she had already checked that name: Rocky Stephens. She didn’t even know how many times she had checked it.

Probably hundreds of times a day, to the point she was obsessed with that name, even missing many chances to climb up. If not for that, she would have had at least 700,000 points.

Her heart nearly broke the moment Rocky’s points dropped to 100, then shot up to 2,000, and then dropped again.

Clearly, the Rocky she thought was real had been toying with her heart over time.

But was that really Rocky? Especially knowing that Rocky had died.

She had seen it with her own eyes – the moment he was crushed to pieces by that bastard.

When that terrifying memory resurfaced, her stomach twisted as she tried to hold back vomit.

She had been in bad shape ever since that day... None of her nights had been proper sleep. At some point, she tried to forget Rocky to calm her heartbeat, but it only made things worse.

She couldn’t stop thinking about him.

She slumped onto the table, tears streaming down her face. Soft sobs escaped her lips.

"I—I miss you... and I wanna die."

She didn’t want to live in this trashy world any longer.

Meanwhile, Scarlet kept sniffing in sobbing, and a handsome guy slowly opened the door. He blinked a few times as he gazed at Scarlet.

Well, that guy was Travis.

Travis slowly approached Scarlet, looking like he had some intention. But when he got within about two meters, he stopped and spoke up.

"Scarlet, I have a report."

Scarlet didn’t even look at him. Well, just as he expected. But he wasn’t angry at all. He knew Scarlet was in a sensitive state, and he shouldn’t upset her. It was also a good opportunity.

When a woman was in a sad mood, he had to please her. Just like that, he could gain her trust. Once his plan was done, he could do anything with Scarlet.

He didn’t need to hurry. Either way, Rocky was dead.

He added in a soft voice,

"I’ve had him... Jeff."

***

"AAAAAAAHHHHHH! MOTHERFU*KER! LET ME OUT... DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"

"I’M A SON OF A GREAT CLAN."

Jeff continued to yell in rage, his limbs locked against the wooden walls of the prison.

The door slowly creaked open, revealing two figures.

Travis smirked, glancing at Jeff as he began to recount his journey of capturing him. But Scarlet ignored both of them, slowly approaching Jeff, who was still screaming in fury.

Red scales began to emerge on her fists, radiating a deadly aura. Her eyes burned with murderous intent as she stared at Jeff.

"You killed my husband... pay for it all."

She roared in rage and landed a brutal, precise punch to Jeff’s abdomen, destroying half of his organs. He collapsed to the ground, bleeding heavily.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Jeff screamed in pure agony, desperately trying to heal himself with his skills. New organs began to form in his abdomen, and the wound closed rapidly.

But this was only the beginning.

Scarlet’s eyes were bloodshot as she unleashed a relentless series of blows on Jeff, turning his body into a mangled mess of flesh.

But she still tried to control her strength, holding back from ending Jeff in a single strike, because she wanted that scum to suffer more... until the game was over.

Sobs and screams echoed through the prison, causing Travis nearby to flinch in fear at the sheer brutality he witnessed.

He wondered, when did she become capable of such cruelty? Was this really the person he had once known?

At some point in his thoughts, he considered surrendering his plan to please her.

"No... I can’t... only I am fit for her."
