Sensing Fou's movement, Haru gave his arm a light shake, and the small, snow-white beast was immediately tossed high into the air.

Losing its target as it was tossed into the air, Fou's jaws snapped shut hard. The creature shivered instantly, intense pain shooting from its gums straight to its brain as tears welled up in its eyes.

Just then, Haru shot his hand out like lightning, grabbing Fou around the middle, holding it firmly aloft. "Oh my," he said teasingly, "it bites, does it?"

Suspended in mid-air, Fou's body trembled as it glared at Haru, its eyes filled with killing intent.

"Well, look at that—it's female!" Haru remarked, glancing at a certain spot on Fou's underside, his surprise feigned. His eyes held a teasing glint; he'd heard, after all, that Fou's human form was a first-rate beauty.

However, Fou remained unmoved, its fierce gaze unwavering. Its entire streamlined beast body tensed, assuming a ready stance for attack.

The reason Fou was called the White Beast was precisely because its instincts were purely animalistic. Human teasing? What was that? Was it edible?

Haru, holding Fou, immediately sensed its tension. His expression changed slightly, and he quickly released the restrictions on himself, letting out a faint trace of his own aura—the aura of a Son of Earth acknowledged by Gaia, carrying the scent of the Earth Mother Goddess bloodline.

After a long moment, Altrouge finally reacted. She rushed forward in small steps, stood before Haru, raised her fair hand, pinched her thumb and index finger together, and continuously flicked Fou's forehead. "Are you kidding me? This joke isn't funny at all!"

"Pfft—!" As she finished speaking, Altrouge covered her mouth and let out a chuckle. A human proposing to an animal—was this the first time in history she'd heard of such a thing? And coming from her own beloved hound, Fou, of all creatures!
